Even though I play it at a local arcade every now and then, I'm still pumped for the home release, well the PC version release that is, since I decided a $1,000 PC would be more worth it than a 360 or PS3.

I am quite interested... Yet as much as I want it, all I hear are the voices saying, "But you've always been terrible at these games!" Maybe I'll rent it first.

I can't wait. There are so many good games coming out this year. ^_^

It's been a good couple years for the games industry, and yeah, it definitely looks like 09 is no different.

I usually blame the controller. If I could play Street Fighter telepathically, I'd be awesome.

Yes, if we could do things telepathically, we would pretty much all be awesome at a lot of things. That's a large part of what makes them hard. XD

I think the game looks really cool, but I doubt I'll be getting it. I haven't any of the platforms needed nor the equipment to run them at college and I never really wanted to deal with fighting games' learning curve. Smash Bros. is about as deep a fighting game as I'll bother with. XD

Game looks decent seeing that it is a 3d fighter. Not too sure if I will be getting it, 3d fighters in general has left a bad taste in my mouth. Only awesome one I can recall is the original soul calibur for the PS1 which I still feel is the best in their collection. Of course, Super smash brothers is fun if you got someone to play with.

Aaactually, though it's rendered in 3D, it's honestly 2d. Gameplaywise it fights right at home with all the old classics.

I prefer 3d fighters, but I don't think I ever actually liked Tekken. I'm all about aesthetics, and it always felt as ugly as foot.

I think I was only into Street Fighter during the Alpha / Zero II & III stage. I also played SF 3 Third Strike, but I am not too good with the parry system.

I remember seeing one guy parry Ken's super special dragon punch. :0

That was crazy.

I think I won't be good with the new type of fighting system that SF4 has, and so if I go online I will get owned. Heheh.

It is clearly 2d at heart, which shows it is developing the right way. The graphics at times look a bit semi-questionable, but it is a new style and most of the time it works. However, after playing enhanced Guilty gear fighting engine games then I am not sure that can be topped at the moment. I still think that anyone who buys this, be them a SF fan or just someone who likes fighters, will have a nice time with it.

Picking this up in the morrow! Should be awesome.

Now all I need is to get my hands on a Hori Stick or something of comparable quality.

Hoping so :). Haven't had a proper Street Fighter outing since the Japanese Pocket Fighter on the PS1.

Got to play it today and reaffirmed that I'm rather terrible at fighting games. Other than that it looks amazing, and is totally fun, even if you don't know what you're doing. Watching is a blast too.

I suppose the point I'm trying to make is... I'm just AWFUL at this game.

I'm finding I'm not too bad at it really. Played it for about 3 - 4 hours total so far.

Beat medium difficulty without using continues which felt like a real achievement at the time :).

My biggest issue, by faaaaar, is the PS3 controller. All too often I'll do a completely different move to what I'm trying to do (well, mainly when trying to do Ultra Combos. The L1 and L2 positioning is annoying).

Anyone got any good ideas for an alternative (method of control, I mean)? I'm actually interested in getting good at this game for some reason.

I know exactly what you mean and can safely say its not the controller. Its you. and its Me.

While my buddy strongly suggest The Madcatz (and e HATES madcatz as much as the next guy) If you calm your hands down for the you should be able to proform Ultra better. It's taken me nearly 20 hours of play, but I'm almost getting them when I want them.

Actually I'm stuck right now. Some of the special moves are asking me to do something with the thumb stick that I can't seem to figure out. It's the thing required for the shoryuken. Also, on Sakura I'm stuck on the Airborne Shobuwubbasomethingorother. For some reason I can't seem to pull off being both in the air and performing the move.

The Shoryuken motion is Forward, Down, Down-Forward (http://www.roflcat.com/images/cats/shoryuken.jpg).

I'm not 100% sure about the Airborne Shunpukyaku though, it shouldn't be all that difficult. You're able to do it easily enough when on the ground yeah?

Easily enough. Adding the whole airborne angle just seems to make the move that much harder, though. For some reason I can't nail that quarter back just after jerking the stick up to get her airborne.

If Akuma is in it.. I'll pick it up. ;)
I've always liked both Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat..
So, when I get a PS3 - Which I can hopefully find the 80GB MGS bundle - I'll see if I can get my hands on this little nugget.
