I wore my first pair of crocs untill they got holes into them. My newer pair (wich are over a year old now) are still in pretty good condition. I got annoyed with them because they made me fall down a lot. =\

I've found some of the fakes to be quite comfy.

And that's the whole point of the shoe. They're so ugly they're cute. Kind of like the Smart car, except Crocs are probably more crash-worthy.

Gotta love all those great colors, too. Maybe those who hate Crocs just don't find them comfy, or maybe they're fashionistas, or maybe they just don't get the 'kawaiiiiii-ness' of teh Croc (which are popular in Japan).

Or wutevs.

Or maybe we just have functional eyeballs and realize that they're ugly as sin. ;)

EDIT: Also why would I give a flying flip about what's popular in Japan? XD I live in America. Selling used panties in vending machines is popular in Japan too but you don't hear me saying that that's awesome. :p

No. I am referring to REAL Crocs. They feel like sticky slimy rubberyness around my feet.

Could the slimeness possibly be because you tried my crocs? Just a thought:lol:...and Rion...since when have you been normal or wanted to be normal? Do I have to go PK on you?

But seriously folks...crocs look horrendous...and yet I don't care. Fashion isn't important to me...functionality is. And after having my favorite sneakers ruined by a deluge in Central Park on a Seniors Trip with my Youth Group...all I could think was "Gosh if I had crocs my feet would still be wet...but hey, I'd still have usable shoes...and socks since no one wears socks with crocs...hey that rimes..."

I wear socks with Crocs.

Maybe this is why no one else likes them. They're only supposed to be worn barefoot at the beach.

And those of you who don't care what they're wearing in Japan---then why dress yourself according to ANY current fashion? Or do you all design and sew your own stuff?

Crocs are cute. Japanese people recognize cute when they see it. I thought this was an anime board; maybe I was wrong.

My point is that nobody is normal.

Everyone has their quirks, making everyone abnormal by default.

So the Japanese are the ultimate dictators of what is cute? And are you saying that people here who don't like crocs and are therefore not following Japanese fashion are hypocrites because this is an anime board? Just because this is an anime board doesn't mean we're going to follow every Japanese fashion statement, XD.

1. If I followed the trends in Japanese fashion as opposed to American fashion, I'd be pretending to be something I'm not. Which in this case, is Japanese.

What I do follow, however, is my own personal taste and style. Hence, I wear tailcoats, converse, goggles, fedoras, flatcaps, and the list goes on.

2. I'm not sure what the Japanese have to do with what is "cute" and what is not. Nor am I aware of the connection between this and anime forums.

i think Ryan is a pretty cool guy. eh uses circular reasoning and doesn't afraid of anything. ^_~

Actually, that's not quite right. That would mean quirky = normal, and everyone is. Also, what do you define as "quirks"? Most would call them small abnormalities.

I think what you mean to say is that everyone is unique, and therefore "normal" does not strictly exist. Which isn't a perfect argument, since we can still observe mostly universal traits (and I don't mean physical) among human beings, but I do agree with you that the idea of "normal" is VASTLY overrated.

I think they're funny-looking but if I needed to do a lot of walking, I'd wear some.

I bought some of the Wal-Mart fakey kind. They don't look ANYTHING like the real thing at all. XD They're actually cute. I bought them to wear to the pool because I hate flip-flops with a raging passion.

They look like this except not that awful yellow color. XD Mine are kind of a sandy color.

Those aren't that bad. I've also seen flip flop versions that look nothing like the originals and they don't look that bad either.

I don't get why people were socks with Crocs :P I mean, aren't the holes suppose to allow your feel to breath and not get all stinky and sweaty XD?

I also saw some sandal versions of crocs that had no holes whatsoever, but I couldn't find them to post up 8(

As for liking what Japanese likes.. That all depends on one's taste don't you think ^^? There's gonna be things that people may or may not like that the Japanese like ^_^ It all depends on one's taste ^__~

I think it's been stated NUMEROUS times we don't like them because they're ugly. And also because Hitler wore them. XD
And those of you who don't care what they're wearing in Japan---then why dress yourself according to ANY current fashion? Or do you all design and sew your own stuff?

I don't dress according to any current fashion. See, I have this thing called a Y chromosome, which makes me a dude, and therefore immune to fashion. I wear jeans and a t-shirt. Always. No matter what (some slight exceptions, like for Crash's wedding, where I wore a collared shirt and khakis).

Japan thinks shounen-ai and yaoi is cute. So that means we have to agree that it is, right? Because otherwise we'd be denying what almighty Japan decrees. And God knows we can't do that.
[quote]I thought this was an anime board]
I thought this was a board where people could have dissenting opinions on subjects; maybe I was wrong. :p

We think crocs are ugly. So what? Are we somehow preventing you from wearing them? Are we calling for banning them from stores? Who cares what we think about crocs? You can still wear them without our approval.

Or is it, perhaps, that deep down inside you know in your heart that these shoes are godawful and you're simply denying it, and every time we make known our disapproval of them, it makes you hurt inside? ;)
