Just finished watching Pokemon: The Origin. I have never watched the ongoing anime series before, but this seemed to do well summing up all the things in the original game to an hour and a half.

I'm actually really looking forward to watching Pokémon: Origins! (haven't yet, but it's high on my to-watch list!)

I love pretty much everything about K-On!, it's no wonder it was so popular in Japan.
Been watching the rest of Lucky Star, love how Tomokazu Sugita talks about his character Kyon from Haruhi in one episode.

I am watching Gunslinger Girls II Teatrino and Nagi no Asukara primarily in the last few weeks, and will go back to watch Hanasaku Iroha when I have time. Still haven't gotten a chance to finish season 3 and 4th of Maria-sama ga Miteru.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! and Magic Kaito. I don't really have much of an opinion on either of them as I just started both series, but they seem enjoyable so far.

Watching Digimon Season 4. Don't like it as much as the previous seasons, but it's okay so far.

Just finished watching Baccano! What a madcap race. I'm planning to rewatch episode 1 tomorrow... I wish I could see the scenes in chronological order now that I've seen the whole show. What a crazy ride!

So I'd never before watched Dragonball (neither have I watched DBZ but I figured I'd start at the beginning). Any-whoo - I was NOT expecting to see... so MUCH of Goku.

SPOILER: Highlight text to read: In other words he is shown completely naked on multiple occasions. It's in an innocent way - he's such a kid and doesn't understand, and the art is a little dated so I find it more funny than horrifying. It reminds me of a book my mom used to read my brother when he was potty training called "Once Upon a Potty"... but I still was shocked when it first happened in the show seeing as I was not expecting it!

Anyone else have this reaction? Haha - does this continue? I'm on episode 30 and it keeps randomly happening. Otherwise, the show is cute so far, save for SPOILER: Highlight text to read: his dirty-minded teacher (if I met someone like this in real life I would not know how to react!) and his friend who is all-too-willing to show people her undies (and worse, though accidentally!) for favors.

My favorite character so far is Yamcha, mostly because he reminds me of Ryoga from Ranma 1/2. SPOILER: Highlight text to read: But now that he's over his fear of girls I might not like him so much, we'll see.

Just finished Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, and I have to say, this is one of the best anime I have ever seen. The art, character development, everything was really beyond my expectations. I'll definitely be watching season two.

Before I go on to Clannad After Story, I decided to watch the OVAs that show alternate storylines of what would have happened if Tomoya had gone for a romance with Tomoyo or Kyou instead of Nagisa. They were okay, but I greatly prefer the actual storyline.

I am actually watching Ranma 1/2 now. I figured I would try the manga and anime of Ranma 1/2 because of my high appreciation of Dragonball plus Takahashi's later work, Inuyasha. Happosai reminds me of a more wicked version of Master Roshi. Shampoo is really fun to watch for some reason.

You are very correct : Master Roshi on his worst day is Happosai in general, haha. I actually was not too fond of Shampoo through the series. I did want her and Moose together, though. Ryoga was one of my favorite characters - I loved his steadfast heart and his determination to win Akane. That said, I still shipped Ranma and Akane. SPOILER: Highlight text to read: The Romeo and Juliet kiss scene was adorable!!! Ranma is such a dolt, though. I think his feelings are pretty obvious but he strings all these girls along - though it's usually not on purpose. I get so annoyed watching it sometimes, yet I am very fond of the show (and manga). I hope you enjoy it! There are movies and OVA's, too.

Monogatari Second Season episodes 19-20:

SPOILER: Highlight text to read: As for the former ep., I liked the little back-and-forth between Shinobu and Ononoki in the beginning; but all the 'teasing' afterwards was a bit much, and that got pretty awkward/tedious by the end for me. (Also, I kinda expected a bit more to happen/be explained/etc.)

*However,* that said, the latter ep. more than made up for it! I totally expected the 'darkness' to have been targeting either Shinobu or Araragi-- in no way would I have ever guessed it was after Hachikuji! :pikka: But, of course, yet again that explanation made perfect sense, and led to a very emotional farewell (...which I was also not expecting, though once again, it was perfectly done).

...That epilogue, though-- holy crap!!! Did that "I punish liars" line mean what I think it meant?? :wow!:

Finally finished watching Gun x Sword. Managed not to claw out my eyeballs. Almost dropped it, but I was so close to finishing that I toughed it out. It had decent story potential, but the execution and characters were so tedious. Would not recommend.

I just finished watching Chihayafuru. At first I was really depressed about it being over, but then I realized that the last episode only came out in June (at least that's what Wikipedia tells me XD).

Just finished Pokémon: The Origin (Japanese w/ subs). Wow it was great - took me back to when I first played Yellow. They even used the game soundtrack - epic.

I watched with a friend of mine who is younger than me and has never played the PKMN games (but loves the original few seasons of the anime) and she really liked it. On the other hand, my younger cousin (who has played many PKMN games but started with Diamond/Pearl not with original) watched the first ep. on PKMN TV and did not like it. I told him it was not made after the series and was not meant to be the same thing.

Finished GaoGaiGar Final. As a sendoff to GaoGaiGar, it works splendidly, keeping the characters and situations familiar, but ramping up the intensity. The big problem with the original was not how great the robot action was (it was, indeed, great), but all the filler-ish episodes wedged between the good ones, especially towards the middle of each arc in the story. What Final does, is cut out most of that filler (it's still a little slow going towards the beginning), and pack all the good stuff into eight great episodes. (With a little extra fanservice added in too, but we'll let that slide for now.) The payoff isn't as satisfying as in, say, Gunbuster or Giant Robo, but it's pretty close, holding its own as the grand finale for the Gutsy Galaxy Guard, the mythology of our brave heroes.

And speaking of other Japanese robot cartoons with lots of G's in its title, at the insistence of my friend and fellow mechaphile Ante Bellum, I started Giant Gorg. The subs are still in progress, but they're almost done, and at the rate I watch anime, they'll be done with it before that becomes a problem for me! I'm two episodes in, and it looks pretty legit, even if there hasn't been a robot sighting yet - you have a giant corporation and a bus full of trigger-happy gangsters harassing a scientist, his kid friends and their Scooby Doo-esque dog for their knowledge of a newly formed island in the Pacific that has some awesome secret hidden on it (could it be the robot we see in the opening? Naaaaaaah, couldn't be!). It's been a lot of fun, watching as the characters tear through a cynical, vaguely dystopian vision of America in the far-distant year of 1998, and with the plot still developing, things are going to get good pretty quick.

Monogatari Second Season episode 21:

Hahaha, oh my gosh-- that was absolutely brilliant! :jump: SPOILER: Highlight text to read: This whole ep. (and, I suspect, this whole arc!) being set from Kaiki's point of view, and constantly going back and forth between what may or may not be the 'truth,' etc., was just awesome  -- and all of the interactions between him and Senjougahara (...finally, Senjougahara!) were so fantastic that I was literally grinning (and even outright LOL'ing at certain points  ) the whole way through. (Plus, the pleasant surprise of learning that even {deliciously entertaining} scum such as he had some sort of feelings-- and in fact that he must like Gaen very much indeed, to have accepted the job via Senjougahara/Araragi having such a tenuous connection to her. Well, either that or everything he said before that was indeed a lie, and he *did* have some feelings about the situation itself, but he just had to find a way to justify it. Either way, loved it.) And since all of the arcs in this season have had even-more-awesome endings than their already-excellent beginnings, I have no doubt whatsoever that seeing Kaiki pit his wits against Sengoku's over these next few ep.'s will be even more fantastic still.

Out of all the Monogatari series released so far, Second Season has easily become my favorite, and I cannot wait to see the rest of this arc!

So I am finally in Pokemon: Johto again. Ahh, brings back the memories of how excited my brother and I were to see new Pokemon! I just watched the A Bout With Sprout episode (oh my gosh, that Zack kid was so annoying, but at least he got better at the end XD) But my favorite was the episode with Blissey, I loved it then and I still love ot now SPOILER: Highlight text to read: I just love episodes showing a bit of someone's past, and I like how Jessie and the team took the fall so Blissey could still be a nurse.

I just finished this with my sister a couple weeks ago. Definitely one of my favorite series'. The only thing I can complain about it the intense cliffhanger it ended on. I mean, seriously, that's not even right. The characters and story were awesome, though.

Just finished watching Outlaw Star. The ending was a bit predictable, but overall it was loads of fun and did a great job of scratching that space opera itch.

Monogatari Second Season episode 22:

Words cannot describe how much I am enjoying this arc. SPOILER: Highlight text to read: Oh, Kaiki. I loved that new 'disguise' of his (that hairstyle just does not work for him, LOL!). Also loved his investigation, the amusingly surreal conversation he and psycho-Nadeko had, and how he figured things out. Plus, I had to say "Wow" at that interesting little surprise just casually slipped into a couple of those fast text screens-- that Kaiki had actually once been in love with someone who died. :pikka: Guess my theory last week about his feelings and such was actually at least somewhat accurate-- although, now, considering what he used to convince himself to accept the job, that's also making me have a couple more very interesting theories as to just who that person was... :pikka:

Y'know, when Kaiki was first introduced, I gave him the moniker 'deliciously evil' (meaning scum, but *very* entertaining scum ;) ); however, now that we finally have an arc entirely set from his viewpoint (despite not being able to trust him, and some/all of it possibly being lies, of course ;) ), I now actually really, really like him.

This arc has been seriously fascinating (and entertaining!) so far, and I absolutely cannot wait for next week! :)

Little Busters! - Episode 1: I have already played the VN of Little Busters, and I will say that the anime does a fantastic job of replicating the VN. Looking forward to the rest of this anime.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Episode 2: So I picked this anime up again after dropping it after the first episode a while back, and I am glad I did. This also looks like it should be an entertaining anime.
