Croc-tology

Postby Sailor Kenshin » Wed Jun 04, 2008 7:58 am

Any Croc fans here?

The originals (aka 'real' Crocs) are more costly than the Mocs, but 30 or 40 bucks is still not too steep a price for a comfy shoe that's so ugly it's cute. I love their range of colors and styles---this winter I got a Mammoth, and not only is it really comfortable, it's WARM.

But Wal-Mart, Claire's, and now some other nameless manufacturer that sells its shoes in Stop 'n' Shop have some pretty good substitutes. My latest is from S 'n' S and it cost eight bucks---it's a pistachio green color (as opposed to the celery green of my REAL Crocs) :p

The Wal-Mart fakes cost like $5-8. The Claire's fake (Mario Battali Orange, with flecks of glitter embedded) were originally $12, but I got them last year at the end of the season for $6.

I'm wearing my celery ones today, except I think I'm going woozy from that new-Croc smell.

They look like styrofoam'd swiss cheese that fell in insanely bright and/or muddy paint cans, XDD. I do not like them in my house. I do not like them on a mouse. I will not wear them in a mall. I will not wear them at all. I do not like green crocs and ham. I do not like them, Rushia I am.

I don't care how "comfortable" they are. I'm not wearing them.

What in the world are croc shoes?

Are they those sandals with the holey tops? That are like plasticy?

*checks* So I was right :D

My friend wears those. My other friend keeps telling her that they're ugly, but friend 1 says they're comfy and that's the only reason why she wears them.

I've worn them before... and they are NOT comfy. People who say crocs are comfy probably have some sort of nerve-damage with their feet. If you want comfy, wear flip-flops.

Seriously, all the rubbery plasticness in Crocs just feel absolutely horrible to touch.

From what I found. Crocs come in different styles. Not just the swiss cheese look :P

Let us see...

I'm guessing the holes are for allowing your feet to breath? I may were something like the first one ^^ I saw alot of crocs that are VERY bright @__@ Perhaps something toned down like the first one ^^ Hmmm, what are they made of o.o? They do look a bit styrofoam-ish ^^ The sandals I have are styrofoam-ish, but aren't too bad ^^ I don't suggest them for long hikes thought ^_^;

Crocs are made of croslite, which is something that was invented by Crocs, Inc.

People who say crocs are comfy probably have some sort of nerve-damage with their feet.

Nope!

If you want comfy, wear flip-flops.

Oh, but I do. Flip-flops are hardly comfortable though. I just wear them because they're easy to put on and take off.

Oh, and Crocs are a load of croc.

Funny.

The three pairs of Chucks I owned previously all wore out quickly, made my feet hurt bad, and simply weren't worth the money.

I agree with this 100%

Crocs are only okay if you're wearing them while working in your garden. XDDD

NO U.

I have a black pair of real Crocs, and I find them rather comfortable, if ugly. My feet work just fine, kthx.

LOL. No really, LOL.

I'm going to take the styrofoam packaging out of the next package I get in the mail, punch holes in them, and make a new footwear fashion statement. I'll even color them with different sharpies for variety. I'll call them "gators."

also, i just have to say. there are many things in this world that may be comfortable. but i wont dare put them on my body.

for example, those old grandma shoes that all the grandmas wear. yah. sure, they can be comfortable. but why would i wear them?

pillows are comfy. but i would not wear those either.

animals have nice, comfy fur. but you wouldn't catch me wearing one of those dead animals around my neck.

crocs and uggs are the ugliest things ever. i have never seen such ugly footwear.

If you really want to be comfortable wearing your Crocs, get on an escalator and stand next to the sides of it. You will have the most comfortable feelings ever!

They actually were pretty comfortable, though.

I just remember a quote by Bill Maher about croc shoes.

New Rule: Stop wearing plastic shoes. It was only a year ago when only preschoolers and mental patients wore these, but now grown-ups all over America have gone Croc crazy, — the latest step in our unending quest to dress as casually as humanly possible. I used to wear flip-flops, but they’re a little dressy. I want clothing I can hose down. Admit it, we’re a nation of slobs who won’t be happy until we can go to the mall in a diaper.

So, what's the difference between real and fake crocs?

Lol, I only like those blue ones because they are blue :P Not too much of a fan of the holes though o.o
