"Your Name…" u guys wanted another one of my poems, here's one!

When I hear your name,
My heart skips a beat.
I long to see your face,
To have you surround my presence.

When I hear your name,
Time seems to stand still.
If not only for a minute,
It stands still for hours.

Your name shall be
renowned To the world.
If your name is not only
Renowned to my ears.

I hear your name always,
When I wake and when I sleep.
In dreams its your name that gives me peace,
And in the day your name keeps me going.

Nothing that I know of,
can give your name the right respect.
Not book, film, or game,
No picture or thought will give your name justice.

In a crowd of people,
I could pick you off the bat.
That is how well I know you,
This is how I wish for you to know me.

I long to have myself always in your presence,
Just to be able to see you.
My heart stops and time stands still,
When I hear your name.

I have given up on poetry these days. Not that I'm going to quit writing, but if this is what is expected out of poetry, I am done.

Nevermind my babbling. As for a direct comment on your poem, it is rather good. A nice piece of whatsitcalled type of poetry. Possibly with multiple uses.

Carry on. There may be a new generation capable of this kind of poetry.
Take it like you gave it; what else matters in the end? To be honest, it's all a one-shot test; that leaves plenty of places to go wrong, but how will you ever know? There's a pointer, I will admit. Turn it on, listen to it, feel it burn.

This poem brings out many varied emotions... um yeah. Good stuff!

[i]Two vast and trunk-less legs of stone stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, half sunk, a shattered visage lies. Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare the lone and level sands stretch far away. On the pedestal these words are inscribed:

“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!â€

*wipes a tear from her eye* that is really good. it made me think of God and someone. it sounds like sorta what i've been wanting to say but couldn't find the words. you are a good writer. i hope you continue writing.
"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things... hey... the good things don't always soften the bad things; but vice-versa the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant." -11th Doctor

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close
