CAA: Stand Around Complex

Postby uc pseudonym » Tue Apr 26, 2005 7:21 am

If you know what this thread is about, skip to the third paragraph. Otherwise, read the next.

This is somewhat of a webcomic I created based upon CAA. Many of you have already seen it in another thread, but it is far easier for my sake for me to create a new thread at this point. I never really intended this to be humorous, but some parts of it ended up that way. Therefore, I give you:
CAA: Stand Around Complex

Has everyone forgotten about this? The server jump and the like certainly didn't help any. While I'd like to say that I've been spending this time creating something wonderful, the truth is that I let it slide amid other obligations. All I have done is the characters pages, which I finished ages ago, and the next comic, more recently. Because my life will get very rough for the next few weeks, further updates will be impossible during that time.

Therefore, I bring you a double update. Go to the site (linked below), and check out both the characters page and the 12th comic.

http://www.kcome.net/caa/caa.html

Ratings
Violence: 6 (there is quite a bit, blood at times involved, but this is still a sprite comic)
Language: 1 (essentially none)
Sexual Content: 0 (completely unnecessary)
Nudity: 0 (...right)
Bad Religion: 3 (Christian, but the villains' philosophies receive some time as well)

I'm going to read it soon, but I have your page bookmarked so I constantly check for updates. I all this very much, off course.

Ironically enough, the site has exceeded its bandwidth cap. I probably drained a great deal of it trying to troubleshoot the new page. Things should be back in about an hour.

...maybe you should go upload this site to Graffiti.net or some other free host that allows more bandwidth. I use Graffiti.net for direct links and stuff all the time and I have yet to exhaust my bandwidth.

in any case, I'll be checking it out when it comes back online.

I'm sure it will be down again soon; I should use .jpgs for the characters profiles instead of .bmps.

Perhaps I should use a better host. I've just used Geocities because I got a free account with my Yahoo account and it didn't require registering for anything else.

I think if you make more, you should move hosts.

I like the comic ("Horrible ktxxktxx the most important part is ktxxxx")

I'm very surprised at the comic because it's very neat. I think, it takes alot of patience to stick together, and drawing, colouring... :thumb:

Blast it, Geocities! I'm pretty sure switching from bmps to jpgs would help a lot though.

I managed to catch the update. Yeah fight!! Good job, UC XD

The switch has been made, resulting in files generally less than a tenth of the former size. Everything should be viewable now, unless quite a few of you all visit the site at once.

As for a host change, I did some research and I know what I want to do, but the school terminal blocks the site ("weighted phrase limit exceeded?" What weighted phrases? It isn't like a registration page is going to curse like a drunken sailor with Turrets). At some point in the future I will make the change, but I'm not gauranteeing that will be anytime soon.

I suppose. At the moment, I am far too busy to make new comics; it could become possible after next week. Perhaps the next six have been written, and the entire plot has been planned. But for now there won't be any updates.

There is an update. I did some research on free hosting and decided on 50megs, but trying to upload there was extremely frustrating. At this time of the year I can't mess with that. Perhaps I can make a significant upgrade later.

I'm glad you all liked it. I'm not sure when I'll be able to work on the next one, but I do have all the comics through #22 written. This is going to go longer than I had expected, but I can no longer accurately predict the overall length.

Your sprite is an old man with a stick and so far you have done nothing but rant. It has very little to do with the real you, actually.

My apologies. For some time, my disc access was cut off, and I also was delayed by final examinations as well as my trip to California. But my answer is yes; I do not want to leave a project of mine unfinished. To that end:

By the by, this one has been planned since the beginning of the comic.

IT'S GREAT, PSEUDO-SENSEI!

*Becomes a Stand Around Fanboy*
With your doubt, all is comfort
We are all as we appear
No more questions left unanswered
No more wonder, no more fear
Nothing is beauty, nothing's feeling
Blood where there once was a soul
So I ask you, prove yourself
Make me believe that you are whole
