STOP with all the Horror Movies

TV, Movies, Sports...you can find it all in here.

Evil Dead?

Okay, now, we are never to mention it again. Bruce Campbell is awesome.

Horror movies aren't really my thing. Just meh. I like (some) indie films, crazy movies, martial arts, and such.

If I'm going to watch a bloody flick, I'll take Kill Bill over [random gore horror film] any day.

I do like the Hallowen films. They were fun. Really just the first one..

I read yesterday that Lion's Gate is going to edit High Tension to get a lower rating when it comes out this summer. :waah!: I wanted to see it uncut!!

Well originaly it was going to be cut a little..and be NC-17 in its American release. Now, it seems there going to aim at an R rating. I just bought a french copy on Ebay last night...they claim its un edited. So if you don't mind subtitles you can check for it on Ebay. Most copies are slightly edited though. But in the end...if somthings so bad its edited off French dvds..we probably don't want to see it anyway. Check ebay for High Tensions other names though. Switchblade Romance, and Haute Tension. (yes I am excited about the American release...can you tell?) Btw, uncensored copies should be 90 min long. 86, 87 minute copies are censored.

But Bruce Campbell *is* awesome. The guy is a laugh riot.

Well, hey....

I'm a cute Christian chick. I LOVE anime, I adore horror movies (the scarier the better), I LOATHE chick flicks, I would play video games all day if I could, AND I'm smart.

If I liked Bruce Campbell, that would make me perfect. Can't have that now, can we? I have to have SOME flaw.

If you want to know what content the movie got it's rating for you could read the review at "Arrow in the Head" here...

[Link snipped, sorry man but the langauge onsite was a bit rough Shatterheart-]

He always has sections in his reviews were he breaks down how much violence and nudity there was in the movie.

I understand basically what you are trying to say, but you need to not be so over bearing. I don't know exactly how you meant this post to be taken, but it sounds judgemental to me. You aren't supposed to be judging others that way. Christians will never agree on every little detail of what should and shouldn't be done. Maybe that person you were talking to felt that there was some value in the three movies that led them beyond what they saw. Like Lord of the rings... I don't want to open up a can of worms by any means, but you do realize that alot of the lines and events in the books/movies have a strong tie over into what we as christians believe. Please try to be careful of what you say and how you say it. I personally was offended by what you said because of the way you said it. I myself don't watch horror movies, but there is more of a reason than I just think that they're bad. I'm fully willing to accept that there may be come horror movies that aren't "bad" as people like to categorize them. I choose to abstain for other reasons.

My only request is that when you (meaning everyone) make your choices about what you watch and how you spend your time, that you might pray about it and find out how God feels about how you're spending your time. I think that's something all of us (especially me) need to think about more often.

Your logic is flawed. If someone said, hey lets have Christian undertones in a porno...would you still use your LOTR logic?(I am well aware of Mr. Tolkiens personal belifes and how they entertwined his work) My entire point was...if you like something, hey more power to you. If someone came around me who was convicted over horror films I would not play them around them...wouldent want to cause a brother to stumble. However, its not right for someone to run around implying someone is sinning because there convictions are different. I would get into more...but I have already spoken the truth. My point still stands, that its hypocrital to call someone a sinner for watching one type of R rated movie...when your enjoying an r rated movie that contains nudity, violence, and new-age style stuff. (I myself liked the Matrix trilogy btw) However, this thread is a thread was not created to have people banter back and forth. Therefor, pretty much any more posts that just want to go on and on about why its a sin why its not...are probably going to be deleted. Not everything in the world must be turned into a debate guys. If you think horror movies are the most sinful thing in the world...why on earth would you go into a thread where horror fans are clearly having pro-horror film discussions. Why? Because you want to cause a fight or a debate. And as of now..thats over in this thread. This thread will go back on topic.

Anyway...on topic. It seems that the "horror blast" is coming to an end. I can only think of a few in the works at the moment...and last I heard there were not a bunch in planning.

Rocketshipper...that link is pretty cool. I am glad to see a site that warns about questionable content and such. I had to snip the link though...as much as I like the site...the langauge is way to rough for CAA to link to. If people are curious enough, they can google for horror movie reviews and probably find it.

Seems like there are still quit a few coming up. There is Dark Water and that new Michael Crighton movie, although that one could be considered action/sci-fi. Then there is The Cave (I want to see that!), The Jacket, Ring 2, High Tension, Devil's Rejects. Saw 2 comes out in October, I heard they are planning a sequal to Constantine already, as well as a sequal to Freddy vs Jason and The Grudge (-_-), and Sam Raimi wants to remake Evil Dead 1 AND do an Evil Dead 4 with Bruce Campbel. I'll be looking forward to the new Evil Dead movies, I love that series ^^

Erm...the Evil Dead without Bruce Campbell is like Africa without lions, New York without the Statue of Liberty and a cinema without a single reel of film. Its just not done. :shady:

Yeah it stinks I know. For those who don't belive me I can dig a link up on the horror board I post on. No idea on Evil Dead 4. But I know for a fact, Bruce will not be in the remake of the original film. The only person I have heard mentioned is Stilfler from American Pie. *vomit*

The Evil Dead remake is going to be directed by someone new with a whole new cast. As for Evil Dead 4, I think Sam Raimi said he would direct it and that he wants to work with Bruce Campbell again. I also read somewhere that Bruce was going to be like executive producer of the remake. And the last I heard about F vs J 2 (on January 13th) was that Robbert Englund was meeting with New Line to discuss the movie.
