Angelic Layer

Hi! I heard lots of good stuff about Angelic Layer from everyone here, so ummm... what is it about? What category does it fall under? (Shonen, Shoujo, Romance, Comedy, Adventure, etc.) Is it clean, and is it any good?

Well, I've only seen the anime, but if that's any indication, it looks like a great show-- er, manga. It was very clean. I think the manga is rated A- (for "All ages", not "Adult" lol) :angel:

Angelic Layer is awesome! It is CLAMP (same people who did Cardcaptor Sakura and Magic Knights Rayearth) It is about a girl who gets this doll called an angel which she customizes to fight in play battles and stuff. It is really cool, the dolls are controlled by a type of VR system which makes the doll do whatever the owner/ controller or 'deus' as its called in the manga wants it to. Very clean and funny and sweet. I have all the manga and can't wait to see the anime! ^_^

As Belldandy said, Angelic Layer is another wonderful series from CLAMP. Along with CCS and MKR, it is one of my three favorite CLAMP animes/mangas. I would highly recommend the manga and the anime. A very sweet, very clean, and very fun series.

heehee! It's awesome! *lol* And clean. ^^ There is a lot of stuff out there by CLAMP I wouldn't recommend, but Angelic Layer is good.

So really, ditto everything BelldandyMewMew said. ^^

Okay... so... I'm 2/3 of the way through the first volume of this Angelic Layer, and.... I love it!!

I thought it looked kinda boring in the store, but I must say it moves along and it's fun. Clean, too. And funny.

Icchan is amazingly funny. The art is wonderful. (I love the sort of minimalized style -- especially the hands!)

Anyway, just wanted to gush about it. ^-^

I love Angelic Layer! It's one of my all-time favorite series! I've read the manga and seen the anime on DVD.

I'm working on a manga review of the series, but basically it's about a little girl named Misaki who comes to Toky to live with her aunt. While she's there, she learns about the world of Angelic Layer. Angelic Layer is a like a virtual reality game--each player creates an "angel", a doll that when placed upon the "layer" has the ability to move and fight with other angels. Each angel is controlled by their owner, the deus. Angelic Layer's whole message is that bigger isn't always better; small or weak people can be just as strong! It's a great series and I'd recommend it for anyone. I'm not sure how you'd classify it as drama or comedy...maybe action. Definately shojo, definately worth your time!

I loved Angelic Layer. Icchan was my favorite character, but ya gotta love Ogata too. He puts up with so much.

Yes, I know there's a Clamp fan in me. I tried to kill it long ago.

Hey, does anyone know what the girl said in the original Japanese? I highly doubt that she said "Eeks!" all the time. Thanks~~

I'll if I got FIFTY DOLLLARS lying around so I can buy Angelic Layer. This is the first CLAMP title to catch my attention.

I'll collect it slowly or try to find it more cheaply online. ^-^

Fifty bucks... that's big money. Besides, what if you get bored with it after two books? Should buy it slowly.
