The Dragon Children: Second Generation

Eulalia looked about a little more and glanced at someone who was fidgeting with their cloak in a frustrated manner, as if he was trying to hide something. Eulalia, being the curious snoop she was, and after a nod of approval from Berenike, walked over to the man cautiously. Though she really didn't need to be cautious. Everyone here was or has been part of the Resistance. Eulalia was cautious, none the less, and cleared her throat before speaking.

"Um... Excuse me, but... What exactly are you doing?" Eulalia asked him, trying to see what he was possibly trying to hide.

[Derek_Is_Me]

Jason had heard someone walking towards him from behind by only a few seconds before he heard someone clear their throat and ask,"Um... Excuse me, but... What exactly are you doing?" Jason took a deep breath and calmed his nerves which were shouting at him to attack. Turning ever so slightly towards the person that was questioning him. Jason covered his shoto quickly with his cloak which at that time decided to conceal his sword fairly well.'Why of all the times to work for me you buggery cloak!'thought jason angrily. Taking a good look at the person before him. Jason realized that it was a young girl. Maybe about 13 or so in years with short red hair.

Clearing his throat quickly Jason looked at the curious young girl.

"I'm sorry little miss. I just had a problem with my cloak. I couldn't seem to get it to straighten out and I hate it when my clothes are a mess."replied jason with a goofy grin on his face to calm her.

[Ally-Ann]

Eulalia raised an eyebrow. Little miss? I'm not four. Eulalia thought in annoyance before standing up straight.

"All right, then. My name's Eulalia, future--" Eulalia started, but was interrupted once more by Berenike clearing her throat. "Oh, sheesh, 'Nike. Fine." She turned back to the man and and smiled. "What's your name?"

[Mister]

Morigan approached Jason and Eulalia, smiling sweetly, "Hello." she began somewhat shyly, "My name is Morigan, may i have the honor of knowing your names?"

[Derek_Is_Me]

Jason laughed heartily at the antics of Eulalia and her dragon. It had been awhile since he had seen someone so young bickering like school children with their dragon. Jason tensed slightly when Eulalia asked for his name,'What should I say? I can't possibly tell her my real name. She'll hate me if I do. Arashi, what should I call myself?'questioned jason to arashi in a matter of moments.

'hmmm...call youself Joseph as a cover little one.'stated Arashi calmly.

'Why must you always call me little one? I'm not a young boy anymore.'thought jason.

'Maybe because your just a hatchling compared to a being such as myself.'

'Your younger then me!'shouted jason in his mind. Composing himself quickly jason looked at Eulalia and smiled softly at her."Well miss Eulalia. My name is Joseph if that makes you happy."said jason smoothly.

Upon hearing someone else approach. Jason tensed when he turned slightly to see the angel Morigan standing behind him. 'Oh boy. This just got complicated.'thought jason sarcastically. Taking a deep breath. Jason stilled himself and put up the best mental shields that he had up to guard his mind. Smiling slightly at the angel, jason stated simply with an air of confidence,"My name is Joseph Fulbring. It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Morigan."

'That should hopefully work.'thought jason with nervousness.

Xavier timidly placed a hand on Revel's head.
"You're warm." he said. "Well, I think mommy and daddy are probably worried about me. I might as well go to them. It was nice meeting you. Maybe we can play together."
OOC: You're going the same way, masq, so why not follow him?

Man, this kid is shy....but... Revel thought, ...at least he's gentle...

Trevor watched the kid walk--or was it skip?--towards his parents. One of whom was the priestess holding the weapon ceremony. Which reminded him to get his weapon out of his bag. Which for some reason had disappeared.

Huh?....Where did it go?...

Revel glanced at the woods. You left them over there....Remember?

Right.....Thanks.
Trevor hurried back to the hollow he had hidden his bow and quiver. His strength was too weak for a sword, and his reflexes weren't quick enough for a knife or dagger. Trevor decided to use a bow. A long range weapon that did not require superior strength or agility to operate was perfect for him. An added bonus was the flammable tips. Of course, one needs fire in order for them to be effective, one of the advantages of having a Red dragon as a partner.

Trevor strapped both the bow and the quiver to his back. All right, let's go meet the parents!......For some reason that didn't sound right...

You have no idea.... Revel grudgingly got up, stretching his wings/forearms. The main problem with being a wyvern is you have to be careful where you put your arms. They tend to get caught on a low hanging branch. Showtime.

