I appriciate the sentiment, but the staff is handling the troll situation very well at the moment, if I do say so. Some of the measures you suggested are physically impossible for this version of Vbulletin, and some I disagree with personally. I want members to feel free, trusted, and respected; I'm not turning CAA into a forum run by the Gestapo. So given both my personal convictions, my full faith in my staff, and the limitations of the software, I'm afraid most of those measures are out of the question, at least for the moment. Like I said, I appriciate the sentimenet, but we got it under control for now. Unfortunately, even with measures like that in place, there will always be ways for them to get around it and post rudely, and then we will do what we have always done: handle it as quickly and effectively as possible.

Just a humble suggestion, perhaps:
Not allowing attachments for a few posts might be a good idea. Not that many, just five or so. Why would you really need to post an attachment in your first five posts? But it does seem that the nastiest trolls use this function for their trollish behavior.

Not that it would really stop them. But it would make them work a bit harder, and perhaps some of them are lazy enough not to bother.

Of course, it's entirely up to the admin. I haven't really thought out the ramifications of this course of action.

Well, we would all love to be able to put that in place, except for the fact it's impossible on this version of VB. By December, the next upgrade (final?) will be available and Noz thinks he can code it in then.
