Yeah! I am already intrigued, now that I watched the end, I want to know how it got to that point. lol. It was just so random, the whole time I was sooo confused! haha.

Accel World episodes 10-12 - I'm going to wait until my friend finishes it to decide whether to finish it or not.

I also finished Chrno Crusade, which wasn't too bad after the point where it deviated from the manga, but their version of the ending was a bit disappointing, I have to admit. Especially Remington's changed views on God. Ultimately, I prefer the manga.

Sherlock Hound 1-5- I hadn't even noticed that this children's anime had been made in84-85! So far, a VERY loose adaptation of Sherlock's mysteries (and most of them aren't even based off of the mysteries). It also forgoes sleuthing in favor of action. I mean, if you're going to make a kid's intro to Sherlock this, it could be worse. I'll enjoy it more when I'm not making comparisons. And for a kid's show it's not half-bad.

Usagi Drop: 4-6 --It's gotten better and better! It's less creepy then I originally thought. It's pretty sugary sweet. :)
AoHana: The Flower We Saw that Day: 1-6 -- This show, has made me cry or teary-eyed since the first episode. WHYYY?!!! It kind of reminds me of Toradora! A bit. But I like it better than TD.
Time of Eve: ep 1 -- Very interesting, I think I'm really gonna like this.
Tsuritama: ep 2 -- Love the characters, reminds me of Kimi to Boku, except much more fast paced, which I like. I like that one of the seiyuus is the same as one of the guys from Kimi to Boku.
Hyouka: EP 19 EPIC! I really hate that its gonna end in two episodes though. THERE NEEDS TO BE MOAR! Oreki is becoming one of my favorite male lead characters, ever.

Finished Baccano! and the specials. An excellent show, rather messy(I have no idea how this show became the standard by which CAA measures tolerance of blood/gore. None, not a clue.:P), and a bit confusing at times. I want to watch all of it over the course of a week or less at some point.

Finished Kuragehime [Princess Jellyfish] A show about a group of girls living in an apartment and three of them are Fu. XD
It's a very funny show if you are willing to accept the absurdity of it's premise. My biggest problem with this show was not with the show itself but rather with the targeted advertising that accompanied it.

I've also been watching Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita (Humanity has Declined). Another odd and enjoyable little show.

Also, Hayao Miyazaki directed some episodes of that show. I've always wanted to check it out for that reason.

Since there is some measure of difference in quality in some of the episodes (I didn't care for the first one at all, really adored the third one), I'm actually keeping a list of the eps that seem different and seeing how many I can guess were his.

A couple of notes on things I've seen recently:

I saw the Escaflowne film. As a story it was rather underwhelming, especially compared to what I remember of the TV show (full disclosure: it is a long time since I watched the TV show). Still, there were moments when the soundtrack and the nice animation and the sight of Escaflowne itself came together well, I suppose.

I've also been crawling towards the end of SDF Macross, which I began watching quite some time ago and never got around to finishing -- stalled after episode 18. As Hat'n'Clogs was noting quite a lot of the time it's pretty poorly-made and, while the show is far from alone in this, the shaky bits feel shakier because a lot of the show is about the power of slick, un-shaky pop culture. I'm liking this last part of it less than I liked Frontier, and I didn't like Frontier very much.

I am currently watching D Gray Man. At first it was really wierd having Lin from FMA's voice coming out of a main character, but I got used to it and am actually enjoying the series immensely.

Well, I had heard various things about it. Like:
Rin being related to Daikichi and them ending up together, or something. When in actuality, the girl and Daikichi aren't really related at all, and in the show at least, Daikichi doesn't harbor any sort of feeling like that of her at all, and actually likes Kouki's mom. (I WISHED they got together) but anyway, I also read that Rin decides when she's an adult that she loves Daikichi more than as a father-figure, which confuses me. But! I guess I can kind of understand, though I wish she'd end up with Kouki. :)
Anyway, I really liked the show, it was really cute.

I also finishes AoHana. That show was seriously made to make people cry. I am convinced of it! Throughly! And it reminds me of a mixture of Clannad/Clannad After Story, and Honey & Clover and the character design was like ToraDora. Which fits, because I love both those shows a lot. Toradora! was okay.

Now I'm finished up Time of Eve, super interesting. Art is pretty fabulous.

Gonna finished Tsuritama and start Tokyo Magnitude next.

^ Oooooh. That creepy.
It happens in the manga. There's a timeskip between volumes 4 and 5, and in volumes 5 through 9 that does happen. It's revealed that she's not related to Daikichi at that point, because if they had been blood related, then they couldn't have gotten married later on. It's pretty obvious that's what the mangaka had in mind from the beginning and hadn't realized how people would love the first half - but followed through with her original plot line to begin with.

However, the anime only covers volumes 1-4, so it's all pre-timeskip and waaaay before any of the creepy stuff happens. It lets you believe that it all just ended on a great note.
I have to say I lamented less than most, er,
Mami getting ahead off herself. Up to that point her strong allegiance to evil-sugartastic creepy QB had me believing that she was evil herself. My reaction was more one of surprise at her actually being a victim than shock or sadness.
Watched the first two episodes of Puella Magi Madoka Magica--really not seeing why this is supposed to be so good. :/ I like the monsters and stuff, they are really pretty and interesting but besides that...It's a short enough series that I will finish it though.

I am also about to watch the True End to Persona 4. ^^

I've been on a "I don't really care about anime" unofficial hiatus...apparently. (just now sort of realizing it) But I went back to A Certain Magical Index today to just shut my brain off. I do really enjoy it. It's silly, inconsistent, random and absurd even for anime...but it's fun. Really the only thing I consistently don't really like is Index...Misaka
the original
sometimes irks me as well, but not super often.

I had the opposite experience - I'd already gotten into DGM by the time I started watching the Brotherhood dub (I'd seen the sub, though). It was so bizarre! XD Just goes to show you how versatile of an actor Todd is, I guess.

I've started watching Lovely Complex with my roommate; we're up to episode 3 now.

I watched one of the one-shots from the New Animator Training Project, called Wasurenagumo. It was a kind of witty and rather dark joke about cuteness. And it did indeed have some very impressive animation.

Well, I think innovative ideas have historical interest but no necessary connection to making the show better or more likeable -- otherwise newer anime would automatically be better, being the sum total of all past innovations. But I suppose it's true that I'm still very glad to be watching Macross even if I'm not always enjoying it very much, because it does fill an important hole in the 80s.
