I'm kinda iffy about it.
It's either gonna be amazing or its gonna suck.

We'll see when it comes out.

I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt, based solely on the number of guests, the fact that I like three out of the four guests, and having read Josh's book, it will be a very different experience that I think will be intellectually stimulating.

Also, having heard some of the music (The Pig, The Flies, and The End, albeit in crappy quality live videos), I think it's going to be pretty freaking sweet.

Anyone here heard of a band called "The Number Twelve Looks Like You"? They are pretty cool. A self-professed mathcore band, with definite grindcore/noisecore tendencies.

http://www.purevolume.com/thenumbertwelvelookslikeyou

Those first two songs are awesome! XD Aw heck, all of them are pretty great.

lol It doesn't surprise me. It was only a matter of time. I probably won't pick this one up on principle.

However, I am probably seeing The Chariot Tuesday night. I will get destroyed. Yes.

Hello, I have been looking into a good metal cd to buy (eventually). I have a few questions for you guys.

1) I have listened to the one song on purevolume from As I Lay Dying's new CD, "An Ocean Between Us". To those of you who have listened to this CD, do the majority of its songs have singing on them? I like the metal screaming vocals, but they get a little old after a while. I love the song, "Nothing Left", because it has cool chant/sing vocals in the background, I was wondering if the majority of the songs were like this, or if this song is just a one hit wonder.

2) I have been listenting to the Becoming the Archetype songs on purevolume as well. I like the songs off of the "Physics of Fire" because they have a little bit of clean vocals thrown in. On the other hand, "Physics..." seems to have rather monotone metal/growl vocals when compared to "Terminate Damnation". I also heard that there are fewer classical interludes in their new cd, which would be a shame. So, in short, which BTA cd would you recommend?

Both CDs are pretty sweet.

There is a good amount of clean singing in "An Ocean Between Us" but there's a lot less in "The Physics of Fire".

The instrumentations on both are great though which is surprising to me in ALID's case.
I didn't like them much until their most recent release.
Their debut is pretty cool too.

I just bought Terminate Damnation for $6.00 including shipping. Was it worth it?

0.o 6 bucks plus shipping is great for Terminate Damnation. Chill. You'll like it.

Good to hear. It was kind of a deaf purchase, because I have only listened to two songs off of it. Nonetheless, I have heard nothing but good things about it, so I felt it was a pretty safe buy. Now I just have to wait for who knows how long before I can listen to it.

I don't like anything they've released, even as The Remnant.

That's a shame.
I think they're probably the most epic-sounding band on Solid State (which as my musical taste matures, I realize says nothing).

Are you referring to Horde as well? Hooray for Unblack metal!

um....Horde has never been on Solid State....the only black metal they've ever released was Lengsel - Solace.

Wow, I found this band called Jaked Off Shorts and Loaded Heads the other day on Jamendo. They are a German metal/experimental band. Check them out!

http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/21429

Check out tracks 2 and 5 first, or you could download the whole album. Both of these songs have a definite groove feel, especially with the bass guitar.

Pretty cool site too. A whole bunch of unsigned artists that uses the Creative Commons licenses to allow people to legally download and share music from this site.

You were right about Horde...good job (I never bought the album, though).

-Favorite metal band; Anything in my favorite genre...and then Soundgarden.

-Favorite genre; Post metal (you know, Isis, Rosetta, Neurosis, etc.)

-Favorite album; Undertow, by Tool

-Top 3 songs; "Room a Thousand Years Wide," by Soundgarden, "Prison Sex"- by Tool, and then Isis' masterpeice, "In Fiction."

-website; Allmusic.com

I'm in love with AleStorm at the moment. They're insanely cheesy but that's part of the appeal I think... It's like... head bangin Pirates. Captain Morgan's Revenge and Nancy the Tavern Wench... pure awesomeness...
