Lulu.com?

Postby bigsleepj » Thu Feb 10, 2005 6:09 am

This is a new P.O.D. that does not apparently ask like other PODs a large fee to publish your book / music or whatever, but rather just what it costs to print it. As easy as that. If its everything its cracked up to be then its GOT to be the best way for aspiring writers to start.

Have anyone used it? Are they really all they're cracked up to be? If they are then I'll be using them. :)

I don't know, but I'm curious too. I want to publish my book I'm writing and this could work. Hope someone on CAA knows something about it.

Anime Angels uses Lulu.com for their magazine. I have one issue and it looks pretty nice, though I can't be certain how much of the result is the original prints and how much is the publisher's work. In terms of books I have no experience.

My only dealings through Lulu have been a book I bought (they're international mail is terribly slow, but at least they admit it ) mostly because an on-line friend, who recommended it, wrote it. The binding seems to be good and the paper better quality than most mass-market paperbacks. I still have to read it so I'll have to see if the book can withstand the onslought of a careful reader.
