Aww, that's not a bad job...At least you got a job :thumb: . I'm still looking and praying that the Lord will point me to whatever He wants me to do.

P.S.

It's "grocery" (I mean, if you care about spelling...)

Yay new pics!!! :jump:
The fist one was inspired by one of the art Psycho Ann sent me. So she gets the credits ;) *Warning: Blood* Just so you know, the girl is looking at... her nail  What?!? Killing dragons doesn't mean you've got to ruin your manucure :eyebrow:
The second is a gift I made for an old lady to thank her for making me a painting. But I still gotta work on perceptions :shady:
BTW, Express, about the grocery spelling, it's only because english isn't my first language. I wanted to be sure that what I was saying made sense  ...

Very nice! :thumb: You got a new fan! (...or first fan...I don't know  ). Keep them coming!

BTW

Express, about the grocery spelling, it's only because english isn't my first language. I wanted to be sure that what I was saying made sense ...

I know. Don't think I was making fun of you or anything. Just helping. Spelling isn't a thing you really need to do that well online anyway. At least that is what I've observed... ( This reminds me of the spelling tests I had in elementary school.)

P.S.

I was half joking and half serious about the "Teach me" thing I said earlier. I would actually like to know how you get the facial expressions right. (I find it kind of hard for me at least.) I mean, if you don't mind... :brow:

well....... last time I tried to teach someone it kinda turned out into a disaster  In the end she was just abble to make replics with a model....
Guess I'm not a really good teacher, but I think the best way to get the expression's right is to watch anime and reading manga and pay close attention to their facial expressions.
schools should be like that. Yeah! I'll open my own school!!!

 Go for it!!! :thumb: That would be pretty fun...maybe.

So, watch anime and read manga...hmmm...I already do that. Maybe I should put my DVD's on pause when I watch them and practice some drawings right off the TV.

Actually, copying directly from screencaps and stills is an excellent way to learn. That's how I learned to draw anime...and a lot of other stuff, too. :)

That's a good way to learn ;)
But be carefull not to copy the anime drawing style, it's important to have your own.
Me, I've combined different parts of different anime. If you look at my older drawings, I was only making a line for the nose, but then I started watching RahXephon and I started making nose RahXephon style :thumb:

That's kind of what I did. But after a while, unless you're just making totally ripped off copies of characters, your own style will emerge naturally. Copying just kind of gives you a platform to start from; something to shoot for. And one style inevitably won't have EVERY feature you like (at least, in my case), so mixing and matching I think will also occur naturally.

To me, it's just like when I make my own dance tracks. I constantly have to listen to professional tracks so that I can get the right overall professional sound in my songs (not that I'm a professional or anything )

Yeah! That's it exactly! It gives you a solid base in what is professional, so that someday you too can be fully professional. :)

Wow! You did a very nice job. It's harder for me to work just in the computer. I really like the bubbles, those are neat. And those are neat green markings too.

Here's another one I did without a sketch
Image

The reason why I'm suddenly not using sketch is because I'm at my father's house and he doesn't have a scanner.... The openCanvas trial was over back home so I downloaded it here :rolls_eye
But I also drew a lot of sketches, so there'll be a lot coming in a week or so. :thumb:

The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Neil Postman
(The End of Education)

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge
