Wolf's Rain 8-12 -- I had this recommended to me back in October or so when I first got into anime--found it mind-numbingly boring and grating. But everyone I know loves it...so I finally repicked it up and now I am seriously enjoying it. :)

Also still following a bunch of airing shows. :)

Kamichu! episodes 1-4. This show is awesome, even if the last episode had cheese loaded all over it.

Tegami Bachi episodes 9-10. Tegami Bachi is always good, especially when it doesn't feature bad CG bugs.

Bakemonogatari episode 6-8. I didn't like this arc as much as the other two, but still awesome.

Mind Game is Masaaki Yuasa's directorial debut and, well, it was interesting. In a lot of ways, it was like FLCL for me, where they just went crazy with the surreal imagery and plot. Of course, Yuasa's works are renown for their unorthodox art, but it was still an effort to watch, since the stories are usually much more grounded. I'd say that you should watch this if you're interested in seeing more of Yuasa's stuff, but I don't know about it for someone new to his style.

I watched the two good Legend of Galactic Heroes prequel movies, My Conquest is the Sea of Stars and Overture to a New War. The two were great in that I was able to see the characters I spent 110 episodes with again and the glorious tactical combat. It was also a nice reminder of how The Man was pitted against both Yang and Reinhard at the very beginning of the series in how their superior officers would often work against them and how they both overcame those challenges. Really good stuff.

After a lot of prodding, I decided to watch Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. Maybe if I watched it a few years ago, I would have thought it was amazing, but now, after watching so many of these things, every part of it seemed rote and composed entirely of cliches. It's probably not a good sign that I was able to predict everything that happened!

KimiNozo Next Season is an OVA that covers the alternate ending. Although the character designs and art were a lot better (likely a consequence of being produced in 2007 rather than 2003), it had about one or two episodes worth of content stretched over four episodes, which is pretty bad. I guess if you're a fan of the character that got shafted in the main series, it was a nice consolation prize.

The Place Promised in our Early Days

Clouds, separation, high school romantics, crushingly beautiful backgrounds, soft piano and strings.... it is Shinkai doing his thing and doing it well. It is slightly more esoteric than 5cm, and I didn't enjoy it quite as much. Some people complained that it was too long, but I thought the sci-fi elements gave the viewer enough of a break from the drama that the length wasn't an issue. I look forward to the next. 9/10

Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro

This movie is great not because it is legendary or groundbreaking material, but because there is nothing wrong with it. It is great fun and adventure, with gadgets, thievery, gun fights, wisecrack comments, and women to woo. Easily my favorite Miyazaki movie. If I hadn't been forced to watch it dubbed, it would have gotten a perfect score. Alas some of the voices were too annoying to ignore. 9/10

Well, I started reading InuYasha, and decided I'd like to watch the anime alongside, just to see how different it is. So far...not very. lol. In the past three days I've watched 38 episodes. And even though I've seen this far in the anime already - and I was reading the manga at the same time - I was really caught up in it. And I know, I know, it's because I haven't hit the filler yet. lol.

I have recently finished Brighter than the Dawning Blue. :)

Rather tame for an anime adaptation of an eroge. Plus the ending was rather Disney-esque.

Also finished the dubbed version of Clannad. Now I am waiting for the dub of Clannad After Story.

Began Earth Maiden Arjuna

What can I say but... wow. So far, very weird, and I about went into an anxiety issue multiple times through the first episode XD (I'm sensitive to... weirdly mooded things? Haha) The soundtrack is beautiful, and if it suits your tastes or not, gets 10/10. The animation, too, is amazing. 10/10 yet again. The story and the characters are still being processed... But so far, so good. It is immensely beautiful and strange, but feels a bit distant. Honestly, I've spent more time gaping and twitching than I have with worrying over the characters. Then again... They're all likable, and realistic. Very likable, in fact. Just... distant.

And I'm still continuing Code Geass, which I am finding to be more and more unlike the manga version every day...

I really enjoy Arjuna, the story pacing is some of the best that I've ever seen in my life...The only thing that I don't like is how incredibly preachy it is. It's about a 6.5/10, if it wasn't so preachy it'd be a 9/10 easily.

Anyway, I just started Arakawa Under The Bridge. It's pretty fun so far.

I started Ghost Hunt (episodes 1-10), and so far, I'm underwhelmed. While there are elements about it that I like, there are far more that I don't care for. I was hoping it would be at least a little bit creepy, to satisfy the urge I have to scare myself right now (I even made sure to watch it when I was alone, at night, in a very dark room...but...too bad. It failed.). The first arc was okay, and the second was significantly better (episode five was especially good); but the third was pretty awful (in my opinion). I felt like I was watching Scooby Doo or something. I will continue watching it, since it is entertaining, if nothing else. And who knows? Maybe it will surprise me and become a new favorite by the end. That has happened to me before, so I won't give up hope yet. =)

Bleach - I honestly can say that I never thought I would enjoy this series. While I think its a little confusing at times and really sad, I am so far enjoying it.

Still going through Heartcatch. Cure Sunshine is totally overpowered.

The new ending song is...well, it's certainly unique, I've never heard a song quite like it in an anime.

Shiki episodes 3-7

Feels like we are coming to a turning point. I am very interested in seeing where the series goes now that the cat is out of the bag (so to speak).

Sengoku Basara episode 1

A horse with handlebars and an exhaust pipe? I like where this is going.

Ringing Bell

It is like watching Bambi's mom die, and then having Bambi be so traumatized by it that he decides to learn to become a vicious hunter so that he will never feel weak and powerless again. Then Bambi and the hunter who shot his mom develop a twisted friendship and run roughshod over the forest, burning and pillaging. Yeah. Gets the award for "most disturbing kids movie ever". 7/10

The Girl Who Leaped Through Time

I am beginning to think that complexities of time travel are infinite. This movie does a perfect job of exploring several of them. 10/10

Kigeki (Comedy)

Studio 4C is known for being seriously wacky, but this short had both feet on the ground. Wonderful Gothic artistry and animation, too. 9/10

EDIT: Kara no Kyoukai 1: Fukan Fuukei

I have no idea what this was about, but it was nicely animated at least. Rocking fight sequence too. Hopefully the later episodes explain a little better what the heck is going on.

I haven't seen Brotherhood (or read the manga), but FMA: Brotherhood follows the manga, whereas FMA did not really. I think FMA got ahead of the manga publication, but the FMA geeks can correct me if I am way off. :)

So I've been watching Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu! And whilst it is funny for the most part, I have not been very pleased with the language and innuendos and almost full nudity. If those things weren't as prominent, I would enjoy the show more.
