I recently watched The Fall (fantastic movie), The Golden Compass (Those bears make the whole movie) and Fireworks, which was a fairly solid cop drama.

Two short films by Tim Burton:
Frankenweenie was funny and moderately interesting. It had quite a few nods to the original Frankenstein book.
Vincent made me happy inside. It was absolutely amazing. Awesome tribute to Edgar Allen Poe.

The extended version is 4 hours and 50 minutes??? I knew it was long but I was thinking more a long the lines of 4 hours... no wonder I've never bothered to sit down and watch it (and I've owned all 3 special editions since their release)
Me I saw the Strangers. A cheap horror movie. Actually it could have been good. It had good moody lighting, chilling music, and built up atmosphere quite well. But I thought it was a bit too unrealistic as far as character actions and then it had such an anti climatic ending. Not to mention
[spoiler]Liv Tyler just wouldn't die... even though she was the good guy, she was like the killer in most horror movies in that no matter how many times you think they're dead, they just keep coming back to life[/spoiler]

Just saw Slumdog Millionaire and I absolutely adored it. The care that Danny Boyle took into making this film was incredible, and although it was sad, poignant and even disturbing at times, it never felt unrealistic. I recommend it.

I took my friend through "Dr. Strangelove" for his first time today. I plan on watching "Yojimbo" and "Sanjuro" sometime this week.

Wacthed Amazing Grace last night...the first time I watched it, it really felt like they were missing some stuff (more references to God)....But since then I've grown in my understanding, and really enjoyed it to it's fullest....

I watched Seven Samurai today, and tomorrow I should be watching Samurai Fiction or Ran. Not sure which one yet, but probably Samurai Fiction.....I'm a fan of Tomoyasu Hotei.

You may consider my stomach completely full. I enjoyed TNBC (it was my first time watching it), but have to say that the songs started to get a bit annoying after a while. Especially the Boogieman's song. Other than that, I liked it more than I thought I would (the kid getting a shrunken head for Christmas was especially funny), although I liked Vincent more.

Oh, Oogie Boogie's Song is one of my favorites!
