Signatures - EVERYONE READ THIS!!!

Hi Everyone,
I've re-enabled text based signatures. Please be nice. If you have a graphic link in your sig that is too long (or another bit of text with no spaces) the system may not wrap it correctly, and that could break the layout for CAA. Please check your sig and make sure that's not the case.

Also, if you happen to see weird scrolling issue, please let me (or some other admin) know by either reporting a post by that user or PM.

Thanks!

I'm not MacGyver, but I'm not a bad tech, either. I could probably fix the server with, say, a coconut, five feet of copper wire, several gum wrappers, two bags of Doritos, a new server, and a large rock.

Heeheehee! Sure I'll be nice, if I can even figure it out.

I think it's time to kill them again. Some of them (see http://66.92.1.159/showthread.php?p=413000#post413000 for example) are clearly too long. Sure didn't have these problems before today...

As of now, we're cutting signatures that cause wrapping problems. So please do report them, as that allows us to solve the problem.

Ah, the siggys finally are back. Heh, I have actually grown so fond of a sigless forum that I've opted for no sig and deleted my own. Still, for old time sake, I guess I'll set my Kotor banner as the profile pic…..

Not for the forseeable future. Images in sigs is probably the biggest bandwidth sucker we have, so I really can't put them back in without destroying the usability of the boards for everyone.

Sorry!

It is true about image sigs, they do take up a lot of bandwidth. It is especially hard for those use dail-up or equavilant (sp). Besides im glad that we have the text sigs enable.

Personally, I'm glad there's no more picture sigs. It was getting ridiculous, with posts going on forever-- and only one or two lines for the message and the rest for the sig...

If having no pics is the price paid for a stable CAA with no database errors, that's a price I'm willing to pay...

Wouldn't have been so bad if people controlled their signature pictures better and I could name a few, but that would be mean... I miss my Kenshin banner...

I just like having sigs back. Besides, you can always substitute banners for text images. Okay, so maybe not, but it's still just cool to have sigs back. Thanks, Mith!

Let me put it this way, back in the day when the errors were common, I'd get notifications of 500 errors a DAY. Now, I get notification of (on average) around one or two a day. Seems like a better deal to me.

Mmm, because it's about a year old, and at this point, people would have to be pretty unobservant to not have realized that text-based signatures are re-enabled. So, it's not really necessary. But thanks for the suggestion, and welcome to CAA!
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
