CAA DOWN for the REST of the WEEK!

Hi everyone,

We're upgrading to a much faster network connection here, so I'm going to need everyone's patience. As with any network outage, though, there's going to be some server downtime. My guess is everyone will be offline for some or all of the next two-four days or so. Thanks for your patience!

If you happen to be online and able to chat with people, please let them know what's going on.

Just FYI: The blip we had this evening (we were down from 6:00 - 6:30ish) was NOT the main downtime we'll be having. We'll still be down for the better part of the rest of the week.

Nooooo!

This site is like, a pastime since browsing the net can be so boring at times. Now what will I do? Actually go outside and enjoy the sun? Pfft! My nerdly skin must remain pale looking! ....actually it is extremely hot out there^^

Remember, everyone, that you can always come hang out at CAA's sister site (Anime Angels) in any instance such as this in which CAA happens to be down -- be it planned or unplanned.

In the meantime, I hope the upgrade goes well, Mith. ^_^

Ah, so this is actually happening now. As far as actually being down, is the specific timing kind of like repairmen? "We'll drop by at some point between now and August" and all of that?

I suppose one day I will be pleasantly surprised by an additional half hour in my schedule.

I guess it wasn't obvious from the above, but the downtime here is being caused by a change to a faster line. That meant the DNS entries had to change as well. As a result, people who's DNS servers still point to the old IP address will experience downtime. I setup the DNS server to have a very low TTL, but it looks like that's not working right for everyone yet.

I didn't mean to imply that EVERYONE would loose access SIMULTANEOUSLY for the ENTIRE time.

Everyone'll just be down for part of the time here, that's all I meant.
