I think one of the really interesting things about the music of the Macross metaseries as a whole is that, because of how important it is and how prominently it's displayed, it's sort of a reflection of music at the time of the show's creation. I've only seen DYRL and I haven't seen Macross 7, but I've heard music from the original and 7 and it's fascinating to see that the style of music change both in the real world and in the Macross timeline. In Macross, we've got the 80s pop going, while we have more rockish stuff in the 90s with Macross 7. Once we reach Macross F, we're into 2000s J-pop and the songs that we heard from Macross and Macross 7 have been canonized as classics.

Gankutsuou 2-3- Dark. A very nice dark. I can't wait to see where this goes!
School Rumble 7- Still cute/funny.
Himitsu -Top Secret- 5- The draaaamaaa. But I think this is also a 2-ep arc, so I haven't seen the ending yet. Interesting stuff, though. Reminds me of Grey's Anatomy, just with police investigators instead.

Peeked at Gankutsuou. That one disturbed me.

School Rumble looks okay. The reviews say nudity, so that bothers me, unless it doesn't happen frequently (in other words, scenes be few and short enough to skip over without missing key story components).

Himitsu - Top Secret -- I found Top Secret ~The Revelation~ . I think that's what you're talking about. It looks quite interesting.

I haven't seen any nudity so far in School Rumble, and I'm 7 episodes in. Which makes me wonder....
Himitsu goes under several names, like Himitsu -Top Secret-, and as you said, Top Secret -The Revalation-. I'm just using what it's labeled on MAL, so I don't confuse myself. It's interesting- really interesting- but if you're bothered by nudity/sexual stuff, then you should stay far away.
The main guy is in love with his sister (he peeks at her while she's undressing), and there are several times you see sexual situations either blatantly (not like hentai, though), or partial nudity. Which is important to the plot, so there's no skipping it
I'm up to FMA Brotherhood episode 54 now and watched Paranoia Agent episodes 11 and 12 today.

Is it me, or do the characters in FMA, most notably Pride, get some serious eyeliner in the later episodes? XD

That's super interesting, blkmage. Does the OVA series Macross Plus fit into your paradigm? It's the only other Macross I've seen. The soundtrack is another stunning collection by Yoko Kano. It's kind of all over the shop stylistically, even more so than Cowboy Bebop.

Are the love triangle angles (tongue twister) in the later Macross iterations just copies of the original or do they do different things with them? In MP the triangle consists of two guys and a girl, whereas SDF's triangle is made up of two girls and a guy. Also, the way the relationships conform/don't conform to expectations is different in MP from SDFM.

I can't really say, since the only actual Macross TV series I've seen is Frontier. I will say that a lot of stuff in Frontier is intended to be a callback to the original Macross, in sort of the same way Gundam Seed was for the original Mobile Suit Gundam. Except that Frontier is actually good.

So I finished Highschool of the Dead which did not match projections. I stuck with it because it was only twelve episodes, but basically, my hope was that the anime version would turn down the dial on the fanservice levels. It turns out the opposite happened. I guess when Madhouse decides to do fanservice, they decide to go in whole hog. The adaptation itself wasn't very good, because it seemed to end in a weird inconclusive spot, sort of like Ookami-san did.

But, the reason I do not regret watching it is because it introduced me to Kishida Kyoudan and the Akeboshi Rockets, the band that did the OP. They started out as a Touhou arrange group and they are really awesome (awesome enough to get signed by Geneon after doing a few years worth of Touhou albums for Comiket and Reiseitai). Don't watch Highschool of the Dead, but totally do listen to Kishida Kyoudan and the Akeboshi Rockets.

I watched the second episode of Eureka Seven, since it got positive feedback from a few people on here. IT'S AWESOME.

And I'm re-watching Romeo x Juliet with my brother who hasn't seen it before. Or actually, this is my third time re-watching... O__O

But it's really that good. Except the animation gets lacking/weird around the Mantua arc (the faces' proportions look poorly done) but besides that and the aggravating additions of Escalus and Ophelia, it's one of my favorites.

