Worst American Cartoon

Postby rocklobster » Fri May 02, 2008 6:33 pm

What American Cartoon is the worst of all time? Here are my nominees:
Ed, Edd, And Eddy
Ying Yang Yo
Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go
Beavis and Butthead
Scooby and Shaggy (looks bad, and unless the rest of Mystery Inc is involved, it ain't Scooby Doo)
12 oz. Mouse

well, I agree with all those, except I haven't seen the last one, 12 oz mouse. And yeah, the original scooby was much better.
So what's the speed of dark?

Hey, Ed, Edd, and Eddy is hilarious! I love those dumb kids! They bring me a smile...

Worst shows:

Geeker

Whatever that new Batman show on CW is called...it can't touch the original

The Grim Adventures of Bill and Mandy

And...that's all I can think of now...there are more

Spongebob....
12 Oz Mouse is HORRIBLe
Squidbillies
Perfect Hair Forever
My Gym Partner's a Monkey
Dave the Barbarian
Ren and Stimpy
Simpsons
Bevis and Butthead
Angry Beavers
the Later Episodes of Rugrats (all grown up)
Camp Lazlo
Cow and Chicken
Ed Edd N Eddy

I could go on... XD I'm kinda angsty against craptastic american cartoons with horrible plotlines and artwork that looks like a three year old drew the work. :/

I think that Ed, Edd, and Eddy and Scooby and Shaggy are funny shows. I find Scooby and Shaggy to be better than What's New, Scooby-Doo?

But I could see why you would include Ed, Edd, and Eddy. Not exactly the greatest work of art.

THANK you! That is the one I was trying to think of! It was, indeed, horrible. Hence the reason it is no longer on the air...

Another one...

Ren and Stimpy

Sure. Let's just forget all about Lil' Bush and the infinite number of horrible cartoons this country has put out and say "Space Madness" wasn't good at all. B|

Unless you're talking about the "Adult Party Cartoon". In which case, I agree.

Here's my list:
Alvin and the Chipmunks
Fat Albert
Scooby Doo

Heck, any cartoon with a laughtrack. That's just weird.

And CK, The Simpsons, Beavis and Butthead, *and* Angry Beavers?

Has anyone ever told you that you have no soul?

Tarnish, I'm free to have my own opinion.... XD to say tha tI don't have a soul is very rude. >:[ (THIS LINE WAS A JOKE! A sarcastic...reply.... ._.)

I just don't care for those shows, is that a crime? No. I think not. I was never "allowed" to watch the simpsons. And Ren and Stimpy was just stupid to me... I don't like shows that rely on gross humor to win people over. and If you like a show that is about people getting high and laughing it up about the stupidiest stuff...feel free to like it, I'd rather watch a show that is actually good and has some sort of storyline that doesnt involve hot chicks and body parts! >_<

I did like Futurama though...so there :P

As for Spongebob I think it's just overplayed it was good when it first aired and I like the emotions that the artists are able to disply XD but yeah...I;m just not a huge fan of it.

There are so many listed here that I can't agree with due to the influences they've had on all the cartoons to follow.

Here's a short selection:

The Batman
12 oz. Mouse
Godzilla
"It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

How do you even knowI was serious with my last post anyway :P Everdred, since you quoted me, let me explain that my opening line was a sarcastic joke. ^^; I know Tarnish was joking.

The following though was an explaination why I don't like those shows...

It's ok, guys. Chill. This is just a discussion. Everyone has their own opinions...
if we were all the same, how boring would that be? We need even the crazy people :dizzy: that don't like our favorite shows...:D

Let's be civil and not let a topic as simple as this turn into something ugly...let's have a good discussion. Ok?

I was never "allowed" to watch the simpsons.

And yet you added it to your "worst ever" list.

That makes sense. Much sense.

I'd rather watch a show that is actually good and has some sort of storyline that doesnt involve hot chicks and body parts! >_<

I forgive you because that's totally not passive-aggressive at all.

That said, I'm leaving before I either get this thread locked or off-topic.

Oh, and I'll add Family Guy to my list. Whole episodes are just painful.

Hey, the Simpsons isn't the worst cartoon!

The Batman's pretty bad, but some episodes are alright--the first Robin episode and the Riddler's origin story turned out pretty well.

Uhm...

No, no, no.

No. Godzooky was annoying, I'll admit, but no. Godzilla does not go on that list. That show was decently awesome when I was a kid along with Valley of the Dinosaurs. Unless you're talking about the newer Godzilla cartoons that sprouted from the 1998 movie. Ugh, horrible. Then I agree.

Otherwise, The Simpsons bore the heck out of me. Same goes for Futurama. Pretty much anything on Cartoon Network sucks now. I haaaaated Alvin and the Chipmunks. Srsly, most annoying show evar.

Hey! So you're saying Dexter's Lab and Space Ghost Coast to Coast are some of the worst cartoons ever? >_> Fail.

My personal un-favorites?

Ed, Edd and Eddy
The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy
My Gym Partner's a Monkey
Camp Lazlo
Most of the Hanna-Barbera library (not including old Tom and Jerry theatrical shorts)
And here's the one that'll get me flamed:
The original Transformers cartoon. I mean, seriously. It's just awful. However, it is one of those "so bad it's hilarious" kind of things.

That was exactly what I was talking about. I wasn't aware there were any other Godzilla cartoons.
The original Transformers cartoon. I mean, seriously. It's just awful. However, it is one of those "so bad it's hilarious" kind of things.
I know the first season was horrendous. I don't know what the following seasons were like, but if the 80's transformer's movie was any indication it got much, much better. I honestly don't know, though. Somehow Beast Wars and Beast Machines were both great.

It's a crime if your entire opinion is based on the fact that you weren't allowed to watch The Simpsons when you were younger. You're 19, you should go and get a hold of the first few seasons. Your mind will be changed. When it first started out, The Simpsons was one of the smartest comedies on television, and I understand your parents not letting you watch it when you were younger, but seriously. It was excellent.

Speaking of excellence, a quote from an early season of The Simpsons:
"Excellence. Webster's defines excellence as 'The quality of being excellent.'"