"Joseph?" Set repeated. "You look like someone I knew as a kid. Did you ever enter the Rathlian Lands?"
OOC: The Rathlian lands are near the outskirts of Heligrad.
--Joanne and Xavier--
"I'm fine, Ai. I must've felt the power transfer through my spritual link."
At that moment, Xavier saw his mother and ran towards her waiting, warm embrace.
"Xavier? Where have you been? I was just about to call you." she said warmly. Then she saw Trevor.
"Oh, I see." she said. She immediately bowed to Trevor as a token of greeting and an offering of friendship. "Thanks for watching over our boy." she said. "He's a bit on the timid side, but he means well. I hope he didn't give you too much trouble. Or talk your ear off. He tends to do that."

Trevor made a short bow. He most definitely didn't want to frighten Xavier's parents. That would be a bad impression. She seems kind....actually, she's kinda like Mom... Trevor shook the thought out of his head. No use thinking about home. If he didn't help, then there might not be a home anymore. Now, he must fight. Not for fame or riches. For his family. And maybe even his descendants....but one thing at a time.


Meanwhile, hidden in the shadow of the trees, a dark figure observed the gathering. He couldn't be caught. After all, he was a native to these parts. All he had to say was that he was just passing by or that he wanted to join the Resistance. After a few minutes, he slipped back into the shadows. ....This is perfect!....Master Yagami will be pleased.....He may even promote me!.... He found a stump midway into the forest, sat down, and began to write out the message.

The Resistance is recruiting.....

Anei slowed down as the barkings of the zools died off in the distance. We lost them... she thought to her companion. She was breathing hard. They flying really took it out of her. That was waaaaay too close. They almost had us for a minute.... replied Len. ...What do we do now? he asked after a pause. Anei didn't answer...because she didn't know. Suddenly she noticed a shape in the distance. Hey look, you see that? she mentally asked Len, pointing the the figure. Len glanced in that direction. Who's that? he asked. I'm not sure...we're too far. Come on, let's check it out. replied Anei, turning and walking towards the figure, trying not to be seen. Len followed behind her slowly.

[Ally-Ann]

Eulalia turned to Morigan. "I'm Eulalia," she stated, giving up on the 'future ruler' part. And wow. I'm meeting a lot of peas-- er-- people already.

Careful, Eulalia. Your thoughts become your words. Berenike warned upon noticing that Eulalia had almost used the word 'peasants'.

=Aristocles and Chrysanthe=

Chrysanthe sat down on the grass, not liking the uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach. Like someone was near them, even though she couldn't see them.

"You seem troubled, Chrysanthe. What's wrong?" Aristocles asked.

"It feels like someone is near us. I can't tell whose side they're on, either," Chrysanthe replied, looking around herself for any sign that she was being watched. She looked back into the shadows of the forest and squinted. She thought she could make out a figure, but she couldn't quite tell. Just incase it was someone, she inched closer to Aristocles.

"I think someone else is here. I'm not quite sure, though," She whispered to Aristocles.

The two riders stared at each other in an uncomfortable silence. Saphira snorted. 'I had listened to her when she had spoken to you.' She pointed her nose at the girl, 'This, hatchling, is Reika.' She maneuvered her head towards the other dragon, careful to give him some distance. 'And this, is Brylin.' Eruan raised an eyebrow. "Brylin, and Reika, huh? You two are new to the whole dragon thing too?"

Reika seemed slightly perturbed. "So what if I am? I'm seven years old, after all."

Jason looked at the new person next to him that was asking him a question. "I'm not sure if I've ever been to the Rathlian Lands. It just really depends on who you are? So, who ARE you?"asked Jason quizzically.

"Don't let his mask fool you, mommy." said Xavier. "He's really nice. He just can't breathe very well."
"I see. I've seen that kind of mask before." said Joanne. "What is your name, friend?"
Minerva and Kilin looked around worriedly.
Do you sense it too, old friend? Joanne asked telepathically, so as not to interrupt and alarm Trevor.
Yes. said Kilin. One of Adarah's spies is in the area. And someone else is here as well. We might as well hurry things along. I think we will need to have someone stand watch at intervals.

"I want you to know something, Eulalia. I teach you because I can see potential in you. I wouldn't waste my time if I didn't." said Karin. "Take that to heart, my friend." she said, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You've been at our temple for three years and I know you need friends more than anything. What do you say?"
--Set--
"Oh, where are my manners." said Set. "The name's Set. I'm second-in-command of our group. My wife handles the spiritual matters, and I handle the physical ones. This is my dragon, Ba-Pef." He gestured to a green dragon.
The dragon snorted in greeting. He looked at Jason quizzically.

Jason reached his hand out to shake Set's hand."It is a pleasure to meet you set. And you as well Ba-Pef."stated Jason with a hint of happiness in his voice to throw them off.

'I need to throw these people off of me soon or they'll get suspicous.'thought jason.

