Out of all the things that make Macross better than Robotech, not having to hear this is probably number one.

So I watched the first 5 episodes of "Black Cat". It's a series I have been interested in for a little while ever since I saw the boxset at Best Buy. Well, it's not what I expected. I mean, I expected action, but man....I was not expecting those hilarious moments! (Even the "Next Episode" segments are funny!). Plus, some of my ultimate fave dub voice overs are in there! Jason Liebrecht and Caitlin Glass!! There was even some Todd Haberkorn in a couple episodes!

The only thing that kinda bothered me is Creed. He appears to have a somewhat sick love for Train. But that aside, it's a pretty good series. Oh well, he seems liek the villain-y type anyway, and that gives me more of a reason to not like him XD!!!

Yeah, it's more of an action comedy than anything... just wait -_-; (The middle is FLUFF, but still plenty likable)

Just finished Kemono no Souja Erin.
It was really good, I couldn't stop watching.

Only...
I didn't like the last episode. It was way too open and hinty. They should have just said that Jesh's father was Ia lu. What happened to all the men on the battle field? Dahmiya trying to kill the princess was lame, because Ia lu should have just chopped his head off. Erin being saved by Lilian was kinda dumb for me and... The fact that they 'showed' what happens to everyone afterwards with a 30 second slide show of them smiling gold colored was really stupid.
Otherwise, I really loved it and enjoyed it.
Here's hoping for a second season!

All of which is fairly typical for a children's show- which is exactly what KnSE is. I was honestly more annoyed by
the two comedic sidekicks they gave Erin. Sooooo annoying and fairly pointless. I also totally did not catch who Jesh's father was- how did you infer that?
I totally agree about Mok and Nok.
As for that...
It's in the books. Jesh is the son of Erin and Ia lu. (I've read around and done my research.) Plus they totally hint at them being in love with each other. *episode 46 and onwards* I figured it out right away because Jesh looks so much like his dad. :D
I guess they were trying to endear Minmay to the fans before she became super-annoying...which happens pretty quickly. Probably my least favorite anime character ever, Minmay.

YES! VERY ANNOYING!!! (And *spoiler alert* she's one of the only ones to have survived at the end of the series!!! :hits_self )

Yeah, I saw the infamous "Minmay takes a shower" episode already. Actually I think I'm on episode 9 now. I'm still enjoying it but I am so unsure of what to think of Maximilian Jenius, partly because I don't think Kamiya Akira's voice suits him. I like Kamiya Akira, but Max has like, this kinda girly haircut and glasses, and then this manly voice comes out of his mouth and I'm like "wut".

Also Roy Focker reminds me of Sleggar Law from Gundam. He even LOOKS like him.

That was on purpose, actually.

Noburo Ishiguro, director of the anime series Superdimensional Fortress Macross said in an interview with the magazine Gundam ACE that the character Roy Focker was like a son of Sleggar Law. In fact they both have striking similarities, but Focker has a much more transcendence and protagonism in Macross. Ishiguro said that he really liked the character of Sleggar, so he wanted to have someone like him in Macross, but also with a more significant participation in the series.

After a 3-day trip to Sacramento, I fell behind in my viewing schedule. So, to make up for it, I marathoned the last 10 episodes of Durarara!! on Monday.

That's a heavy series. A good one, though.

So now Code Geass takes center stage, at 2 eps a day. And today I'm starting Ah! My Goddess at one ep a day, but... I'm in a bit of a dilemma. Sub or Dub for that? I checked the reviews list and it seems we only have reviews for a movie and an OVA, and nothing for Season 1 and 2. A little help, please? Eheh...

After having to listen to both sub and dub, I can honestly say I think they're both good. I'm slightly fonder of the original Japanese voices, but that's personal preferance.

Yeah, I found a review article of the dub, which gave it a C+. So I'm going with sub. I'm halfway into the first episode right now and I can tell its going to be a good series. Animation style is fresh (a little like Cowboy Bebop, esp. in lineart), music is great (I want the score when I'm done with the series, for taking scenic drives in Spring), and the atmosphere reminds me of the lighter side of Chobits.

Also, I forgot to mention that I marathoned 5 eps of Code Geass in order to catch up the schedule. Heh.

Oh yeah! I've been a fan for years, I've seen anything that has to do with Hokuto No Ken-- the movies, OVA, Raoh Ten no Haoh, you name it I've watched it >:D It's too amazing to pass up. Which surprises most folks, since I am indeed an 18 year old female :P

And hah, love the screen cap, that was a funny part of Raoh Ten No Haoh. Too bad they only made 13 episodes of that little series, it was quite enjoyable! :D

I watched a crapload of Macross yesterday. This show is addictive. I think I'm on episode 18 already. Needless to say, I am enjoying it.
I cried so hard when Roy died. When I saw the episode title, "Pineapple Salad", and then Claudia invited him to try some of her pineapple salad, I was like "I have a bad feeling about this". So I sort of saw it coming but it still hit me really hard. .___. Also NOOO KAKIZAKI ;_;
I really want Hikaru to get over Minmay and move on with his life. He's not an unlikeable guy, he just needs to get his priorities straight. Minmay is totally unlikeable now. I was okay with her at first but now I'm just like :I And Kaifun can go jump off a cliff. That guy...grrr.

Also, those three Zentradi spy dudes are freaking awesome.

By the way, I got Max's voice actor's name wrong earlier. It's not Kamiya Akira, it's Shou Hayami. Derp!

Yup, I'm surprised. Craziness. Can't say you have a lot of comapny, eh? Without trying to sound like Richard Keys, I was wondering what appeals to you about FotNS as a woman? It seems like such a "dude" show, if you know what I mean.

Now, on to what I've been watching.

Full Metal Panic - Complete

I liked this show but didn't love it. I was really into it at the beginning, laughing at the jokes and enjoying the action/drama. But the middle felt kind of "off" I guess. Nothing wrong with the plot in theory, but it was just kind of jarring to leave out all but one of the familiar characters. FMP! truly fizzled out in the final third. The animation takes a dip in quality as does the story. Dat ending. Loose ends a-go-go. The villain turned out to be a HUGE disappointment. What was his motivation again? Sigh. Still and all, however, I liked it more than disliked it. Great moments in the beginning, and I cared a lot about the mains throughout. The initial premise was really clever. Sousuke and Kaname played off of each other really, really well. Straight man and straight-er man. Those two will bring me back for The Second Raid. I mostly remained entertained, if not blown away, the whole time. A solid show, even if it creeps over the finish line.

On the polar opposite of that, I've also finally started watching Soul Eater this week.
