I got a sudden inspiration for this song. . .

As I just mentioned on c.t.'s thread, I was inspired to write this. This is my first song. If I could write music, I would, but for now, all I can do is hear it in my head, and write out the lyrics right here. It's about getting to know yourself, and how that's one of the most important things you do in life. So here goes.

Find Your Song

Everyday I see him
Struggling to be a man
He doesn't know how to fight
He can't come up with a plan

Boy, I know your troubles
And I can tell you what is wrong

(Chorus)
There's a beat that flows through us
A rhythm that makes us whole
We all have a melody
That you can see in your soul
But if you don't know yourself
Then you're not going to last long
You can't make your name in the world
Until you find your song

All these decisions are coming
Being thrown left and right
And in this busy world
No one's going to show you the light

So tell me how you're gonna
Figure out what's right or wrong

(Chorus)
There's a beeat that flows through us
A rhythm that makes us whole
We all have a melody
That you can see in your soul
But if you don't know yourself
Then you're not going to last long
You can't make your name in the world
Unitl you find your song

It's the only way to be true
For who knows you more than you?

(Chorus)
There's a beat that flows through us
A rhythm that makes us whole
We all have a melody
That you can see in your soul
But if you don't know yourself
Then you're not going to last long
You can't make your name in the world
Until you find your song

No, you can't conquer the world
Until you find your song.

So, that's it. Again, there's music running through my head in this, but unfortunately, I don't know how to convey that to you. This was also directed to somebody I know and love (and it's not Andrew). Hoped you like it.
I am unique, just like everyone else.

It's a nice song, and its so easy to relate to. Things worth while are the things you work hard for. Life is full of decisions and we can't alway rely on others to make it for us. I know many who struggle more intensely to remain in the past then to move on and grow. We all have a place in this world we just need to seek it and have faith. SereneDolphin, you wrote a nice song. Thanks for posting it to let others read. Also, the Chorus is really nice- flows just right. :P.

Great song. I was actually fiddling around on my keyboard for a little bit, and I think I could write some music to go with those lyrics. Unfortunately, I have no idea what you were going for with the piece, and all I have to work with is my own imagination. Still, maybe one day I'll finish and polish the music that these lyrics are making me write, and I'll show it to you.

Great stuff. Keep writing.

Ah, that's nice. I like it! There's a lot of truth in those lyrics. :thumb: How long did it take you to write this?

Well, I had the idea for something like this for like, a day, but then all of a sudden, I had a rush of ideas for lyrics. After I started writing, it took me about five or ten minutes. After that period, then my inspiration left, but at least I got the song posted.

To let you know, Kevin, there was some rock music in the background while I wrote this, so I kind of had a rock-like thing in my head, but after some pondering, I think it would be a nice soft-rock tune. :thumb: Let me know what you come up with!
