Transplant

I hear it every where
Follow your heart to where
It must lead
But I've read
The Heart is deceitful beyond all things
So what am I to believe?
Then I heard a voice
“Come follow Me.â€
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
Choose Life that you Might live.

I written many other poems. Here is one I wrote A few years back I posted it on Christian poetry.org but I can't find the site anymore so here.

Abba, I call You Daddy.

Abba, I call you daddy.
I love you with my Life.
Abba you are my father.
Praise and Glory
To you forever.

You saved us with your power.
You saved us with your Son.
You are Lord you are Love.
You rule
Rule in me.

Father your word is like water.
Cleaning the deepest.
Father your heart is to save.
You are Love.
Agape reign on high.
Your life consume and
Restorer you give life to all.

Jesus, I call you savior.
I love you with my Life.
Please rule in me.
Let your life set me free.
Let me live in that freedom.
Let sin that I’ve died too not reign again.
Let your life be the power in me.

Spirit I call you counselor
You guide and direct
You give life.
You takes us to the father.
To our Abba
I love you.
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
Choose Life that you Might live.

Here is another poem I wrote it during a hard time
Blinders

Put blinders on my eyes
Lord
Set my feet to the prize.
At the end of the narrow road.
Put blinders on my heart.
I don’t want to see the sides
of the road.
That tries to distract me with every step.
I want to head strait.

Keep my mind on you.
On the things that you have planed
And the prize at the end
Let me see the ones you place
in front of me,
And the souls you want me to reach.
I want to follow you.

But put blinders on my heart.
So I want see the flashes
That distract me
And ask my mind to dwell on them.
They try to steal my sight
So that distraction are all I see.

I don’t want to see them
I want to see you.
So put blinders on my Heart.
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
Choose Life that you Might live.

Here's another one The orginal pome was lost when a back pack got stolen a few years ago. I was able to recreate last year it but it's not as strong as the orignal.

You Took My Heart And Smashed It.

You took my heart and smashed it
With You word of lies and deceit.
You took my hope and crushed it
With your pitiful actions.

And I'm crying through tears held back by walls
That eroding away at the seams.
And Your deaf ears don't hear this song
That echoes out, despairing you to see

You've taken my trust into abandon
Leaving me a shadow of a man.
Your lying tongue , thinks it hides
but the evidence is there

And this Song, Lost along time ago
Refused To die
Resurrected from depths
Never to be ignored.

Yet still I Love you
too much to see this road your on
I want you to know, the hand of Love
Who's taking me home
And wants to carry you too.
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
Choose Life that you Might live.

I like your imagery in 'Transplant.' You use such a great modern example to show the complete transformation our lives should take when we come to Jesus.

In 'Abba, I call You Daddy' I assume that you know that 'abba' of course means 'father,' in which case I find your use of redundancy interesting. Your title is effectively, 'Daddy I call You Daddy.'

In 'Blinders' you again do well in putting God's truth in modern terms that anyone would understand.

'You Took My Heart And Smashed It.' Good. I like the way that you accept your angry feelings but don't let them rule you. You still let the Lord's grace prevail.

It strikes me that, as Shadowchild said, these would work very well for song lyrics.

Thank you.

Yes I am aware that Abba means daddy

I thought as much. Would you care to further shed light on 'Daddy I call you Daddy?'

I like twists. But I also believe that it need to be simple so any one can pick it up and understand it but deep enough that people can see a more detailed meaning.
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.

Here a short one

Net
A net that fishes
To build its self
A magnificent bride
For the King
Jesus the Lord.
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
Choose Life that you Might live.

I guess its time for another poem. I wrote this in responce after listing to a song on the radio.

There Is No Life After Love

There is no life after Love.
For life flow though his vein.
And pours out from his wounds to us
There is no Life after Love.
For his heart sustains life.
There is no Life away Love,
He keeps it flowing to the world.

If Love started over
Years ago
We would have burned out.
If love had started over
we would have been fish bate.

There is no life after Love.
For life flow though his vein.
And pours out from his wounds to us
There is no Life after Love.
For his heart sustains life.
There is no Life away Love,
He keeps it flowing to the world.

Love’s heart broke out
On a tree.
Love died to pour
Life on all.
He rose again from the grave
His life our fuel
To go on.

There is no life after Love.
For life flow though his vein.
And pours out from his wounds to us
There is no Life after Love.
For his heart sustains life.
There is no Life away Love,
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
Choose Life that you Might live.

Initially I thought that this poem was going to be about a break-up. When I discovered that it was not, I got a bit confused. First of all, I assume that you are referring to Jesus. In that case, his love is all about life. I wonder if you are hinting at Jesus' death, in which event I think of the Resurrection. Would you mind providing further clarification?

You pertty much hit the nail on the head
1John 4:7-8 will shead some light as well. Some of the poem is a reaction to a song on the radio. Which was about a break up. I twisted it. But if you think about there is also nothing after Love because Jesus will always be. And in the pome I also switched in all three stanza To there is no Life away from Love.
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
Choose Life that you Might live.

I may have hit the nail on the head, but I have no idea how!

creed4 wrote:But if you think about there is also nothing after Love because Jesus will always be.
So then I would think that there would always be something after love... or are you talking about breaking up with Jesus?

"7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
I am further confounded.

Never not in a million years! I saying there is no life apart from him. I guess I need to go back and rework this pome a little. In the passage it said "God is Love" that is what I meant as a clarifer for the pome. I sorry for the confusion.

This pome is kind of a testamony of my life This is also one of my earlist poems.

A Man

Many years ago
at a farmhouse
I became
a seeker of God
Thats where my road started
thats where the gate open up
I started following the man
with nail scared hands.
Now I can't deny
I've sometimes lost the road
But God has brought me back
to that narrow way

I am a man
I am a man
Not strong enough
to make this path
before me
not strong enough
to stand
not strong enough to seek, the king
Thank God for Grace
with it He carries me.

I am no where near perfect
I regreat if thats what people see.
For the only way
I can take a step
is if God carries me
For I am a man of wicketness
Only evil in this heart
No good lies in here
can you see
Thank God he barried that man
The Good you now see
Is CHRIST living in me.
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.

I really like it. This poem expresses a humble spirit along with praise to God. Those are some of the best kind!

This is a pome I wrote recently

No Fear

I see
No Fear written everywhere
I hear be bold
But there is one to fear
I don't cower before him
I bow down in honor
He is the Lord

Not the Fear
Of one who hides
But the respect
Of
His honor and glory
All power is his
I trust him
He is awesome and gloriously
I bow down in honor
For he is the Lord

Beyond fear
Into love
I serve Him
To please Him
My loving Father
His Love casts out fear
I bow down in honor
For, I love the Lord.
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
Choose Life that you Might live.

Change "coward" to "cower."

Your poem reminded me of a scripture passage I read recently:
Luke 12:4-7
"I tell you friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after killing the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgottn by God. Indeed, the very hairs on your head are numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."

Just some food for thought. It's good to have reminders of what fear of the Lord really means.

Here is another small poem

I Will Sing of My First Love

I will sing of
My first Love
The one who died
For the life I Live
oh oh
My first Love
My King
Who rules
Oh oh
My First Love
Forever I will sing

For he saved me
For he raised me
All to him
My first Love
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
