I've never played an Elder Scrolls game before. :( Haven't really been interested in them. I think I'll give this one a shot sometime when it's cheaper.

I'm picking it up ASAP. Mostly I'm hopping they will creat a Mod Construction kit like they did with Oblivion.

As for the fallout comparison, it's tecnically the same setup, but TES isn't as drab as fallout, so I find it a lot more enjoyable. There is less objectionable content in TES as compared to fallout as well. Though I haven't heard anything about Skyrim in that regard. Probably because I seem to be the only gamer concerned with it these days. >_<

Okay. I give. I'll pick it up today. Gonna be out with my girlfriend to help her buy guitar strings, we can stop by the mall after that.

Edit: So I bought it. I'm glad I did. I also bought the strategy guide. I'm glad I did that, too. Not planning on using it extensively, but it's a daunting game for sure.

Is concerned.

I'd get it soon but I'm kind of behind on the whole series ... so after I get/beat/get bored with Oblivion.

I'm so lame. 8P

Onblivion is shorter than it seems. I remember spending tons of time exploring, then thinking, "Man, I should finish the story..." then 3-4 hours of gameplay later it was over. >_<

I shall meander aggressively then. XD

I did not like Oblivion, it was 100% awful.

I am going to see if it lives up to the Hype. I just hope it's not as terrible as so many other Bethesda games.

The campaign is supposed to be different than oblivion. Oblivion was supposed to follow its main story line like the Fallout games where you have a main quest and smaller, play-in-your-own-time mini quests. Skyrim is supposed to have blown all that up so that you have massive choices for your own quests and consequential quests for earlier decisions you made... and who's to say a dragon won't wipe out a village, eliminating some quests altogether?
But I'm speaking hypothetically... I didn't buy the game. :sob: I bought the complete Death Note series instead... I have no regrets!

Oblivion Sucks I am sorry to say. [Morrowind is way, way better and I play every once in a while] Fallout 3 [New Vegas on the Other Hand was just awesome.] was only better because it had Gore. That's basically all that was good. (Also, I will always prefer it to Fallout: BOS which is just a piece of Pure Garbage .)

The Best Elder Scrolls game made to date is Daggerfall.
That said, I will stop bashing your favorite games and go get Skyrim as soon as possible.

I'm planning on getting it but I just haven't had the opportunity. I will in another day or two. From what I've seen it looks like it'll be excellent.

Overall good first impressions, the animations and behavior of the town folk are a bit bizzare though

That's expected kinda from bethesda. I've seen some WIERD stuff in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Very true, new Vegas just wasn't finished XD it luckily got fixed. Fallout 3 was weird but most towns folk where zombies literally. Skyrim is still there best game to date

Agreed. As much as I love their games, the engine that Bethesda makes their games on has some very strange quirks that to put it mildly. Although exceptionally well for world-building I don't think it can be used for smaller interaction animations like people giving stuff to each other or even handle conversation (like the RAGE engine used by Rockstar in Red Dead Redemption, which did interactions very well). Subsequently (and I say this as someone who really thinks its a great game) makes Skyrim actually feel like its 10 years old for me.

To me rockstar has the best engine in gaming right now. It handles physics amazing. I agree that as amazing as skyrim is its physics feel to dated to be the perfect game everyone wants to beleave it is. The wolf copse physics are laughible bad. Open world games all have really laughible moments.

I don't need a game to be 100% perfectly lifelike and realistic. Perfection is a little too much to just expect from any game developer. Skyrim looks and plays better than its predecessors, which were already fine if not necessarily flawless. That's enough for me.
