You shall have to let me know if it develops past "pointless brutality." :/ I was all stoked for it, and then was just rather stunned at it seeming to have no point but blood and guts.

Definitely interesting... I find the main character very cute, though I kinda feel bad for her XD

Bakemonogatari episodes 9-12

That ending, both for the TV part of the show, and the ED, man, it was great. I think my problem with Nadeko Snake/most of Kanbaru's arc/the first episode of Tsubasa Cat is that it doesn't feel as good without Senjougahara. The show hits its high points when Senjougahara and Araragi are together, and not just being a couple, but just interacting.

I also want Mayoi to show up again, she was fun.

Been watching a lot past few days...

Started Honey and Clover (eps 1-2). Really enjoying it, though I can't put my finger down on why exactly. It somehow borders on "boring" and "way fun."

Also started Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai. Not entirely sure what to think of it, and thinking I shouldn't be enjoying it quite as much as I am. But hey, I do seriously love the brother character. He rocks.

tried to pick up Togainu no Chi again since it's now legal? But. Was majorly creeped out and 'tis now on the permanently dropped list...

scanned My Neighbor Totoro. From what I saw, I like Miyazaki's directing. Don't know if it's something I'll have time to watch in full this month.

Lots of Black Cat and some Tegami Bachi, for me.

Black Cat is good, though hardly a masterpiece. After having read about three volumes of the manga, the anime surprised me by being completely different. It's also interesting to have an antagonist so obsessed over the main character, and thinking in 'his best interest'.

Tegami Bachi gives me warm fuzzlies inside. May they never go away. (I've heard they do, though... T.T )

i watched spirited away a few days ago and i was really surprised at how much of it i forgot. i was like, 6 years old the last time i watched it, so i didn't remember much about it. the only thing i remembered about it was
chihiro's parents turning into pigs, yubaba pulling chihiro all over the place with her magic, no-face eating all the people, and yubaba's fat baby
XD i forgot all about the plot and most of the characters, so it was almost like watching the movie all over again.

More Black Cat~ This and Mamotte! Lollipop surely get awards for randomness. It's sort of frustrating when you don't know what crazy sci-fi or fantasy trick it'll pull on you next... all the same, that's part of the fun. I do wish it would focus at least a little more, though. First we have nano technology, then we've got chi... Good enough series, though.

I'm actually referring to the latest chapter, which is quite a bit ahead of the anime.

Tegami Bachi, the anime, is pretty much sweet fuzzies the whole way through until the last episode, and it's still a sweet fuzzy whimsical sad dark....if that makes any sense.

Lovely Complex episodes 7-8 ^_^ Funny as ever, and I'm liking Koizumi and Otani's relationship more with every episode!

I've also been watching Porco Rosso with my mom and little sisters. I've seen it before, on the road, but when they tried to watch it on the TV it kept skipping and they never finished it. So we finally decided to try it on the computer instead, just so they can see the whole thing. A very different sort of movie, not the sort of thing any of us would normally be attracted to, but there's just that certain Miyazaki charm and skill that keeps us riveted. We're just about ready for the climactic battle between Porco and...that Texas dude whose name I always forget XD

So I finally finished Honey and Clover and Honey and Clover II.

All I can say is...wow. I haven't been this affected by any form of entertainment in a long time. It made its way straight to my top ten anime, which is usually reserved for things that I have watched multiple times.

I have to admit, I liked the first season quite a bit more than the second (the last four episodes of season one were among the best episodes of anything I have ever seen), but even so, I went through a whole box of tissues during the second half of season two. It ended perfectly. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Odin: Photon Space Sailer [sic] Starlight

Considered by many (including the cast at AWO) to be the worst anime movie ever made and rightly so. This movie is beyond "so bad it is good" and approaching "so bad it is epic". If it weren't for the fact that the middle chunk of this massive two and a half hour movie put me to sleep (literally) I would have given it a perfect score. 9/10

AWO...I bought Odin - Starlight Mutiny a few years back because of that podcast. It is the chopped down American release...which I didn't realize until after the fact.

I have yet to watch it.

Lovely Complex episodes 9-10. They're making it very easy to understand why Koizumi loves Otani so much. He might not be a bishounen or anything, but I can't help thinking I would fall for him too if I was actually there... :red: *can't believe she just said that in public*

Sengoku Basara ep. 1-12 [complete]

I wasn't sure I was going to like Sengoku Basarsa when I first heard about it. Then, of course, I saw the horse with handlebars and a tailpipe, ridden by a guy who wields six swords at once. By the time I got to the main villain, who perpetually has epic orchestra music and a giant storm cloud following him around, I was hooked. By the end, I was convinced it was one of the best anime ever (everything that I had hoped TTGL would be but wasn't, even). The amazing music and extremely crisp and vivid animation are just gravy.

Two things, however, kept it from being perfect. First is the ninja Ms. Fanservice, who not only wears remarkably little clothing, but also utterly fails at anything ninja related. I would guess that all the clumsiness is supposed to be a fanservice trait, but all it really does is make her more annoying than she is already. Second is Oda's sister, who is most pathetic, helpless, whispering person ever. The only time she ever does anything other than sit around and cry and complain is by accident.

Those things aside, this show is over the top awesome with absolutely insane characters, and makes me want to study Japanese history in the hopes that the real characters that these people are based off from are even remotely like their anime counterparts. 9/10
