YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Okay, these are the time zones;) :

For Sunday afternoon it is,

Pacific Standard Time - 1:30
*Mountain Standard Time - 2:30
Central Standard Time - 3:30
Eastern Standard Time - 4:30

*This may be the same as PST, and I'm not sure.

We will probably only chat for an hour or so, so it shouldn't cut into your church plans too much.

Please, if Sunday doesn't work for you please let me know. ^___^

On Monday I will have information for the actual Bible study and feel free to ask any questions either on this thread or IM me. My AIM name is in my user profile. You can even bother me when I have my "away" message on - if it's regarding this study.

I'll try to be there for the chat!

I don't have the workbook; I have the hardcover. Am I going to be totally lost?

Anyway, I'm enjoying the book. :)

Absolutely not. ^__^ I think you will contribute quite a bit, since you've been reading the book. This first week we're just making sure everyone understands how to use the workbook, prayer requests and sharing about the letter I asked you all to write. And don't worry - we're not allowed to tell what we wrote in the letter, just maybe your experience that led to you writing the letter.

Week 1 Bible Study and AIM chat

Postby true_noir_chloe » Mon Sep 06, 2004 3:30 pm

Yes, and yes, Shiroi. ;) (We spoke on IM)

Kisa, I'm glad you enjoyed the chat - I did too. ^__^ I want to thank everyone who made it; Kisa, Lynx, Spirit_Wolf, and EireWolf and Mikas (from behind lynx' back). Sorry that some of you didn't make it. I'll try to place a reminder via pm the night before for this next Sunday. We'll look forward to you all being there next Sunday, 3:30 CST. Again, if there is a better time please let me know. I wouldn't mind at all meeting Friday evenings, around 9 p.m. CST.

I realized I said I would place the AIM chat here, but it's like 23 pages long, since we talked for around an hour and a half. Also, quite a bit of our conversation was just fun, goofing off stuff - like telling jokes, talking of crickets, being a geek and anime. Also, I found out it's best not to use a dark background with white type, because KisaTohru's conversation was completely invisible.

We were, however, able to elect Spirit_Wolf our secretary during the chats - she gets to take notes, and share prayer requests. Thanks, Spirit_wolf.

We also found out that Spirit_Wolf was the only one with a workbook (EireWolf is excused because she's reading the hardcover). Many are waiting for theirs via snail mail. So, next chat we'll talk over the first week of study for those who had the workbook; but, I think we will begin the next chat the following week with a discussion about the first week again. I'm sure I confused someone.:eh:

What to do in the Workbook: Anyways, if you don't have the workbook THIS week, it's okay, just get it soon;) . For those of you who do have the workbook, you will open the workbook to page 8, where it says, "Fresh Winds Over Galilee." Above that it should say Week 1.

On page 9 is Day 1 of Week 1. What you do is do that study on the first day. Then on the next day you do Day 2, and so on. By our next chat you should have finished the first 5 days of the study and Week 1. Then on Week 2 you do those 5 days of study, and so on.

This study will be, altogether, 12 weeks long.

Now, for the next chat we'll use questions highlighted by the "little hand and quill" (you'll know what I'm talking about when you get the workbook) and discuss those.

Prayer Requests: Please read the next post after this one. I'm going to place the prayer requests we shared there. Please, let us know if you have any prayer requests, since I don't have the ones who didn't make the chat. Many of these are also elaborated in the Prayer Thread, so please drop by there anyway.

Prayer Requests

Postby true_noir_chloe » Mon Sep 06, 2004 3:49 pm

I figure since we'll all be praying anyway, with this study, it would be nice to lift our fellow sisters, also taking part in this study up in prayer. So, I asked everyone at the chat if they had a prayer request, other than the one inherent in doing a study, which is that they would grow closer to the Lord.

Spirit_Wolf: She also has her requests in the Prayer thread, so please go by there. She wanted prayer for her sister and family, and then a friend at school she's been talking with who's Christian walk isn't what it should be.

KisaTohru: Grandparents, her grandfather has cancer.

Lynx and Mikas: They have a friend who lives down the hall at school, who is a gay, pagan high-priest and addicted to some unseemly stuff. He's ordained in the church of humanism. Pray for their witness to him.

EireWolf: She and her husband are looking to buy a house. They need to know if this is in the Lord's will that they buy a house. They need guidance in the whole decision process and everything involved in that.

chibi_chan: She has been feeling depressed lately, and would like to not feel so down.

Me/Chloe: My husband took early retirement; but, still needs a job. So if you all could pray he gets the job that would be best for our family and him.

