Poem: Sano from Rurouni Kenshin

Postby churchgirl111 » Mon Nov 10, 2003 2:10 pm

This is actually a deeper poem about Sano that reflects what his mind is...why he feels he has to drink so much sake all the time....

Sake

Pouring freely for poor men's souls
A cloak to cover past sins
A cloak that eventually shreds
pain and torment come again

sure, i've had good times
Who hasn't?
That doesn't outweigh what they have done
So What!
Bitterness and hatred consume me
I drink it in gladly
They shall pay

People wonder why?
Can't they see?
the freedom that this sake gives?
IT blocks the pain
It blocks the hurt
There is nothing i can do to be free
why fight it?

What about Christ you ask?
I don't see him, besides
i like my hatred
It has become an old dear friend
just like this sake
just like this drunkness
They shall pay

The sake is poured
again it is used
a poisonous antidote for an hour
but then it sinks its poison in deeper
Having only one antidote
Which man seems unwilling to see
Which man seems unwilling to accept.

sorry if it's deep i'm in a thoughtful mood! :)

This is His testimony: God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son, He who has the Son of God has Life. He who does not have the Son of God does not have Life.-John
