Cooking TV Shows

Does anyone else watch them? I talked to a few people, and I know there's some interest.

If you do, do you like instructional videos, competitions, explaination shows best?

I like Good Eats best, Alton Brown is really good at explaining food basics, and how to have food on the cheap, plus humor, and good food = Excellent

Pitching In, showing you about the food industry, and where the fresh ingredients are/how they harvest them.

There are more, but I digress.
And this I pray, that your love would abound still, more and more with real knowledge and all discernment. Be prepared to preach the gospel at a moment's notice. Do you know the gospel well enough to do so yourself? Be ready.

Good Eats is my very favorite cooking show. Love the humor (so many cooking shows are really dry like "how-to" videos --Alton adds such spice and character to the show). Also the great information I have learned presented in a fun way. :)

Another one I like is Emeril (spelling?). BAM!! Haha. (One of my friends even has BAM! as his catchphrase --I told him I'd get him a framed photo of Emeril with BAM! on the bottom for his desk at work.)
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

I have never had a desire to watch cooking shows, but on lunch break at work, Chopped is always playing on the TV (which is okay, because otherwise someone changes it to some weird channel about Big Foot). I don't particularly enjoy it, but it's fun to make fun of the participants/judges for how dramatic they get over it.

They have shewed thee, O teen, what is good; and what doth the world require of thee, but to fit in, be wealthy, have good looks, and be rebellious? -Peer Pressure 1:1

My goodness... They make it more dramatic than a Shakespeare play.

Oh man... I know that Emile guy, but I don't remember the show he's on... He's not the one that made a whole show just for sandwiches is he?

Another favorite is Iron Chef America! Such a fun show. Love that Alton hosts. (I miss having cable sometimes --I haven't watched Food Network in ages --but I don't want another $40/month bill.)

Add to that Cake Boss --some amazing cakes there.

Emeril does a lot more than sandwiches --he likes to, for example, pour oil in a pan and set it on fire --going BAM! as he does it --then cooking a delicious-looking meal like peppered steak or something.

Cake Boss is funnier, but Ace of Cakes are much more elaborate I think.

No no no, there's a guy that has a show called..... Sandwich King or something like that, I thought he did it too.
