I've been working a bit at cutting cost, and one of those is my $50 a month phone bill. I've cut it back, but now pay $20 dollars then 10 cents a minutes long distance.
One option I've come across is called Ooma http://www.ooma.com/. You buy the adapter for about $250 bucks and there's no monthy access fee. That one time fee is about a years worth of phone bills (at $20)
But there's also Skype with it's services. $2.99 a month/$35.88 a year gets you unlimited US calling to landlines and other computers. But the only cordless phone available for Skype is a $160+ unit/$70 for additional handset.
So that's some of the data I've gathered. It seems worth it to save up for an Ooma adapter. Do any of you have any recommendations or ideas or experience?
