LoZ:OoT3DS adv. with Robin William's beard...

Postby Wallachia » Wed Jun 15, 2011 3:32 pm

.. and his daughter, Zelda.
The advertisment.
Interview of sorts where Robin Williams and his daughter talk about video games and make jokes about what he could have named her, like Epona.

You should have put something about his amazing beard in the title.

Seriously, his beard is amazing.

He's not wacky. He's just a dedicated fan of the series.

He's also a huge fan of Evangelion, going so far as including the Spear of Longinus in Robots, and buying a Mass Production Evangelion figure in One Hour Photo.
The figure in question is from his personal Anime collection.

I liked these videos, thanks for posting them! :D It's cool that his daughter's named after Princess Zelda. That's just awesome.

...And I wish I had a 3DS (or easy access to one) so I could play the game, but that's nothing new. XD

Well, Robin Williams is wacky, regardless of Zelda. And...I gotta say, even if one's a dedicated fan of a game, it's still a bit wacky to name a child after a character in it.

@ TWWK-Not any more wacky than naming your child after a number. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRUdaWZ4FN0

Maybe less so! But I'd consider that wacky also.

On a side note, I've used the word "wacky" in this thread more than I have probably in my lifetime until this point. :P

I thought my niece was crazy for naming her kids after surnames.

I won't mention their actual names for security's sake, but I'll give some examples:

Imagine naming your kid Miller, Thompson, and Lopez. As their first names. That sort of thing is surprisingly common in some areas, and I think it's absurd.

Some surnames already count as good first names (Like Smith... used to, and Gordon still does) but some are just... pretentious?

I don't know, I don't think she's doing it out of a sense of "I'm better" or whatever, but that's the vibe I'd get from it just hearing it, though.
