SManBeyond wrote:Roger Ebert's review more than adequately expresses my opinion. He gave it one star out of four (very low), and here's a sampling of what he said:
""Catwoman" is a movie about Halle Berry's beauty, sex appeal, figure, eyes, lips and costume design...Everything else is secondary, except for the plot, which is tertiary. What a letdown."
SManBeyond wrote:"...Catwoman," a film that was born to be rated R, has been squeezed into the PG-13 category to rake in every last teenage dollar."
SManBeyond wrote:Oh, and Catwoman is NOT Patience Phillips! Selina Kyle is Catwoman! And not only did she not have any supernatural powers (the lack of which, imo, made her cooler), but she had a far better costume than Halle Berry's impersonation.
SManBeyond wrote:Also, a note to movie-makers: It's one thing to offend the critics with a movie. It's another thing to offend intelligent audiences. But it's ANOTHER thing to OFFEND THE COMIC-BOOK FANS! I haven't run across a single fan who didn't think this movie looked awful.

Xavier249 wrote:Yeah, you try explaining the words "booty" and "cleavage" as a guy to a japanese girl the same age as you. . . yeah you get the picture.
I looked cleavage up in japanese and told her that in japanese.
booty I said was a bad way of saying butt. so, she knows not to use it. Then I just kind of stumbled through the other words, like catfight...
The good news was that after understanding it all, she thought the movie was stupid too.
Bobtheduck wrote:But the Batman comics came BEFORE the Crow comics, right? Catwoman dying and being brought back was in the second Batman movie, which I thought came before the Crow movie (but like I said, it is more about which comic came first)I just gotta know... Does Batman show up in this movie at all? Are there any batman vs Catwoman fights? Anything to explain how she could be anything but a villainess?
