Cute stuff. And sorta weird, but eh. Good plot!

It's a show you should all go watch.

[b]Wolf's Rain --Complete -- no, I did not watch the OVAs, I did not care enough so someone kindly summarized them for me. I found it boring when I first started it months ago, but after everyone's glowing reviews went back to it and actually enjoyed it fairly well. However, I would not watch it again and was not necessarily "impressed", just enjoyed it.
Yeah, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who felt that way.MightiMidget (post: 1419964) wrote:Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind--Complete -- grated at me. greatly. And it was boring. However, the base concept was cool and the music was pretty...
The manga, of which the movie only covers vol. 1, is supposed to be excellent.MightiMidget (post: 1419964) wrote:Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind--Complete -- grated at me. greatly. And it was boring. However, the base concept was cool and the music was pretty...

This is pretty much word for word how I feel about the show. The piano playing in time with the water droplets is just perfectly done--but the rest of the OP isn't. The anime itself isn't as scary or disturbing, probably because I don't care for any of the characters, but it does have some great moments. Like when
The Creepy Guy is trying to claw out of his casket and the wood shavings fall into his eyes. He doesn't blink or try to turn away at all, he just leaves them there like a dead person would. That along with the fact that he can't talk because he isn't breathing are two awesome details that add so much to the story. I hope there is more like it.
I just wonder were it is going to go now after the big reveal. We have about two-thirds of the show to go, so what direction is it going to take? I am plenty curious enough to keep watching in order to find out.Atria35 wrote: Shiki3-8- okay, this is better than those first two eps made out. I seriously thought that this would be rather silly (the OP just doesn't have the atmosphere of Higurashi's op- hard rock IS NOT CREEPY, and the rather obvious CG into skeletons doesn't do it for me- if they'd just kept with the tune at the very end, with the raindrops and everything, it would have been much more effective). But the creep factor went up in ep 4, which I really enjoyed. While I'm not scared, it does provide enough atmosphere to keep me tense about what's going to happen.
