Spencer's Art?

Postby Spencer » Fri Sep 05, 2003 3:37 pm

::searches::

I lost my old art thread...Didn't have anything too spectacular, anyway. Hope you guys don't mind me making a new thread, cause it's time to show off some not-so-great work!

Drew this in PhotoShop, no tablet, no sketch, just my crummy mouse. I ripped this right from howtodrawmanga.com, but I was kinda proud of it, considering how not good at anime drawing I am (did that make an ounce of sense?)

Ack, that skin tone is disgusting...Sorry about that.

With your mouse I'd say it turned out pretty good, the eye is very well done.

Nothin too snazzy, I was kinda bored.

The hands need work, and I could really improve on his expression. Otherwise, I'm satisfied.

Nice sketch. I like the eye on the first image.

Thanks for the comments. I really appreciate them all. Here is a serious picture I actually tried to make look good [the eye(s)], and then a goof off picture I drew in reading today.

Eyes: Drew these on actual paper, inked with an India Ink pen. The little I did color was colored with colored pencils, but I thought it came out nice.

Hat: I was really bored in reading, so I came up with this.

"Is your head cold? Do you want to be able to listen to mp3's and keep your noggin warm? Well here's the answer! The blandly named, mp3 Hat!</lame announcement>

Got this from the inside cover of Reanimation. Thought it was kinda cool, so I drew it.

(in response to an interview question "Do you have a pet peeve having to do with this biz?")
People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Looking at your pencil drawings, they seem pretty good but Dark/strong outlines would make them look a lot better! ^.^ *dances* Keep at it!
