It's also the amount of HP that Magus has the first time you fight him. It is probably sad that this was one of the first things to come to mind.

Alexander wrote:Also, should it be a boy or a girl? Or should we have both genders? Or something completely genderless?

Often times with anthropomorphs it's too difficult to tell, which works fairly well. As far as actually genderless goes, that's unlikely except for robots or aliens, neither of which has a huge hold on the "cute" market.

I didn't say no such thing, I was just pointing out that the majority of market shares for Cute are held by various animal groups.

hmmm cute robot/alien thing

INTERESTING! :D!

I agree though a lot of times I would classify robot aliens as Pretty or Cool looking...

but cute will be a fun challenge! I wonder who will take it on? XD

Not yours -UC's.
Hmm... cute aliens/robots... that could definitely work! It's a neat idea. I'll try some sketches of that, methinks!

Yeesh... I'm sure I'm going to finish my sketchbook rather quickly with all the ideas I'm going to try and sketch. Wohoo! \^_^

It wasn't a double negative, actually. Let's add some quotation marks and see if it will make your head reform:

I'm as guilty as everyone else, but perhaps at this point we should get back on topic to avoid any further cranium combustion.

Rofl! Very, very true.

One thing I was wondering about the contest -while I know CAA needs a good, clean image for a mascot, should the current contest also take into consideration the general idea of a mascot or its appeal? For example, if there's a really neat concept, but it won't work so well for merchandise or images on the site, will it still be considered, and perhaps, another contest/event/whatever will be held, or several people might be asked to help redraw it to the needed quality/sort of image?

I don't think I'll need to worry about this; I usually colour my images in on the computer, etc; but it's just something I've been wondering about. In other words -will there be lee-way to the judging of the contest, making allowances etc?

In my mind (and Ash et. all please correct me if I'm wrong), there's no reason why runner's up couldn't be used for merchandising, etc. It seems like there's no reason *not* to submit something.

Again, that's just my thinking, though.

No, that's absolutely correct. The more submissions, the better, and just because you don't win first place doesn't mean we can't use the others.

That's cool. Thanks for the answer; it's good to know that. :) Gracias -and I'll hopefully get onto submitting some designs soon. ^^

All the best, you guys -both moderators and fellow artistes (note the extra 'e' for the effect of pretentious snootery).

EDIT: ...and also for those who fill both categories. ;)

Greetings,
I am interested in participating in the mascot contest. Sounds like fun. Is it true that I must post at least 15 times to be eligible to participate in this cool contest? I think I know the answer to this next question but, must it be in one certain thread or is multiple threads Okay.

If I recall, we never instituted a post requirement. If you were to have submitted something in your first post it would be as potentially legitimate as any other. In the case that we have set a minimum number of posts for attaching an image, feel free to use off-site hosting.

There are two threads of the same name, this and the one in which you should post your submission:

You know, on my way to work, I came up with an idea for a mascott, but because I can't draw squat, and I would love to see it on paper, I'm putting it out there for use by any blessed and talented artist to do!

A ninja sitting by a riverbed with the sun setting reading his bible. He is barefoot with all his bandages (those odd things Sasuke wears) off his arms and legs. He looks worn, as though he completed a full day's worth of training, battling, what have you.

Like I said, I can't draw squat, so if you wanna take this idea on, have at it!
