I'll be writing tomorrow. I'm currently doing some frankensteining on my parents' computer in order to get them back to running properly.

My goal is to hit 20,000 words before the end of the weekend. Which is very possible with what I got in my mind.

I just wanted to say that all of you are very inspiring to me, even if I'm not doing NaNoWriMo. All of your efforts are really making me want to write, and get off my lazy bum and finish some of these projects I have sitting around. So, whether you reach your goals by the end of the month or not, in a way you've already succeeded, because you're an inspiration.
You can find out things about the past that you never knew. And from what you've learned, you may see some things differently in the present. You're the one that changes. Not the past.

I have a question for everyone. I know it can vary a lot, but what are your opinions on chapter length? How long are your chapters more or less and what makes you decide on the length?

I actually don't write in chapters. I just figure I can find natural breaks later and handle it then.

Well, I've seen books where the chapters are like 2 paged. I kid you not. (Read the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson) He's like known for his itty bitty chapters XD.

I think my chapters are too long right now. But I'm going to go in and change the lengths of them later...

Because right now on word my chapters are like 20 pages...and if it this were a book that one would be reading...that could be up to 30-40 pages XD

I tend to only use chapters when the story can be compartmentalized, generally divided by major plot plot developments or radical location shifts. For example, in my novel, I string together a couple scenes in tandem with a single location, clocking in at about 7,346 words. That's a decent chapter length.

8,563 so far, and I may be doing a lot more tonight. I may actually hit 10,000.

I am currently at the point where my FMC (hereforth to be called Lanie) is in the throes of a mini-breakdown, and my MMC (herefore to be called Brad) has his arms around her, cradling her as she sobs her heart out. It's the start of a very...interesting relationship, indeed.

EDIT: 9,486. I did nearly 2500 words tonight. I am well on my way to making 10,000 sometime tomorrow.

Well, glad to see everyone's doing well.

...

Wow, this was not a good week for me. I'm about 6000 words behind right now. More, if you count where I wanted to be, not where I have to be. I was going to catch up a little bit tonight and do the rest tomorrow, but then I had to go help our youth couple clean up their house that they are moving into soon. That cut out about five hours of my evening. I guess I should at least try to get a little bit done tonight.

Oh yeah, I've taken care of my laptop issues, but then I decided to put Kubuntu on it, so I'm also wasting time (in a good way) trying to figure that out. Plus I don't think my wireless card works with Kubuntu, so I have to either use a network cable or restart and switch back to Windows if I want to get on the internet. And actually, the network cable is almost easier, because I've currently moved my bedroom to the living room as my room is being repainted and it kinda stinks up there and it's really dusty. This has not been my week.

Ahh, that felt good.

Okay, everyone. Well, thanks for listening to me rant (if you actually did) and good luck with your NaNoes. XD

9486 last night, 11020 right now. I have 25 minutes to go, and if I can make 12000 words tonight, that'll be a major goal.

I am currently in the middle of Brad's dialogue with Lanie, in her living room as she recovers from a mini-breakdown and a twisted ankle, where Brad is trying to give her all the reasons why she is awesome and why he wants to be her "guardian" (read: God-focused boyfriend)

Eh, it's late. It's 5:11AM, and I reached 11,509 words. I'll make up the difference tomorrow. 3500 words, and I'll be in great shape. Things are starting to shape up, and Brad just made a fool of himself in asking her to be in a relationship.

23,605 words. I actually reached this number on Thursday, but I've been in Oklahoma City for the past two days, so I have been lax in my writing. Still, I'm almost halfway done, and the month is halfway done, so I feel pretty good.

Also, I'm almost done with the first act of my novel! Yeah! :D Only two more long-winded acts to go! At this rate, I'm going to be pressing 100K by the time I finish. XD

I got killed by a parody movie tonight. I'm going to see if I can write, but I'm thinking it may be time for me to hit the sack early.

Tomorrow most certainly, though.

46,504 as of right now, but I plan to keep writing for another few hours. Maybe I can meet 50,000 tonight 8D.

I'm not sure if I'll finish at 50,000 or not XD I think I've probably got another 10,000-20,000+ words left in the story, we'll just have to see though!

I told my mom about my idea xD she told me she honestly thinks I should pitch it to a publishing company... hmm... Are any of you guys going to pitch yours?

Yep. But I also plan to do a lot more with it down the line. I may only be at 11-5 right now, but I plan to see this through to the end.

I should feel better tonight. I don't have that cheezy crud from last night's parody movie in my head. :D

My speech is OVER. PARTAY. I'm really hoping that's what's been holding me up the past few days, like I think, because otherwise, I'm doomed. >.< I'm not sure if I'll be able to write tonight, because I have ensemble practice and math homework that needs to be done, but tomorrow I plan to get back into my NaNo full swing!

I had three days of stuff that wouldn't let me concentrate on anything, so I'm really behind. Thanksgiving break is looking hopeful for me to push even further after writing like crazy for the rest of this week, XD. Right now I'm a little under 11,500.

Wow, CK, congrats on reaching the goal (at least, you will soon)! And congrats to anyone else who is close to it.

I don't know what will happen with me and writing tonight. I've hit a wall, due to "Outside of Writing" issues. That, and depression is trying to weasel it's way back again.
