Shutterbox v. 4: the only American manga-style comic I have found worth reading. Good series, charmingly literary.

Billy Bat vol. 1-3

The Moon landing, Eastern and Western comics, the JFK assassinations, prostitutes, soviet spies, conspiracy theories, Jesus, ninjas, Mickey Mouse, St. Xavier, and possessed scrolls. If it were any other author than Naoki Urasawa I would be worried. As it is, I am slightly perturbed.

I recently started reading WaqWaq, a short series from the author of Hoshin Engi. Its okay, and I only have one volume to go. I also read volume 19 of Kekkaishi.
No pain, no gain. I would prefer no pain, but still gain.

Please Save My Earth vol 2 and 3- It's a little hard to keep track of everyone due to their character designs, and the fact that it's such a huge cast, but other than that, I'm really liking this series :)

I read the first volume of Library Wars today. It's pretty obvious where this is going, honestly, but it's a unique setting for it, so I'm honestly curious how it is going to get there. The art was nice, too, so yeah, I'll continue this one. And I'll recommend it, too. ;)

Natume's book of friends vol 1. I love this manga already! It reminds me of spirited away. Nyanko sensei is funny and mischievious. =^.^=

I recently finished an interesting (and relatively short) romance seinen manga called SWWEEET by Aoyama Kei. This one contains some mature situations. It essentially deals with a love triangle and some crazy and disturbing stuff transpires. It's got a bit of the Asano Inio vibe to it, although it's a notch or two down in terms of psychological weirdness or disturbing stuff (as found in, say, Nijigahara Holograph or Hikari no Machi). Not bad for a short read.

A sienen called Wendy. An interesting take on Peter Pan, but rather violent and crude. I wasn't that impressed with it. I liked the ending and the whole take on Neverland though- I really did! Maybe I can incorporate that into a story....

Both of those series I would love to read. Unfortunately, my library doesn't have them, so either 1.) I would have to buy them or 2.) I would have to tell my library to get them and wait a couple weeks. :(

I'm reading Death Note. It's one of those series you can't put down. I just finished Honey and Clover vol. 1, and I'm really liking it.

Reading BLAME! vol. 3. I have 1 through 6 but I never finished the series. So I'm gonna re-read those, pick up 7 through 10 at Otakon (since it seems to be a hard series to find in stores), then maybe check out the prequel, NOiSE.

Finished "Chobits" (at last!), slowly plowing thru "xxxHolic", intrigued by 2 volumes of "Bound Beauty" & reading various romantic comedy manga in between. Oh, & starting on "Rurouni Kenshin" (finally!).

Finished BLAME! last night. The last two or three volumes are really abstract and difficult to follow. Overall though, a pretty good (and comfortably brief) manga series. Next, the single-volume prequel story, NOiSE.
