Honestly, If you hadn't banned him, I probably would've considered leaving.

But it didn't get that far. I support your decisions and actions. And I believe that he was only asking for trouble.

You know, this thread is getting a wee bit repetative. I have no particular problem with anything that has been said here, and I agree that it has been on a mature level, but honestly, how much do we have to say?

I've been saying nothing, because I have nothing to say, but I feel I must step in now. And now I'm going to get rid of the e-mail subscription to this thread, which has been spamming my inbox.

*sigh*

it has been on a mature level

It was, up to a point.

Howzabout we try thinking before we post, or even praying before we post, especially if we are feeling angry or offended? Administrators, moderators, and members alike.

For the record, Ashley, I think you have handled this situation rather well.

Ok...to keep the site up to events...this evening when i got in from work I got a few PM's from some members on CAA...about some posts and threads. SSJ5Gogeta and Agnoisticman have both been banned. SSJ5 wanted to make CAA a billboard for his religion of scientology....Agnoistic man was vulgar and lashed at members trying to be open and loving with him. Full reviews will be done by the Mods and Admins later tonight...for now I just wanted to clear a few things up. Thanks for being used by the Lord and word and deed. Alright guys, we've had a lot of issues tonight. 2 members banned, among other things.

First off, Agnosticman. As Steve mentioned, from what I read this guy was vulgar, rude, and hostile to other members. From the posts I read, he seemed only here to aggrivate us and to stir up controversy. Similiar to the other non-Christian members banned this week, he did not come here with an attitude of mutual respect, but one of hostility, arrogance, and antagonism. There is no need for any of that on these boards.

I will say this...on the thread he mainly posted in--the "What does God need with a starship"--I saw many people (will not name names) being borderline rude to this guy. Guys, I know it's tempting, but when you reply hostily to people like that, you're doing more harm than good. First off, you're giving them a reason to hate Christians, and two, you're only fueling the fire and fulfilling what they set out to do: create dissension and chaos. On the flip side, if we're continually respectful towards them, they will lose their fuel and fail in their purpose. The best thing to do in a situation like that is tell a mod or admin and let us handle it.

Now, the other member banned tonight was SSJ5Gogeta. He joined this site merely to promote his own "religion" Scientology and use CAA as a billboard for it. That is not at all tolerated, and considered spam in it's worst form.

I know this will come up again, so let me answer the question I know is coming "So why are all these non-Christians being banned? Does CAA not allow non-Christians to join?"

The answer:
they were NOT I repeat NOT banned for being non-Christian. I would welcome non-christians who truly are open to Christian theology. But people like Yaoi, Kyou, Agnosticman, and Gotenks were NOT seeking Christ at all, nor were they mildly interested in Christianity in the least. If anything, they flaunted the fact they were non-christians. I do believe evangelism is indeed important, but I will not allow this community to compromise its standards and hide under the term "outreach". It is quite possible to be Christians and not permit everything. And if no one else in the Christian community believes that, we will teach them to and be an example.

Besides, you're forgetting what effect this would have on younger, less strong brethren. We've already had one member say that if YS had not had been banned, he would have left. Think of what we're saying if we let openly, nay in some cases anti-christians join the site and just be all hunky dory with it?

I don't know how much clearer I can make this. Yes, we are a Christian organization, and inherent in that is the responsiblity to evangelize. But I will not allow us to tolerate anyone and everyone saying and promoting anything and everything. Understand? Again, the fact these people were non-christian was only secondary to their first offense: openly supporting things this community is very clearly against. If a buddhist joins up and says, "hey, I'm a buddhist, but I want to hear what you guys have to say" or something like that, I'll be fine with it. It's all a matter of the heart.

Finally, and I know this is getting extremely long, we will be amending the creed on the front page shortly, as to make it clear what I just said. And the rules, to where no more dirty links are to be reported.

My deepest love and gratitude goes out to all the mods and admins tonight, especially Steve, who had to deal with all of this while I was at work today. What excellent helpmates God has provided me with.

I've banned Satsuki, because he was spamming, flaming, and posting inappropriate material that most of you would be VERY offended by.

Well, this has been an interesting night and I’m praying that it comes to a rest. This site is fortunate to have a Night Owl Mod. I thank the Admins and Mods for staying firm to the rules of this forum, stopping things from getting out of hand, and their dedication to this site.

Yeah, there are too many trolls here tonight. It's like some kind of horror movie or something: "Invasion of the Trolls."

Anyway, congrats to the mods (especially ShiroiHikaru for staying up so late to handle this) and here's some things to help out

Wow, my full support is with the staff. It's more than refreshing to see upholding of rules and regulations like it should be upheld. We're not being biased but rules are rules and I can't tell you what a breath of fresh air it is.

It's like the rare cases of "undiluted" churches who say what God intended us to say and not just diluting His words to get more "followers".

Great job, my prayers for you all.

^^; Um, thanks St. Peter. Heh...

I have a theory. Perhaps these boards were linked to from another board, and that's where everyone is coming from.

Either way...I'm taking the hits as they come until an admin shows up :]

I'm not so sure. We've had a LOAD of hits recently because a thread on this board came up as number 2 for the search term "igpx" on Google. That equates to a lot of anime fans visiting this site, many of whom would be non-christians. It's either that or a coordinated attack.

We can expect a lot of new members anyway.

kudos to the admins for keeping on top of the situation last night.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

wonderful job, admins... you guys are doing great and im sure God has been working through all of you.

just a suggestion, but is it possible to get some type of schedule set up so that there will always be an admin/moderator on the boards at all times? that is how ive seen it at other chat rooms etc... it might be something to look into . we definetly have enough people here to have all time zones covered. i know we don't want to randomly appoint admins/ mods but there has to be some way to get someone on here at all times.

it might help keep the trolling levels down. just a suggestion, though.... you guys seem to be handling it well, even without having everyone on at the same time.

just wanted to say something.... this site has been an awsome blessing for me and i'm glad God has put all of you in charge... He couldn't have chosen better people.

Are we sure Shadrack was a troll? Did he send some nasty PMs or something? Because, although he wasn't a Christian, and he was dragging out a line of questioning, I didn't see any of his posts as overly antagonistic. He might even be on the verge of seeking Christ.

Just curious as to the reason for his banning...

We're working on stopping referrals from that site, and Noz has reported them to the police I believe. So it should be over soon, guys. Hang in there. And plus, if we give up and shut down for a while, guess what? They've succeeded in overwhelming us. And that will never happen.

Right on, Ash! Never give up! If we temporary stop registration, that would prevent other Christians from signing on.

Yet another banned one, 'nother confirmed troll (Yebe). I think this makes about 5-6 in the past 48 hours.
Vulgarity, and anyone who posts on/starts 1 thread and controversially, well I think it's pretty obvious what they're doing onboard.
