There's been a lot of talk about how this might end Mr. Gibson's career. It very well might. People hate anything like serious christianity.

I've heard that Mel is going to make one more movie, then retire and go back to Austraila.

i read the critique of the movi ein the paper today. The guy (who I have come to not like as a moive critique for a while now) gave it a 50/50. He liked it and didn't.

He thought that Mel went to far with the vioolence factor and that he was trying to impress people and have people who like movies such as "Texas Chainsaw Masscare" and "Kill Bill" go see this.

He wanted more of what Christ talked bout and his teachings. He didn't like that aspect that it wasn't in thier. Though he said he didn't feel impacted by the movie as everyone says cause he just didn't feel the burden that Christ endured (: eyebrow: ). He gave it a not so good review, then again, this is the guy who gave the Veggietales Movie that worst review I've ever read

Alot of kids are going to see this movie tonight from school cause they are intrested with all this controvery and all the stuff that's going around it. Funny in European History Class, we just finished up the movie The Patriot which stars Mel Gibson.

ARGH! Critics...they actually made a movie about something like that? I wish Peter was here to cut their ears off...

Jesus would just put them back on...because He still loves them...despite the spit on his face...despite the scorn...and I have a song idea...excuse me...

Well, I was going to go tomorrow, but it's gonna mostly likely snow down here..... well stink... hopefully, I can go saturday. I heard on the radio, the movie had a nice sound track to it.

Whoa, hold it there. I find that offensive. Even thought I'm not Roman Catholic, I go to a Roman Catholic school. And they are every bit as Christian as you and I. They have some different beliefs, sure, but all denominations do. If you attended a Catholic service you would find that it is VERY similar many of the Protestant denominations. And to solve some of your guys' confusion, Roman Catholics DO NOT worship the saints OR Mary. They probably hold them in higher regard than Protestants do, but they by no means come before God and Jesus. So don't go bashing Mel Gibson; he's a good man and I think this is one of his goals that God meant for him to achieve.

As for the movie, I'm looking forward to seeing it. It'll be good for me. I've never cried at a movie before, but they say that this one's a real tear-jerker, and I don't doubt it....

Woman Collapses During Showing of "The Passion Of The Christ"

A woman collapsed in an East Wichita theatre this morning, during a showing of "The Passion Of The Christ". Peggy Law apparently suffered a heart attack. She was pronounced dead a short time later at a Wichita medical center.

Peggy Law, also known to some by her married name Peggy Scott is a respected figure in the local broadcasting community. The tragedy has hit some here at KAKE especially hard. She was a former employee.

People viewing the movie at the Warren Theatre East say Law collapsed during the portion of the movie where the crucifixion of Christ was shown.

A few off-duty doctors and nurses who were in the audience tried to revive her. But when she was taken away in the ambulance, authorities say Law still had no pulse.

The movie has been criticized for it's graphic portrayal of Jesus' death. Religious leaders around the country and here in Wichita say people need to be prepared for the graphic brutality.

Whether Law's death and the timing in the film are related, we will never know, but religious and medical officials stress this film is not for the faint-hearted.

KAKE TV in Wichita, Kansas set to report a woman, in her 50s, suffered a heart attack during a morning screening of Mel Gibson's controversial film PASSION OF THE CHRIST.

"She later died at the hospital," a station source tells the DRUDGE REPORT.

Scheduled to be lead story on the station's 5 PM news. "She went into seizure during one of the film's most dramatic moments," a station source explains.

The woman attended a 9:30am screening, first public viewing at Warren East Theaters in Wichita...

Whoa.

seing it tonight

i just got back, it was incredible, it did have alot of blood, but i think that its worth seeing

i just saw the movie tonight and i must say... wow. i would like to address a few things ive seen floating around. if you want to nitpick at this movie and find reasons to not go see it then be my guest. but anything that was added didnt change anything from the original story. what i would like to say is this. if you go to the movie determined to nitpick at it and not let God use it in your life then you might succeed. but i went with the expectation that it would make me think some about my faith and what Christ really endured... i wasnt even close. this movie touched me in a deeply spiritual and personal way and i cant explain it except to say that i cried for 3/4 of the movie and it wasnt just the fact that i had taken so much for granted. although i realize that i did take everything for granted what God communicated to me was just His overwhelming, pure love for everyone. the fact that at any time he could have called down 10000 angels to deliver him he instead paid a terrible price to free us. thats all im going to say about it. im sure it will affect everyone in different ways but i prommise that if you do not see this movie you will be missing out in a very big way

i too saw The Passion. I just have to saw this, i cant belive how i felt the moment i left the theater, and when i got home i hugged my mom for a whole minute.

i still cant belive what He did for us how he suffered all that for our sins...

im excited... im going to see it again on friday with my YG and on sunday i might go to it again with some friends. i want to see it as many times as i can in the theaters

Saw it last night. It was very realistic, the best I've seen. The movie was excellently done, but it makes me mad to see what they did to Him.

