Custom Title

Would it be possible to make it so that we can choose our own custom title? You know, instead of "registered user?"

I think this has been discussed before, but IMHO it would be awfully easy for someone less ethical to pretend to be an administrator that way. (And I don't think the admin staff wants to be in the business of approving every title change ...)

They still couldn't change their color...and if anyone gives themselves an inappropriate title, it could be enforced just like if they made an inappropriate comment.

Actually, I'm in support of something, for no real reason. It just feels wierd for almost every single person to have "Registered User." The words feel a bit useless if they apply to almost everyone. Or I'd support taking out all titles but the moderators/admin. Whatever.

That's not a bad idea. If you only allow the mods etc to have words in their titles, you would also save between 15 and 150 bytes AT LEAST per page.

LOL, I would like a custom title option (although I'm notoriously uncreative with those, my current user title at CF is "Tee hee. . ." to go along with an avatar of Milly holding the stungun after dropping it) nevertheless, I like the idea.

I don't know if you've thought of this already, but maybe you guys could set a post threshold or something like that for the Custom Title thing so that trolls couldn't use it...
