Things I liked about AnoHana:
Yukiatsu
The ending theme
The second half of the final episode

Things I didn't like:
The rest of it

How do people manage to watch more than one series at a time? Doesn't that get confusing?

For me it doesn't get confusing, especially since I have a MAL account.
But it does take forever (at least for me) to finish one entire series.

Not really. As Juliannesan mentioned, MAL helps, and usually the shows I'm watching are unique enough to be able to tell them apart. If I'm watching something on, say, Crunchyroll, then I let a few eps build up and then marathon them so I don't forget things between episodes. That also helps reinforce what's going on in which anime.

Anime's just TV, so if you're watching it as it airs, it's just like keeping up with any other serial.

Fair enough. I don't have a clue what MAL is though.

Blkmage, we have very little anime on TV in Australia so I forget that sometimes but it makes perfect sense.

I felt like the concept had a lot of potential, but the execution was really poor. If it had been more subtle I would probably have enjoyed it a lot, but as it was I felt like the drama was over the top and utterly ridiculous rather than affecting. I got tired that all there was to it was the characters screaming at each other and crying.

I could tell it was trying really hard to get an emotional reaction out of me but left me feeling...absolutely nothing. Failing to get an emotional response from me of all people (I'm extremely sentimental and cry in everything) is really pretty hard to do. Add to that the deus ex machina that started appearing in the middle, and the fact that I found Menma and her "uguu I am cute" antics extremely annoying, I ended up having a poor opinion of it.

Though, I guess I can see why other people love it so much.

I am watching Chobits. A bit too sexual for my tastes, but it's nothing compared to what I've seen in other anime.

Uhm, Not to rain on your parade or anything. But the Prince of Egypt is not an anime.

Though it is a good movie.

I'm almost finished with Yumeiro Patissiere! I love this show. Don't ask me why, I just do. It's so kawaiii! [/end of squee]

Cheers, Atria. Sounds like it's good for organising anime titles so you don't rewatch crap titles when you don't have too.

Yes, The Prince of Egypt is very good but it's not the least bit anime.

Recently have watched:
Sket Dance episodes 1-15 (Quite the interesting series. It is like GinTama but with a highschool setting and not so crude with the comedy. It still is funny.)

IdolM@aster episode 7 (Yes, this show is not much but it is a guilty pleasure.)

Saw the most recent episode of Tiger & Bunny yesterday. Only 1 more to go! Is anyone else still keeping up with this? If so . . .
What's your opinion: is Kotetsu really dead for good, or do you think they'll bring him back somehow? I'm on the fence; I could see it going either way.
This series has been generally so optimistic and idealistic that I'm hoping for a good ending of some kind either way.

Yeah, I enjoyed Ano Hana but I can definitely thing that all your things to say about it are pretty true in retrospect. It was fun to watch when I did, but you're pretty much right.

In its defense, however, I think the show was at its strongest when it was about Jintan manning up and stop crying and living his life out again. That stuff was mostly in the first half, so the second half is definitely weaker.

Also the OP is so much better than the ED.

blkmage is actually referring to watching stuff as it comes out on Japanese TV, so it would be pretty easy for an (English-speaking) member of any country since we're all using the internet to do so.

Anyways, started Moyashimon and Samurai Champloo at the anime club I run. Mugen is a boss, as are microbes, and anything that has people who dance when they fight is already one of my favorites.

Princess Tutu episode 16
I absolutely loved this episode! The girl of the day, Freya, was really pretty. Zura is super cute~! And I thought it was hilarious that she kept making Ahiru quack and then pour water on her right afterward. Seeing poor Fakir freak out is awesome. :brow: Also, I am really starting to get tired of Mytho being such a badboy, I mean I think it's actually helping his character a bit, but shouldn't Ahiru and Fakir do something about by now? Just waiting around for him to try and sacrifice some girl's heart is a little stupid, no?
8/10.

Durarara!! episodes 1 - 9
Wow, so this show is highly... unexpected. :eyebrow:
I mean the plot is getting really complex and the characters... Well, I think all of them are insane to different degrees.
My favorite is Celty though. =3
(Isn't crazy that the headless Fairy is the most sane character? Besides Mikado anyway.)
And I love the music. *_* Oh, and the artwork is fantastic.
So when I said it was unexpected, I meant unexpectedly good; and quite amazing.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Even though I walk though the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me. Thou dost prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; Thou hast anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23

Natsume Yuujinchou - Finished season 1. It took me a while to get used to the storyline of this anime, but I ended up really really liking it. I love love love the artwork. It's got to be one of the prettiest anime's that I've seen. Depending on how I like season 2, I may be adding it to the "to buy" list ^___^

Dantalian no Shoka - episodes 1-3. The storyline reminds me of Gosick in a lot of ways, but I definitely liked Gosick better. It's not as pretty, but it isn't bad. Dalian isn't as cute as Victorique imo. We shall see.

Ouran High School Host Club - episodes 1-7. It makes me laugh XD

Wut. Hat...how could you say this...the ED was Secret Base ~Kimi ga Kureta Mono~. It was Secret Base, for crying out loud (though, admittedly, the original version is better than the AnoHana version. And I am kind of bitter that every ZONE performance of it on YouTube is now spattered with "MEEEENNNMAAAA!" comments. But still...Secret Base).
But, yes, the opening was pretty darn good, too. =)
Now go and watch The Girl Who Leapt Through Time by the same director. It's even better!

Yumeiro Patissiere ep 48!

Finished Yumeiro.

Great ending!
Except maybe not? I'm confused... I know that it's obvious that Kashino has a thing for Ichigo, but to me.... Ichigo hasn't really thoroughly even shown her true feelings about Kashino, and neither of them ever confessed and at the end, they're all like. "I won't tell you now..." It doesn't make sense... But w/e. That's my only complaint. Also the change-up of Henry-sensei. I just don't get him at all. Anyway. Lovely ending!
HAHAHAHAHA! That series... :thumb:is AMAZING! It's so crazy and hard to keep track of, but I loved it to death anyway
Yeah, Celty was my favorite too! (I guess when you live in that city... only being headless can make you sane ;) ) Shizou was my near runner up though :jump: he's the best!

I love that movie! So good! I've not seen Summer Wars, though, and am considering it... is it good?

Oh, also... for the sake of the threads purpose  I just watched Origin: Spirits of the Past, the movie for the first time and was pretty impressed. The music was the best part, definitely, but the art work was also impressive and the story line was interesting as well. Watch it if you haven't, cause it was worth it :thumb:
