Mars 4-7. I had to read two of them online, but they weren't the kind of volumes I'd want to read over and over again. I loved the end of volume 7. It's a total cliffhanger, but not a super painful one. It just makes you really wonder what the next chapter is going to be like.

Magi 1-14- Okay, so I got really excited about it. The character development is a bit choppy in places, but the fights are interesting, the powers exciting, the mysteries of the dungeons pretty good, and ... okay, I'm really reading for the romance. What interests me is that Morgiana and Alibaba are really more main characters than even Aladdin, even though Aladdin is supposed to be the Cosmic Awesome Powers dude. So watching these two develop - especially Mor as a fully-fleshed, always-awesome fighting partner (an incredibly rare thing in shounen!) - is really a great thing.

Been reading bits and pieces of several things as they come out, as for my favorites...

Reimie no Arcana(spellling? :n_n:) has picked up and gotten good lately. Some of the fresh characters in press me, and... not to spoil anything in case someone else is reading it, I'm impressed with how the author is handling the love triangle. So far in that area it has proven to surpass typical cliche solutions. Overall, I'm really loving this one

Pandora Hearts i think i'm in the seventy some chapters... whatever came out most recently. This manga is ever nearer and dearer to my heart, and the way things are coming together is absolute genius. I am going to be so depressed when it's over :sniffle:

Kimi Ni Todoke What else is there to say... this show is ever cute and adorable. :-^o^-:

Stray Little Devil 1-5 (complete)- Eh. It has an interesting plot idea, but goes all over the place with it. Also, the main relationship is incredibly forced. I'm just on this side of indifferent, since I thought Vine (one of the side characters) was AWESOME and wanted an entire series based around her!

Gin no Saji, a.k.a. Silver Spoon, chapter 55: Hahaha, that was great! And, as always, there's a great little cliffhanger, too. Looks like the start of the next chapter should be pretty interesting... :)

My current Bookshelf is
Naruto 45-48. I had been waiting so long for this part in the story! I especially liked the part about Pain and Jiraiya's book.
Arata 7 & 8. A very cute ending. It's a pity my library doesn't carry the rest of them, so I have to read the rest online.
Nura Clan 7&8. I have the same problem with this one as I do with Arata, although I'm seriously reading it online. This one is so much fun!
Faeries' Landing. Still deciding whether or not to like it.
Kekkaishi 1-3. This is a keeper! The main character looks like a younger Roy Mustang, and that only increases his charms.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun chapter 34: Excellent as always. :thumb:

And Zetsuen no Tempest chapter 19: Oh. My. Gosh.
I loved the revelation (or, rather, the characters' speculations :)) in this chapter about the possible division of the Magician Of Zetusen's 'heart' and magical powers into separate people, and-- if so-- which person might possibly have the former. :wow!: And that theory could actually make a great deal of sense-- however, even if it turns out to be true in one form or another, I don't believe for a second that said person killed Aika, so I'm still expecting at least one more twist out of that plot point yet. ;) Man, I'm enjoying this! :jump:
Pandora Hearts vol. 12:

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!:lol::lol: Oh man-- with this volume's brilliant first chapter, every scene in the series featuring Vincent (whom I detest) was TOTALLY WORTH IT just for the sheer beauty of what the mangaka did to him here. That was absolutely *PERFECT* (and ROTFL, did it serve him right)!! Seriously, that entire scene was a stroke of pure genius (and it was hilarious, to boot!), and I absolutely loved it!!! :jump:

As for the rest of the volume...
Random thoughts in general order of reading:

HOLY PLOT TWIST!!! :wow!: (And if that is indeed true, then it looks like that scene with that kid saying 'father' now makes perfect sense... O_O )

Oh, Elliot  -- that bit with him and Oz during the tea party was just priceless. (And yes, I'm intentionally not mentioning the ominous hints that continue to appear around Elliot and Leo later in the volume {er, at least in detail, since I kind-of did just mention them, LOL} because I like both of them way too much to even contemplate anything bad happening to or because of them at the moment... :?:)

Along with the characters (and humor) being just totally awesome, I also love all the planning/counter-planning and trickery that goes on in the series, and the latter half of this volume was no exception.

Gah, that scene with Sharon and Break was *really* touching! :( I know it's extremely unlikely at this point, but I still can't help really wanting a happy ending for them... :?:

Finally: Excellent cliffhanger!
Absolutely cannot wait for the next volume!

Black Bird 1-3 - This is all the smut without the actual sex. In a way, it feels a lot like Vampire Knight, where you get all the forbidden/looked-down-on touching (more explicit here, but still), and the stand-in of blood and the act of drinking it for the act. It's as sensual as all get-out with all the angst of teenagers' feelings about actually having sex.

It's definitely a teenage girl's fantasy. I think I would have been intrigued when I was a teenager. I think it's pretty stupid at this point.

I just started reading Dengeki Daisy and am loving it. Daisy is one of the cutest realisticly drawn guys I have ever seen. I also like the inclusion of all the technologically cool stuff, which adds a nice touch and differenciates it from all the other shojo mangas.

Silver Spoon chapters 54-56

My current bookshelf is
OHSHC, 17&18. I could never find these before, and I'm very glad I read them. I have to say I like the Manga ending better that the anime's.
Dengeki Daisy 1-3. These are laugh my head off funny, wonderfully touching, and still maintain some mystery that I have to find out about. I haven't enjoyed myself this much over a shojo in a long time.
Faeries' landing 7-9. This one leaves something to be desired.
Fruits basket 3&4. I loved the anime, so I'm reading the series so I can find out what happened after the anime stopped.
Kekkaishi 10-11. I love this series, but I'm still waiting for Tokine to figure out how Yoshiro feels about her. NOOOOOOO! NOT GEN!
Naruto 48-50. I seriously love this character, so much that I'm making up a fanfic where Naruto has a sister who's a lot like me.

So Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, it was a great and fun shonen manga for the first 15 volumes. For the next ten volumes, it became a trainwreck, but I still enjoyed it

Gin no Saji, a.k.a. Silver Spoon, chapters 56-57: Aw, that was sweet. :) (And LOL at Hachiken's reaction to what Aki said later on.)

Also, Dawn Of The Arcana vol. 6: Well, I had pretty much figured that
Cain was going to be killed, but I had actually expected that it was going to be Caesar who did so, so that was a good slight twist there (...and I mean 'good' in terms of the plot, not what actually happened, obviously ).
Other than that and a couple of nice little character and/or romance moments, though, this was a somewhat less interesting volume than the previous ones (and I think the kinda uninspired dialogue throughout a lot of this volume contributed to that ). However, now that
they've been discovered by Senan's prince,
it should probably pick back up a bit again.

Currently reading a manga made with ComiPo! called The Program, which is a 4koma story. For the most part it is fun and interesting, with a lot of hilarity and randomness....

My only major beef with it is the overuse of language. And I mean....F-Bombs fall like rain! Some chapters, the language is reduced to your usual "d" and "h", fine by me (that's FMA-level), I wouldn't mind if the harsher words were just used VERY VERY RARELY, but I mean, for some characters, it's like EVERY OTHER WORD like a main adjective, and I'm like "this is getting tiring...."

At the moment, I'm reading six.

Najica-Pretty cool, even though I've only read the first chapter.

Heads-It's a nice manga for suspense fans. Only read a few chapters so far though.

**** Robin O Korosu no wa- Really nice! I'm liking it so far.

Green Blood-I love this manga! It's just so good, but it also reminds me of the BBC show "Copper."

Master Keaton Remaster-Pretty good, but I'm proably biased since I love anything by Urasawa.

Rainbow-Awesome! I can't wait for an update.

Well I have yet to watch the anime, but the manga is super great stuff.
I like how it reminds me of one of my favorite manga, Battle Royale.

Anyway, I read the latest chapter of ZETMAN and I will focus on completing Gunslinger Girl.

Metro Survive (Complete) - At only two volumes, it isn't too bad, but it's really like an action film (and a rather cheesy one) than a serious survival story.

Is anyone reading Gantz? I'm pretty displeased that the big revelation completely abandons its despairing tack and throws in some reincarnation nonsense based on the disproven 21 grams thing. Ugh.

Neane wrote:Anyway, I read the latest chapter of ZETMAN and I will focus on completing Gunslinger Girl.

Hey, I didn't realize there was anyone here reading Zetman. I'm still not sure what to think about this series. I like some of the core concepts and especially the prologue that promises where everything is going to end, but so far events have been just so-so.

Whew! A bunch of stuff came in at once, so I'll go ahead and divide this into the completely new stuff and the next entries in the series that I'm continuing to follow.

New Series:

Cardcaptor Sakura, Dark Horse omnibus version, vol.'s 1-4 (complete): Well, this series had a bit of a rough start (both in artwork and in story), not really starting to pick up until quite a ways through the first omnibus; there were definitely some elements that could have been fleshed out a lot more; and there were a couple of other elements that the story could probably have done without (or at least done in a slightly better way). :P Even so, however, by the halfway point I had been quite drawn in, and I can see why it's one of the classic magical girl series. It was certainly worth a read for me. :)

Continuing Series:

Gin no Saji, a.k.a. Silver Spoon, chapter 58:
ROTFL at the (overkill) teamwork to put a stop to that kid before he could tag along. Very cute interruption anyway, though, and LOL at everyone's reactions because they immediately realized what was supposed to be happening. Also, Hachiken and Mikage having the same wish (and what that wish actually was) was perfect.
Zetsuen no Tempest chapter 20:
Oh dear... I already felt sorry for the poor kid who has the Zetsuen tree's magic, but this chapter made me even more sympathetic. It's not like he wanted to have that power. At least they're treating him well right now, though.

Also, nice little ironic meta reference to the story when Samon and Mahiro were talking. Plus, LOL at the first part of Hakaze and Junichirou's conversation -- and a great "holy crap!" twist to the last part! :wow!: I totally did not even think of that. And with magic already shown to be able to cross time... yikes. :pikka:

Can't wait for more!
Vampire Knight vol. 15: Well, I haven't quite known what to make of this for a couple of volumes now, particularly in regards to what on earth is going on in Kaname and Ichijo's respective heads (though I do have at least somewhat of a guess as to the former). :P However, I'm not counting that as a bad thing (yet), since this is obviously a slow-burning arc, and I'm keeping hope that things will be explained eventually.

Since Ichijo has always been my favorite character of the series (with Aido coming in at second), I was glad that there was finally a little development on the stuff with him in this volume.
In fact, I'm seriously impressed by Ichijo's mental resistance to Sara, despite the fact that she's a pureblood *and* he'd taken some of her blood as well!

And, actually, Aido had a couple of really nice moments in this vol., too. So that's all good. :)
Kimi ni Todoke vol. 15: Wow, the stuff with Ryu and Chizuru's childhood was pretty touching. And that was quite a good cliffhanger, too (seriously can't wait to see how she responds to that!).

And last but not least, Bakuman. vol. 16:
Ha! Excellent twist there-- I definitely did not expect that to be Nizuma's answer. And I liked how that arc ended, too-- it was more realistic that way. I'm quite enjoying the respectful and genuinely friendly rivalry that Nizuma and Mashiro/Takagi have.

Also, Nanamine is totally behind the whole veteran resurgence in this new arc.

And finally, just on a design note, I thought it was a pretty neat little artistic touch how Nizuma's image was actually wrapped around the cover, purposefully obscuring the logos and stuff on the back (especially since it also fit well with the talk of color-page gimmicks and etc. within the volume itself).
Saved by grace.

Been reading Songs of Self-Abuse and all I can say is that this is a pretty good read thus far. (How good is it? If I were to give a manga like Kokoro no Kanashimi , for example, a 10: then this manga would be a 8 thus far) I hope more gets translated. {At least that is what Mangaupdates is telling me.}

My bookshelf currently holds
One Piece, 2. THis is almost exactly like Naruto, but has some funny touches and lacks Naruto's emotional depth.
Naruto 53-55. I loved the volume about his family! It's really helping flesh out my fan fiction where I give him an older sister.
Mars 11. This wasn't as good as previous volumes.
HunterXHunter 11-13. We finally finished the Troupe arc and got into the game!
Faeri'es landing 12-14. THIS STORYLINE STINKS
dengeki Daisy 7-10 I love this series, but now I can't find anymore!
Kekkaishi 14&15. This has so many secrets, it's super intruiging and suspenseful.

Bleach: Since the anime ended without adapting the final arc(which is still comming out). I'm glad to say that these opponents are far more dangerous than the previous series villains.
