Where can I get the original Star Wars?

Postby Jeikobu » Fri Nov 05, 2004 12:24 pm

Can anyone tell me where I can get the original Star Wars movies (the way they were made with no annoying added stuff)? A long time ago I had all three movies on VHS, but I don't have them anymore. Where can I get them?

Bestbuy, Target, Walmart, these retailers ring a bell?

How do I know whether it has that added footage or not?

So no place sells the movies as they were made, without any of the annoying add-ins?

Man what a bummer. Why do they feel like they have to mess up everything with the movies? :-\

Ditto. I have the original-orginal on VHS myself, and trust me, those babies are handled with care, I have no idea what I'm going to do if anything happens to them.

On finding your own, Ebay will probably be your best bet.

Well, I saw it on eBay, so at least there's that. I'll ask for it for the holidays.

If you've got cable, (or satellite, whatever...) TBS (I think) runs the original A New Hope every once in a while. We got our copies at a local thrift shop...very lucky.

I've still got my old VHS tapes of A New Hope and Empire, but my Return of the Jedi went MIA somewhere along the line. The only thing I really can't stand about the Special Edition is that dumb "Greedo shoots first" thing they put in there. Let Han be a dirty scoundrel at the beginning.

If ebay doesn't work out...go garage salin'. That's where I've seen a lot of stuff like that.
