What is Love?

Being that yesterday was Valentine’s I began to think about the concept of love. What is love? Why do people fall in love? How do people fall in love? And what do they do about it once they have fallen in love? My great quest for answers ultimately lead me to the two powerful influential sources on our society and that is Hollywood and the Bible. According to Hollywood and all those romantic love movies, love is some feeling you have down in your gut when you kiss someone for the first time and you just know you are meant to be together forever. This idea of love is echoed through countless movies and all of them point to an idea that love is just an emotion all of the heart and devoid of the head. Yet if love is this emotion that steals away all reason and makes men and woman do foolish things then is it really a good thing? Hollywood seems to suggest in their movies that the carnal desires of lust and the gut feeling of love, or “Gut Loveâ€

I agree with that. I'd love to see a movie where the couple's love is treated more innocently. Unfortunately, only Whisper of the Heart qualifies.