'Arashi, get ready to get out of here. We can't stay here much longer. I have an odd feeling about this group of hatchlings.'

'As you wish Jason. Just be wary. I feel odd about this situation as well.'stated arashi.

Reika felt as though a slight nudge was entering her brain. Her mother was sending a telepathic message.
Yes mother, I understand she sighed. She took out a boomerang Karin's husband gave her and examined it, as if familiarizing herself with it.
"You'd better come with me." she said to Eruan. "My mother's starting the blessing ceremony for our weapons. Um...what's your name, anyway?" she asked.

Ai felt the hairs on the back of her neck bristling. Something was going on. Someone evil was nearby. She detected the mental conversation that went between her mentor and Kilin, then to Reika. She was having a bad feeling about this...

Trevor thought about reaching up to take his mask off, but he decided he shouldn't risk it again. He reached down into his bag, pulled out a scrap of paper, and handed it to Joanne. It said "[font="Comic Sans MS"]Trevor Trimera[/font]".
I hope she doesn't want to get into a conversation......That's the only paper I've got!

"....Finished..." The man rolled up his message and tied a scarlet cord around it. I must get it to my Master quickly! He heard a rustling in the bushes behind him.
....I was....Followed!?.... The man spun around and pulled out a small dagger.
...I didn't anticipate this...but oh well...More fun for me!

Eulalia looked at Karin, smirk gone, and her expression softened. She sighed and nodded, the enthusiastic vigor in her eyes replaced with thoughtful sorrow.

"It's just so hard. I know I'm hurting for friends, but it's hard to accomplish that goal when I have my mind set on another. Honestly, I'll never want for anything more if I could just save Chrysanthe from Adarah's forces," Eulalia said. "She stood out from the other kids at the orphanage. In an odd sort of way, I saw myself in her. I thought that maybe she could understand me and my goals instead of giving me weird looks like the caretakers and other kids."

Berenike sighed, a sympathetic smile crossing her face. She really does try. She doesn't know where to start, though.

Nefron listened and grew tense with his mate's words that there was already a spy watching them; it only made the need for Aaliyah to reenter Heilgrad soon. But today...he had never seen her so tired as an angel. But she had been training Morigan and passing threw the different realms more. He thought hard, sending a hopeful message to the earth in effort that it might reach Shaalon-the green dragon mage that now resided in Adelphe. If it didn't he, could always ask Aaliyah when she returned.

"Don't worry....spy or not...it won't keep us from our cause. How many more weapons need to be blessed?"

The young princess moved slowly threw the halls as if she were swimming in molasses; Iawia had resigned her powers over less than three hours ago and all of Adelphe were filling the power after shocks as the great Mother Goddess prepared to fade away. When a goddess died, her spirit would transcend to a realm within a realm-either to extreme peace or extreme torture. Pandora had been the first sister, and Iawia was sure to follow. Ariel looked down at her hands were were pale and shaking. Slowly she sat down and rested.

--Aaliyah--

"Wha?"

The dazzled angel looked around in the room in a dense haze before realizing she was in her own bed, though how she got their remained a mystery. Her entire body felt drained; she felt almost mortal again. Worried over the thought, she quickly grabbed her wings. They were cold, but still in decent shape without any fear of losing them. Her mind circled back to her former question: how did she get here? She remembered walking into the ceremony....then all went black. But she could feel something was different; she felt it not only in herself, but everything around her. Was this the transfer of Iawia's power? And were was Sophia? She had to go and see. Slowly, she raised herself upright and stumbled out off bed. Stumbles back crashes to the floor as she desperately tried to leave the suite.

--Adarah--

The young queen watched through her seeing glass with growing delight. Heilgrad had shifted; the demons were restless and rejoicing. Iawia's main power reading had vanished and the restrictions were slowly being lifted on the dark creatures. They could feel the holy seals break away like crisp leaves on an autumn day. With the political turmoil of Heilgrad and the argument of whether she was a suitable successor, then was helping to feed her image and power.

A large black dragon slowly came up to her side, peering into the large vat of blood.

"You wanted to see me, Your Majesty?"

"Yes.....bring me Yagami."

He stared at her boomerang for a second, then pulled his own sword out, stared at the blade, then slid it back into it's sheath. "Me? My name's Eruan." He gestured towards his dragon. "This is Saphira." He dusted himself off, "Now, I think we both have a weapons ceremony to get too."

