My life~kind-of was saved by a tuft of grass

Postby Jaltus-bot » Sun Nov 14, 2004 9:16 pm

I just decided to randomly post this.

One time a few years ago, my dad's older sister and her husband were visiting from the east coast. We were going around showing them some of the local area. We had stopped at this one area where there was a drainage area, one of those ones that is dry on summer and flooding in winter when there is a storm. I went too close to the edge and lost my balance I was almost belly down, head first heading toward cement 14 feet or so below except that there was this one tuft of grass right by one of my feet that I was able to use to steady my self with my shoe. I would have been falling by the time the flat area I was on would have made a difference. (That ladies an dgentlemen is why it is important to listen when parents tell you not to go to close to the edge where there is a steep downward incline.)
When I feel blue, I start breathing again.

It's cosplay, get used to it.

Thanks for sharing, Sher. I remember once being saved by a little weed on the edge of a cliff. It's amazing how God uses the little things, eh? ^___^<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

It pains me to say this, but after many long and torturous years of trial and error it is a fact that for the majority of your childhood, parents DO know best! Ouch that hurt!

ROFL - ouch; you're right, it hurts - but it's also true.
I've also learnt that although they're not always right, they do mean the best, and often through experience etc. know what they're talking about when they warn us about stuff.

That's awesome, Joan.
