JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Volumes 22-28
Karin Volumes 1-4

Does anyone have any recommendations for shojo vampire manga? They don't have to be good and content isn't an issue.

MasterDias wrote:Well, since each arc is technically a self-contained story for the most part and features a different set of protagonists (and the current one, Steel Ball Run, takes place in an alternate universe I think, even if it is considered JJBA Part 7), would it be possible for whoever reviews the series to review each arc separately?
...or would that add clutter to the database?

My thought is that it would unfairly pad the database. Since they run as one series and have some characters in common, I believe there should be only one entry. However, Steel Ball Run is more arguable. I'll see when I get there.

due to UC's sudden interest in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, i have decided to personally check out the series. i just finished volume 1. an interesting start that somehow reminds me of Berserk. the artwork takes some getting used to, due to it's unusual out-dated style, but the series is a somewhat solid action title. i hope to read further into the series to gain a better view of its direction...

Blame Fish and Chips. Give it the first five volumes (Part I) to get a better sense for it. The first volume doesn't accomplish very much.

Meanwhile, I've read volumes 29-30.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

So, I read up to the latest(or almost latest) chapters in this series. It has some pretty fun fights and abilities once it gets around to having a plot(although some of the carry-overs from the comedy chapters are rather random).

However, I can't completely figure out if the sudden, extremely abrupt change from comedy to serious action in Volumes 8+, was planned beforehand by the author or she decided to do it when she realized that action would probably be more popular.

Manga Messiah
Natural Beauty

Both one volume in total. The former is a Japanese presentation of a literal synthesis of the Gospels, so it is pretty good. The latter is a shojo that also makes fun of the genre itself.

I wanna give that series a shot, the only thing holding me back is I don't know how I'm supposed to pronounce the title.
Anyway, I picked up Buso Renkin vol. 1. My fear is that it will ultimately affirm my original reservations that it would come across as "Fullmetal Bleach", as I first suspected when I read about it online. But it's written/drawn by Nobuhiro Watsuki and I'm a big RuroKen fan, so I trust him to do it well without making it seem like some hybrid rip-off.

Incorrect - "Hunter ex Hunter"

Incorrect - "Hunter times Hunter"

Correct - "Hunter Hunter"
The x is silent...

I can't remember how you feel about violence, so just be aware the series has an extremely high body count. Plenty of nameless characters die but so do somewhat more important ones.

Myoti wrote:-Fairy Tail

Though this series hasn't proved itself to me yet, it has been fun so far. I hope there is more with their guild in the context of the world instead of more typical arcs. That's very similar to how I read One Piece, actually.

Steel Ball Run Volumes 1-3

As in the past, I had to get through several volumes before I liked it, but I'm enjoying it now that the plot is underway. Unfortunately, I don't care about the Zepelli or the JoJo in this part all that much; my favorite character so far is Sandman.

WRONG.

I already have done alot of reading. I just read the new chapters now and again (or wait around on Bleach for awhile, so it has enough chapters to feel like it's really moving...). B:

Indeed. The current seems likely to throw the story into such a path (I hope), but it's been pretty good so far. I also really enjoy how it's taken so many seemingly "cliched" shonen aspects (like controlling fire) and made it into something pretty interesting.

Steel Ball Run Volumes 4-5

Seriously, what is up with all the homosexual imagery? I can't think of another explanation and it's pretty bizarre in a story and art style like this one.

Indeed, though I'm a bit disappointed in how it seems like it will be resolved in one big continual battle. My hope is that after this Fairy Tail will be crippled and we'll get to see their guild build its way back up (they should be able to, given that Natsu and Gray just proved themselves roughly S-Class). Also, I want to see Mist Gun.

Yes, we totally need to see more Mist Gun. And what's-his-name (the other S-class guy), but moreso so we can see him get beat up already (possibly by Mist Gun even? B: ).

I have been reading Rozen Maiden, Pride, Akatsuki no Aria, and Divine Melody. They are still ongoing, so I am waiting for more chapters. I am looking forward to volume 5 of Pride by Ichijo Yukari, sadly those kind of mangas are not too popular.

Shin Angyo Onshi Volume 1

I was unimpressed until the plot twist; it perfectly captured the feel of "trying hard but cliché" before reversing things. Ultimately not that original of a title, but the beginning was very effective.

The other guy is Luxus. And yes, he's irritating. I'm trying not to like Mist Gun too much, because ultimately we know next to nothing about the guy, but I need a favorite character other than Erza (the others are just alright as characters).

Over the past two weeks I've read:

-a bunch of D.Gray-Man

-Muhyo and Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation, Volume 1
Premise is sort of interesting, weird art, but I'll hold off on an opinion for a few volumes.

-Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Volumes 29-37
Creative and entertaining abilities, but the translation for this part is pretty bad.