"Yeah. My mom's a priestess. Look, I understand what that all means. But let me tell you, it's such a pain. Everyone expects me to be all quiet and stuff. But I want to be my own person. Is that wrong?" she sighed. "Follow me."
--Karin--
"Believe me, I know how it feels when you see a friend succumb to the snares of evil. I've had...experience." Karin stopped talking for a moment. "My sister's ready. You might want to follow me."
--Raphael--
Raphael heard Aaliyah stumble. He ran quickly to her side.
"Mother, are you all right?"
--Joanne--
"Trevor? Well, I am the High Spirit Mage Joanne, servant of Sophia." She noticed a small creek nearby and walked over to it. She bent down and cupped her hands into it, gathering up some water from it. She carefully walked back over to Trevor.
"Would you like some?" she asked.

Eruan raised an eyebrow, shrugged, and followed Reika.
'So, Saphira, what blessing do you think they'll bestow on Bedaestael?' She snorted. 'Probably something related to my element, ice or water are both likely.' He stared at the girl he was following. 'What do you think of these two?' She hesitated. 'I think there is more to the two of them then meets the eye. You should be extra careful, even around friends.' He sighed. 'I know Saphira, Uncle Brom drilled that into my head. I don't need to be reminded.'

[Ally-Ann]

"Believe me, I know how it feels when you see a friend succumb to the snares of evil. I've had...experience." Karin stopped talking for a moment. "My sister's ready. You might want to follow me."

Experience? Huh. Eulalia thought.

"My sister's ready. You might want to follow me," Eulalia heard Karin say.

"All right," Eulalia said as she nodded. Weapon blessing... I guess I forgot for a while that I was going to be fighting at some point or another. Eulalia said to Berenike through her thoughts.

Of course you'll be fighting. But remember, Eulalia. You'll be fighting out of justice, not just to fight. Fighting for peace and also for Chrysanthe's salvation. Berenike thought back, wanting her child to know that it's not right to fight out of pure want. Eulalia nodded.

For Chrysanthe...

"Let's do this!" Eulalia said enthusiastically, confident smile back and eyes shining with more vigor than before.

--Adarah--
"Yes.....bring me Yagami."

A man in an elegant robe sat at a stone table in the castle. Upon looking at him, he could be instantly recognized as the master of the castle. He was enjoying a moment of peace, which was interrupted by an exhausted messenger bursting into the room. "Master Ya-" The master threw a dagger at the messenger. It scratched his face and stuck in the wall.

"What have I said about barging in without permission?" said the robed man.

"I-I apologize, Master. It won't happen again."

"Good. Now, tell me why you suddenly decided to abandon all courtesy."

"A message has arrived from Heilgrad."

Yagami brightened. "Excellent. Tell Grandor to bring it to me."

"Grandor? But, why can't I?"

"Because," Yagami smiled. Viciously. "You're dead!"

The unfortunate messenger fell onto the ground. Yagami still smiled. "I never miss. Not even with poison daggers."

Two men entered and removed the body from the room. A third man entered.

"Ah, Grandor. Remind me to give the servants a lesson in courtesy later. Now, what does Adarah need?"

"She requests your presence."

Yagami gave a short sigh. "She never comes to visit anymore. Very well, bring Amarose and Max. We're going on a trip!"

--Joanne--
"Trevor? Well, I am the High Spirit Mage Joanne, servant of Sophia." She noticed a small creek nearby and walked over to it. She bent down and cupped her hands into it, gathering up some water from it. She carefully walked back over to Trevor.
"Would you like some?" she asked.

Trevor recognized the custom. He was about to reach for the water when he remembered his mask. ...I guess I'll chance it.... He took a deep breath and took his mask off. Trevor then stretched his cupped hands out. ....I must not breathe...not until...

[Diamond Dragon]

-Ai-
Ai looked around, trying to locate where the intruder was. I think he's over there... said Akita, slightly moving her head to some trees nearby. Ai nodded, then suddenly remembered the weapon ceremony. She took out her staff. It was made of maple, and had a large red stone set in the top.
-Anei-
Anei and Len hid behind a tree, and looked at the figure. I've seen him! Anei mentally said to Len. He's a spy for the demon Yagami! Len looked at Anei with wide eyes. He must be spying on that group of people and dragons! Who are they? he wondered. I'm not really sure.... replied Anei.

OOC: Diamond, Mages and apprentices do not use swords, they use staffs. Please edit.
"Trevor, my son is not old enough to have a dragon of his own. However, he seems to have taken a liking to you. Would you be his protector until he is old enough? Take this water as a sign of agreement." She handed the water to Trevor.
OOC: Everyone, gather around Joanne. I'll do the ceremony in my next post.

Eraun continued following her, until he lost her in a crowd of people. 'Well, guess the ceremony is starting.' He pulled Bedaestael out of the sheath, seeing his reflection in the saphire blade, he held it in his right hand while waiting for them to call for him.
