This is a poem that I wrote during fifth period algebra 2 last week. I think that it's one of my better ones. I hope y'all like it. Anyways. Here goes.

We left the fall, they tried to change it all
we couldn't remember all the places that we'd been
it's been a while since we danced to that song
the leaves change color but they won't be that way forever
Let's turn back before we grow cold
when we're gone remember my love will still be there
till the world is blue and gray
the leaves will be green forever
and we will never fall, never fade.

That's a nice poem for being put together so quickly. ^-^ I like your last quote in your sig too.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Thanks true noir. Most of my is thrown together rather quickly. Mostly because I have so many ideas going through my mind and I feel I have to put them down before I forget them. So I kind write them down at a somewhat feverish pace.

i appreciate your enthusiasm but i question your taste, icky. hehe. remember i told you i was going to write a love poem to your hat? well wait no more dear citizens! anyways. here it is.

I tried to tell you how i feel as the
memory of all those yesterdays played in my mind
I stuttered and stubled but the words wouldn't come out
do they know how things will change
Thoughts of you invade my mind and i
fear for my sanity
You look at me and we both smile
i wonder if i even need to speak if you already
know and you feel the same.

while we're at it, here's another one. i don't know that there's really a point to it but anyways. i really need to quit saying that. i've noticed that it's in just about every one of my posts. anyways. here goes

It's been another one of those days where
you can't seem to make a way
through your miserable life
You've been knocked down and beaten down
so you've forgotten what it's like to stand
Nobody ever sees your pain
you hide it when they show you a way
So won't you come inside your house for a while
and hang your rain soaked wings to dry
then stare out the window at the rain and
wait for the moment when you will fly again.

hope that y'all liked 'em.

" swingin' ? " maybe limping because it's leg isn't quite healed. but i digress. this is a short story that i wrote a couple of years ago. it's called " They . " i have tweaked it a little but anyways. here goes. hope that y'all like it.

A long time ago there was a little girl who liked to plant flowers and then dig them up and dry them to make potpurri and stuff like that.
One day she was outside planting flowers when she heard a strange voice that said, " If you plant it, they will come. Do not plant it or they will come."
" What are you ttaking about? " asked the girl. " Who are they? Are they aliens? "
" They are not aliens. Why do you ask these pointless questions? If you plant it they will come. They will not care that you are just a little girl. They do not care about anything. If you plant it they will come and destroy you. Do not plant it."
Even though the strange voice had told her not to plant the flower, the little girl planted it anyway.
The next day when the little girl was outside planting flowers in her back yard she heard the strange voice again.
" Now you have done it. You have made them mad. Now they will come and destroy you."
All of a sudden a thunderstorm started and the girl ran inside for cover but the rain and hail came in through the roof and hit her all over her body.
" Why are you doing this to me ?!" she screamed. " Make it stop, please somebody make it stop! "
" We will not make it stop. YOu have planted the forbidden flower and for this crime you shall die."
" Who are you ?! " screamed the girl.
Just then a large hailstone hit the little girl right between the eyes.
" We are They. We have come."
The girl was dead before she hit the floor.

Nice^_^....I have to say I feel somewhat for the poor girl, though.

Also, I really liked the last poem...I can relate to it in some ways.

"Why do people not notice until they lose it?
What it is that's truly important...
Although I can't afford to forgive even myself,
Because you were there,
I was able to be myself (Natural).
I want to be honest...I want to be kind...
I want to be the adult I once (in my childhood) longed to be.
I go on fighting against the heart to run away...
I go on fighting against that invisible something!"

I liked your story. ^^ It reminded me of a short story my daughter wrote for a class assignment and the teacher wrote me a note asking what she'd been reading lately.LOL Are you a second child, by any chance?

I think you have great wit and it must run in your family.*thumbs up* Please write more.

well now icky, hehe, there's no need to gloat. by the way that wasn't sugar you put in your cereal yesterday. hahahaha!! anyways, here is a poem that i wrote today actually. anyways, i hope y'all enjoy it.

every word that you say stings with pain
and makes me feel incomplete
the only words that you ever say
hold no compassion for anyone
every word that comes out of your mouth
warps the truth and corrupts the heart
you see my pain and your lies only make it worse
but i hang on every word for it's the only
attention you give

I hope you have a Merry Christmas also and I look forward to reading your next installment. ~-^

a new one

Postby Rachel » Thu Dec 18, 2003 4:10 am

i don't know if i'll put up the one that i wrote the other day. anyways. this one i wrote in july this year. it doesn't really have a name. anyways. here goes.

i sank down on my knees because i
needed a release from all my pain
the day to day life was too much to handle
i had no one to count on who could help
me fight my way through
no one was there and no one really cared
i was bitter, confused and in so much pain
i searched for something to ease my pain
so i would never have to feel that way again
so now even as before i will sink down to my knees
because i have found you
and i am free

false hopes

Postby Rachel » Mon Dec 22, 2003 1:40 pm

this is the one that i wrote after my final last week. i wanted to put it up before i chickened out. anyways here it is.

i see two lovers holding hands and
i wish that i could love
i see a bird in the sky and
i wish that i could fly
i see a toddler laughing at elmo
and i wish that i could smile
i see a mother in tears because of her life
and i wish that i could cry
i see the wind in the trees
and i wish that i could feel
i see everyon's pain
and i wish that i could heal
i see You hanging there
and i wish that i could believe

Why'd you change where you placed "and" after the first two stanzas? I like how you first wrote it.

I like your poetry. ^_^ It's so cool.

wow...i can't believe people actually like my poetry. thanks y'all. well this one i wrote yesterday. it's not very happy. anyways. here it is.

we make them without thought or care
we amass them as if they were valuable
and display them with pride when
they should be burned
they're all different sizes but
they serve the same purpose
when we hang them up you can
see them glitter in the darkness
with all their moisture dripping down
but next time i won't be the one
to hang my noose on the tree
under the beautiful star

You

Postby Rachel » Tue Dec 30, 2003 4:47 pm

well this one i wrote not too long ago. it's another of my not so happy ones, but anyways here it is.

you can't follow directions and you
can't pay attention
you can't express your true feelinga and you
can't love yourself
you disobey your mother and you
scream at your father
you know the truth and you
can't believe
you can see others flaws and you
can't see your own
you can do nothing right and i
know that you can
no longer be me

ya know, i don't really know what that one's about. i sat down to write a poem and that's what came out. it's not the one that i had intended to write that day either. the one that i had meant to write that day still hasn't come out. it's proving to be a very difficult poem to put down. i have some of it figured out but the rest of it should be coming soon. until then, mis amigos. boycott standardized testing!

Postby Rachel » Thu Feb 05, 2004 4:47 pm

untitled

this feeling lingers and
my flesh burns
I fall for you
into this touch
my face, hold my hand
your touch remains
liste as I sing of life
show that you are there for
me and never leave
close my eyes when I sleep
my chest rises as I breathe
all this in
I wonder if I should stop loving
you and love myself
as this feeling lingers and
i fall asleep.
