(yes and I am not ashamed to admit that) It was a very cute (if I'm allowed to use that word) show and I highly recommended it to anyone.

What we have here is top-tier shounen stuff. For the first 50 or so episodes, rather than attempting to subvert or transcend the genre, HnG squeezes the shounen sponge for all its worth. It covers all the bases you'd expect from a show of its kind, but HnG just nails the execution. A board game never seemed so intense, so dramatic. You really can't help but be sucked in by the great directing. Also, the show is supposedly a fairly honest reflection of the actual world of professional Go in Japan.