I saw it last night, and it was excellent. I will take sometime to respond to things said by various critics:

1.The movie is not antisemitic. The movie doesn't go out of it's way to portray the Jews in a negative light.

2.Jesus' teachings are shown throughout the film. The Washington Post reviewer said that there wasn't enough of this, but that is absurd.

I won't give anything else away (not that you don't know what happens ).

I saw the movie at a private screening that was booked for my church and the high school it hosts at 9:30 this morning. I was unable to speak for at least twenty minutes afterwards, and after thinking it over a great deal I returned home and wrote the following:

A glass of grape juice and a few shortbread wafers sit on the desk next to me, and I am unaware of the significance of this. I take a bite from the wafer, and suddenly I remember the words of Christ: “Take, eat. This is my body.â€

My Youth Group back in Phoenix bought out entire theaters and just said any teen who wants to see this movie can go for free.

My own thoughts on the film are that is indeed a masterpiece. In its production, its themes and its cinematography it is absolutely first rate. However, I will admit that one criticism of the film is not without some truth. Namely, that the film does not make sense as a film, in that it lacks the familiar sort of story and character development that make up a good tale. Of course, this is only a problem if you expect to be "going to the movies" and not to a passion play.

Each and every one of us here sees the film through the lens of belief and culture. We know the story; we know the whys and wherefores of it, and that's why it is a work of such tremendous power. I am forced to admit though, that those lacking such familiarity will probably be at something of a loss with regards to this film.

I liked the fact that they put in the scene with Veronica's veil. I remember hearing that story in elemtary school year after year.

I really want to see this still... I hope I'll get to see it this weekend...

It's one of the stations of the cross. A woman named Veronica comes forth to wipe the blood and sweat from Jesus' face with her veil.

i liked that scene... i thought it was great. i liked the whole movie. bottom line, if Gods hand was on this film (and it was) then as a christian i have no criticizm

I just saw it... This is the single most incredible movie I've ever seen... When Peter denied Jesus and looked into his eyes, that was me... I broke down at that moment... I didn't even notice that you didn't hear the rooster. That wasn't important. I denied Jesus and now I've seen him suffer for me. He suffered for me and I denied him in so many ways because I was scared or bored or lonely. It was so incredible... I was worried about licenses that the movie would take, or about little details I didn't agree with before I watched it, but this is silly... I get so swept up by things I don't agree with and by annoyances or small obstacles... I'm so incredibly petty... I denied him... My Lord and the person who's loved me more than any human being... I denied him...

That was the most incredible acting I've ever seen. There's so much I want to say, but I don't want to ruin the experience for people who haven't seen it yet. It's amazing how the crucifixion can be at once so brutally horrible and at the same time the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. When Jesus met his mother on the way to the cross, I cried more than I've ever cried in my whole life. This was not a movie about the brutallity that Jesus suffered, it was an expression of absolute love. It's unfortunate that it's so late or else I'd do it now, but the first thing I'm doing when I get back to Phoenix tomorrow is going to confession because this movie has helped me to see how wretched my sins actually are.

I hope that your hatred of using different media to portray the Christian message changes soon, but that is your decission. I can't disagree with you more.

i have nothing wrong with the media i love other movies about Jesus and i dont hate anything, i know from experiance God can use anything to reach pople, but i feel as a christian this movie was not right. and i hope it doesnt hurt anyone.

Things were put in to keep the flow of the story going. He added details that fit things that could have gone on. I think to be upset over something like that is entirely missing the point.

This movie brought people ON SET to faith in Jesus, and it brought many who watched it to faith in Jesus as well. This is the single most powerfull movie to come out about Jesus ever in history. This works better as a visual representation of Jesus suffering than anything before it. The scenes with satan were not in the Gospels because the scenese were commentary. It was commentary something that could have gone on. There were things I didn't agree with in this, but to complain about minor details ignores the fact this does show the most important parts, and better than any other film ever made.

Also, since Mel Gibson is Catholic, there's probably some stuff from the Catholic Bible in the movie, right?

Anyway, to each his own.
