Winter Wonderland! =D

So, today I don't have the usual Saturday morning. I can't sleep in because the choir I am in is having a performance of Handel's Messiah at a nearby local church at 11. Around 8:30 my suit mate, who is also in the choir with me, comes over, gently shakes me awake and says, "Look out the window!" I groggily sat up, leaned around the shelf at the end of my bed to peer out the window and what do I find?
A winter wonderland! =3

Not yet! I just got back from the performance, but in a little while my suit mate and I are going to go walk around, take pictures, go to wal-mart buy a sled, and go sledding! =D

Amazing...I wish it was like that here. We got a bit of snow yesterday (when we don't usually get any) but it was rather brief, around 10 minutes' worth.

It just snowed here too and I was way excited. I had a quiz meet today in a relatively faraway place, so I couldn't go out and play yet.
I'm so going to tomorrow though!

We've gotten about 2 feet of snow so far this year. It's not as deep as it usually gets, but it's enough to chill you to the bone when you have to shovel it off the drive on your way to work.
*wakes up* Oh... Sorry. I was asleep for a second there. It's not snowing here. It got all the way down to 54 last night. We're expecting highs in the 60s tomorrow. I really would like to live where it snows sometime, though. I'm bored of sunny, sunny, sunny pretty much all year long.

I was gonna say..."Mith, you moved? O:" Lucky you and sunny weather.
We have below freezing temps here, but no snow. Treasure it while you can, FD!

The jet stream is supposed to park itself over Flagstaff, we are expecting to get between 1-2 feet of snow for Finals week. Lazy snow, it's been really dry this year, and now it tries to make up for it all, ALL AT ONCE! As if we didn't notice. I mean, a few nights ago I pulled an all nighter and the wind chill was down to 3 degrees fahrenheit. Not a single snow flake was falling though, it was pathetically sad. Sure there was some ice left over from a previous storm, but that had been sitting there for a month with not even so much as a drop of rain the month before that.

I'm sorry talitha, I hope you do one day as well... snow is different from rain, as someone who also lived in the dessert my entire youth, I found it amazingly different from rain. Every time it snows it has a different texture to it you could almost say. Sometimes, it takes strange spiralling paths to the ground, and at other times it howls and whips up almost vertically.
It falls in flakes, in puffs, and hard little astronaut ice-cream balls. It can bite your nose and tickle your tongue and when it first falls it almost always glistens like a sea of diamonds when lit by the sun. It coats everything in a serene white frosting or piles up in waves in snow drifts, of impedes you to the waste in an ocean of chilly but surprisingly not so wet "White stuff".
Ultimately, SNOW ROCKS! I miss thunderstorms of course, but normally we get those during the monsoons in Flagstaff, just not THIS year as much. Which is sad because they are really cool. The lightning hits RIGHT over head and makes a big boom that can scare the heck out of you.
Anyways, that describes my feelings about snow. And it will be arriving soon... very soon.

It rained earlier in the week, and its been getting colder and colder for the past two or three weeks. The snow has been coming and it finally got here!
I had a blast sledding, btw. I hope all the snow doesn't melt too soon. I do enjoy it so. When it snows this time of year it puts me in the mood for Christmas all the more! =D
I'll post some more pictures of the snow a little later... its really beautiful.

We actually got a good bit of snow down here in Louisiana for the second year in a row the other day! Sure it mostly melted by dawn, but it was still so cool!

Nice snow pics. Last year, we got absolutely dumped on. Twice. It was great, except for when it came to dig out. At that winter's peak, the snow was about 3-4 feet deep and 4-5 feet wide on either side of our driveway. That was an awesome winter.
Anyway, we'll be getting snow soon enough, if the past is any indicator. Then we can go sledding, and won't that be fun.

I like snow
but the idea of trudging through a foot of it by wednesday morning doesn't really appeal to me... since its a 12 minute walk to class... >_< and a high of 13?
Its still TECHNICALLY fall....

Woo, nice pics! ^^ I love the trees, covered in snow like that....
The snow is so much fun, and so beautiful, even when it sticks around for like, half a year...heh. Then it turns to sludge and it's just all mucky and stuff -__- But still, going skating, skiing, tobogganing, sledding (snowmobiling), building snowmen and snow forts, having snowball fights...heehee. Th only bad part about it is that it's cold, but that's easily taken care of by a nice cup of hot chocolate. Oh how I love winter. Except I feel a little bad for the deer....
We actually had a really late snow this year (If you don't count the first time in mid-October...which went away so quickly...) but now it's here to stay...for a while....
These are some pics from last year's winter. Actually, they're all of the river...covered in snow.

I haven't seen feet of snow in years... it would be nice to get that much snow again. And yes, yes, sledding is fun. =)
Any, those pictures are beautiful!

WE'RE HAVING A BLIZZARD! 50 M.P.H. Winds, with layers of snow, arcing power lines and temperatures that are deceptively cold...as in five minutes exposure leaves your hands from having feeling to being completely numb and not working anymore... pokes fingers... you still work finger don't you? At least you type numb or with feeling
.
I can't believe the weather man was right?! It started out nice this morning with big thick heavy flakes that just kind of covered everything until we had about 1 foot of snow... then finals were cancelled... after I took mine. >_>... <_<... Whose idea was it that the snow would get here at about noon?! That was a 10 question evil analysis test! We had to create a proof of the intermediate value property FROM SCRATCH! Along with 9 other hard questions!
But by tonight the snow just piled up and then the wind got really strong. We now have about 2-2 and a half feet of snow, depending on the location.
So I had to wonder... what would it be like to go out in the snow and take a picture facing into and away from the snow... with the flash on... this is what a blizzard looks like during a single instant:
I want you to know that blizzards are awesome! Just plain AWESOME! They need to happen more often... AT OPPORTUNE TIMES THAT CANCEL
MY FINALS!

Wow, those pictures are great, Pascal. I haven't seen a blizzard since '93, the day my aunt and uncle got married. XD there were very few people there as to be expected. I was only 3 or 4 at the time, though, so I don't remember much of it.
Having a blizzard, so long as it didn't interfere with necessary things, would be awesome!