A quote from my brother after the episode where Romeo meets Juliet for the first time:
"Why can't I have magical moments with girls?!?" XD

Porco Rosso- the second time 've seen it- the first time was so very long ago. But I have to say, I loved it! And there was absolutely nothing wrong with the ending. Inconclusive, yes, but that's not always a bad thing. A sequel would ruin the ending of the first movie.

Clannad is sooo good. After Story is even better (after the filler episodes at the beginning). There's one episode that hit me as hard as anything I've ever watched. REALLY good series. I pretty much like anything Key does, though I'm pretty so-so about Air.

Agreed 100%.
Air was the least favorite out of the three series.
Clannad was hands down my favorite.
Kanon was cute and good too, but just not as fun as Clannad was.
Air was just sad in my opinion, and I can't think of a reason why I'd want to watch it again.

I liked Kanon the best, though Clannad was close behind.

I see you haven't seen Angel Beats! yet, though...its tone is quite different from (and yet the same as) the others.

Watched episode 4 of Fullmetal Alchemist and the first 4 episodes of Vampire Knight. FMA is awesome.....I already bought season 1! *is excited when it comes*. Vampire Knight is....it's good, but I wouldn't call it my favorite (the opening song and animation is beutiful!). The dub of VK is OK. Mela Lee (I think that's hr name), the voice of Yuki, I think she's growing into her part. This is the second time I have seen her in a role (she was Shinku in Rozen Maiden, and did excellent). The headmaster is hs good actin. Everyone else is...OK. However, Vic as Zero....he does a SPECTACULAR JOB! Now I know why he's used alot...he actually gets into his characters, it doesn't simply sound like he's reading off a script! And of course.....he does spectacular as Edward Elric in FMA!!! I have yet to see both these anime in Japanese....I should watch the sub for comparison.

 There's actually kind of an explanation for Pride, at least:

Well, I've now watched up to episode 38 of Kaitou Saint Tail. I think I'm ready for the home stretch now!

Continuing slowly with Honey and Clover which is, without a doubt, one of the best anime I have ever seen. It is a little hard for me to watch, because it strikes painfully close to home for me. Even the famous Twister scene from episode 8 was oddly familiar...although the game in question was played on the stairs rather than with all sorts of weird colors. =)

So with Mom, I rewatched episodes 5-10, and continued on, finishing all of the Season 1 Part 1 boxset with her. I never would of thought my mom would enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist, but she does! We watched 3 whole discs in one day! XD!!!! Oh well, I enjoyed it! Can't wait for the second boxset to finish off Season 1! (So far, my fave episode is "Full Metal vs. Flame" 'cause it was HILARIOUS!).

Sengoku Basara Ni showed me clearly that I did not enjoy Sengoku Basara as much as I remembered and so that got dropped.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama was entertaining, but ultimately, there's very little substance. It's a fairly good adaptation of the manga, which I guess is why it failed. The ending was where I expected it to be and it leaves a second season open. Fortunately, the anime skipped over many arcs that I found tiresome. Unfortunately, there's not much else left to adapt that isn't those arcs. I guess the bottom line is that this is another average shoujo show about poor, overachieving girls and rich, overachieving boys with rich people problems.

That's what I get for continuing to dash myself against the rocks hoping for another shoujo series that will match the greatness of Kare Kano. For the record, the only one that is still on that track so far is Kimi ni Todoke.

Occult Academy turned out to be pretty decent and is actually the best of the three Anime no Chikara shows. It seems that the timeslot didn't do quite well enough, as the fourth show, Fractale, is going to be airing in winter during noitaminA. Oh well. As for the show itself, it's the intro/random/conclusion type show again. The novelty of it was just enough to keep it going for thirteen episodes and the ending was one of the better ones.