Updates:

Mave: She is writing her thesis and would like to have good data for her thesis.

sheherazade: She would like prayer for her family, school, friends at school and growth. She also has some requests at the Prayer thread.

Please, I know that there are many others in this Bible study, feel free to pm me with your prayer requests, and I'll add them to this list. Or, you can just place it here on the thread.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and taking part in this study. May the Lord bless you greatly.

If you would like, Chloe, I could write out a general idea of what all we talked about...that wasn't geekiness-involved. ^_^ I wouldn't be able to do it until tomorrow afternoon, though.

I totally enjoyed talking to everyone Sunday. ^_^ It was a blast.

Week 1, "Fresh Winds Over Galilee" & Chat

All through Scripture He calls you this (I Peter 2:9 “But you are a Chosen Race, a Royal Priesthood, A Holy Nation, A People for God’s Own Possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;â€

I was in the chatroom with TNC last night and things got really ugly.
But out of all the pain and sorrow I felt being there during an argument between fellow Christians, God gave me a song.
TNC thought it would be good for me to post it here, so I will. ^_^
Here it is:

Love Abounding

Verse I:
There is so much sadness every day
That my lonely eyes should see
Though the wind should blow
White ash away
Still this sin
It burdens me

Chorus:
Give me peace that passes understanding
Strength to rise above my pain
Fill me with Your love abounding
May I feel Your touch again

Verse II:
The world, it is so lonesome, weary
Will it stop to lick its wounds?
Yet this blood
It’s ever pouring
Turn me inside out

Verse III:
Fight to live
And live to fight
Will we ever learn to love?
Voices calling in the night
Rising to the One above

Verse IV:
And as I write
You ease my pain
My sorrow washed away by rain
You wipe my tears with one big hand
A grace I’ll never understand

Note: In case anyone doesn't know this, a song goes back to the chorus after every verse. ^^

Thanks for posting your song, Maddie. ^__^ I love it.

The opening line:

There is so much sadness every day
That my lonely eyes should see
Though the wind should blow
White ash away
Still this sin
It burdens me
Is really well written.

Well, we had a great time of fellowship and an enjoyable chat in our chat room today. I'll place a link to it here tomorrow. ^__^

YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Prayer Requests

Yipes! :forehead: No, this wasn't our Bible chat on Sunday - we are in one spirit during our chats, I think, and we always have good fellowship. :) Maddie wrote this in regards to her visit to another CAA chat room earlier.

I decided to just paste the prayer requests back on here. Remember when you're spending time with God to lift up your fellow sisters in Christ in prayer.

Spirit_Wolf: She also has her requests in the Prayer thread, so please go by there. She wanted prayer for her sister and family, and then a friend at school she's been talking with who's Christian walk isn't what it should be. She asked again for prayer for her sister and family, so please do pray for this.

Me/Chloe: My husband took early retirement]Mave: She is writing her thesis and would like to have good data for her thesis.

sheherazade: She would like prayer for her family, school, friends at school and growth.

Sights and Insights, Week 2 Group Session

Postby true_noir_chloe » Mon Sep 20, 2004 4:15 pm

Group Session 2 (pg. 50)

Sights and Insights

For those of you without the workbook this is the fill in the blank section for group Bible study. We pretty much cover this in our chats, in a round-about way, and then for those with the books I place it here so you all can fill in your blanks.

Urgh, this was a long Bible study; I listened to Beth Moore for around an hour on my audio lesson – all good ^___^. God reveals many things to me when I am alone in prayer; however, He has revealed much more to Beth Mooreßcatch the name? *hehe* ;) So, let us see what she had to say. The *notes I place in here are additions spoken by Beth Moore on the tape. Forgive me if I have gotten anything incorrect.

Beth Moore’s words at the beginning of the study: [i]All through time we have had many noble attempts to save the world, many ways to treat symptoms because we cannot cure the cause. The Great Physician prescribed the Cross. “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.â€

AIM chat

Postby true_noir_chloe » Mon Sep 20, 2004 8:01 pm

Here's the AIM chat from Sunday, Sep. 19th.

I read this over and it looks like I'm not paying attention to some of the comments people make. I'm so sorry if I didn't see your comment guys or answer your question.:( I'm reading my notes, looking over the workbook, trying to keep my reading glasses on, flipping through Scripture, and then looking at what comment is the most recent, so I sometimes skip a person. I will try to slow down and look everything over better in the future. I'm a bit slow when it comes to chat rooms, though. :forehead:

If you would like to ask me anything, that I didn't answer please pm or IM me. I really don't mind. :)

Thanks to all who participated on Sunday. Thank you especially to ShiroiHikari who saved this chat for us.
