Stress relief!

Just felt like sharing this:

This week brought my first college midterms, and I was pretty scared about them--I've got a LOT of assignments with hefty precentages due this week on top of the midterms so I was very stressed out about it, especially since I work and I often find myself strapped for study time. But I tell you what, not only did God allow me to get off from work last night and study, the art history test I took this morning was easy! I studied hard and it paid off, and to God alone be the glory for it. I know He allowed me to grasp everything quickly and recall it, and the overwhelming sense of calm I had about it is one I haven't had in a really long time. So let this be an encouragement to you too: God is God over stress! He can make a way for you to succeed. ^^

And for all the other students out there, keep pushing on and studying because it really is worth it and it CAN make a difference. God is with you and you can do all things!

Glad to hear that Ashley. I've been on that road of [incredible] stress many times myself (more often than I care to) so I know what it's like. Speaking of midterms, ours start next week (YIKES!) Anyway, thanks for sharing that.

Like would God help for a maths test... i guess if he did you'd pass and get a good job and serve him there. Okay cool sorted that out for myself

Well, I would answer this by means of analogy. For example, I'm a student at UH; not a perfect one, I have my struggles and problem areas. But I know God allowed me to come here (because I prayed hard on it and had some very clearly divine intervention to get me here), and I also know that God wants me to prosper. Look at Jeremiah 29:11--He promises that He wants the VERY BEST for me. That doesn't mean He's going to turn me into a perfect student with nothing short of 99s on everything. It does mean that by trusting in Him and giving Him the praise for when things go right, that things will work out. I think the heart of your question requires a seperation--God's will doesn't always mean the best grades or the best job. It doesn't always mean passing with an A+. It can mean getting by, or maybe taking a different job where you are a better light. Make sense? I don't expect God to give me As on all of my papers and such, but I do except that He will provide a way for me to achieve what I need to. In my case, that means getting a degree--I have faith that He will provide the right teachers, the right time for me to work on my homework, the right everything, to do so. But it's an active thing too--I have to be aware and listening to Him so I know when my perception of "the plan" is off.

So, short answer: no, I don't think God would "help" you on a math test if it wasn't for His glory. But I do believe that God would provide for you and make it ok in the end.

you should really do this more often... when you show us your weaknesses, your problems and issues, you become more Human to us.
Perfect members give the image of a "robot", and ever since the begining you've given all of us the idea that you never have problems, issues, conflicts. Seeing more of those fills us with joy, becuase we get to see you go through them and we learn with you.

For the most part I do not intentionally "hide" my problems--but I will keep this in mind.

Oh good! I'm glad it encouraged you! As for your test--well, again I would point you to some of the Biblical promises God has made to us. Promises like He loves us and wants the very best for us, even if it's not what we think of when we think "this is best". Don't worry, if you trust in God and continue to work hard, things will work out--again, maybe not in the way you want, but they will indeed work out. Keep studying hard!

I remember the tremendous stress that midterms etc. could bring. Do your best, trust God, and all will be well when it's all said and done.

Mid-terms... All you can do is study hard and pray that everything works out. Because personally I believe that if you study hard you deserve to get a good grade. I run across many people who don't study and pray the night before the test hoping to get A's. They end up getting bad grades and blame God. You work hard for what you get, but God can give you the strength to focus and succeed. Although you may do bad on tests here and there, everything will work out in the end. All you have to do is have faith.

That aside, I'm glad that you studied hard and had a good grasp on all the material. Mid-terms can be a very stressful time; trust me I know . Hopefully when you get the tests back you'll see that all your hard work paid off. I also just got done taking some of my mid-terms. I studied hard and hopefully i'll get some good grades. But just wanted to say glad the stress is off, good luck on finals
