Nine Months in the Socks of the Motamiya's

Postby KhakiBlueSocks » Wed Jan 25, 2006 10:20 pm

This is a Daikari/Takolei/Taiora fanfiction story I'm currently working on and have posted on FF.net, which is now on chapter 25. It's the longest story I ever wrote, so I hope you enjoy it!

Yay! First poster!

To be honest I don't think I've watched the series this came from but the good thing is that it didn't matter. I enjoyed it anyhow. :) Good stuff, Khaki - I've got this on my subsciptions so I'll look forward to seeing more from you. It's off to a great beginning.

Thanks! I wrote this story so it will be easy to follow for people who haven't even seen "Digimon". That's why, in the upcoming chapters, these guys won't be fighting Digimon, they won't be going into the digital world, and there won't be any complex or unidentifiable terminology! This fanfiction story only deals with the human characters in the human situation!

And that means character development - which I love a lot more than the often shallow 'action' fanfics. Woo!

Awww, thanks! Just for that, I'm going to post the next chapter right now!

Yeah!!
Still going good, Khaki! A very nice development. I'm looking forward to how the rest of this is going to turn out. I always like stories that explore the lives of the characters rather than just follow predictable lines based on the series - and this is one of the former. ^_^

No problem! I've found that writers, even really good ones, need encouragement about their work. The way I see it: they spend a lot of time writing their stories alone, but what they're writing is made (usually!) with the purpose of being read. So they need to be told when their work is good otherwise they often don't get another opinion apart from their own. :)

We have talked in the chatroom about the fic, but here's another quick note: you should mayhaps work on atmosphere. That is you set each scene where the story is set in. For instance, is the bedroom clean or dirty? What reaction do the blossoms have on the crowds at large, for instance? Is there the smell of blooming blossoms in the air, etc. All these things are neccesary for a writer to build a believable world. I can remember CS Lewis once pointed out that he didn't like Alexandre Dumas' THree Musketeers because the novel had no atmosphere and that "London and Paris" seem to be exactly the same. Just a quick tip. :)

Thanks so much, man! I really appreciate it, and I'll put those changes into effect for the special "Directors Rewrite Version" of the story that I'll start on as soon as the original is done. In the meantime, please enjoy chapter 3!

BUMP!

Here's chapter Five and Six of my story--on Fanfiction.net, these chapters are separate, but because they're a little short upon further review, I decided to combine the two! Hope you enjoy!
